Don't be fooled by the high critic reviews, this movie is pretentious dribble. Very dull and no plot. Awful. It is also curious how EVERY review by critics on metacritic is positive. A simple search shows that there are negative critical reviews but metacritic doesn't publish these, why? Metacritic has a review from the guardian but another reviewer from the guardian wrote "(Upstream color) turned out to be a baffling, opaque mess" and gave it 2/5. That is curiously not mentioned on this cite and instead the movie has "universal acclaim". See: ****/film/2013/jan/23/sundance-festival-upstream-color-first-look-review . To sum up: this "movie" is dreadful and there seems to be an agenda to make it appear that it is well-received. Though who do rate the movie highly are pretentious idiots.

Surprisingly entertaining little flick. Would recommend to anyone whose already seen the best in genre (as it doesn't quite reach theses heights) but it a gripping, suspense-laden movie.

Stick with the original. This remake is scene for scene but not as scary or well acted. Hollywood: DONT REMAKE A MOVIE UNLESS YOUR GOING TO IMPROVE IT! 3/10

Really recommend this movie (not the sequels however). Good plot and storyline, nice special effects (not too overdone) and if you can overlook the plot holes and suspend disbelief, your in for a great ride!

I hate to say it but this movie bored me to tears. Incredibly overrated. All I kept hearing was how well done and put together this movie is, but oh wow. It makes no sense and the scenes drag with no point to them. To be honest, I know several people who enjoyed this movie (how is beyond me), so it's not just media hype and you may be one of those people. But I found it amazingly boring and pointless, with no coherence. 1/10 is generous.

Awful movie, all the praise for this movie must be from the marketing department! This review must be 150 characters, but there are no words for how bad this film is. AWFUL.

Surprised by the negative reviews from critics, I actually found this movie really enjoyable. I suppose it's a guilty pleasure of mine! It's funny at times, touching and sad. I understand that the movie could have been better, but even so, the storyline is good and the acting decent. It's a nice holiday movie and would definitely recommend.

Good movie, but overrated in my opinion. Ensure you get the theatrical subtitles as well, as the DVD release has awful subtitles (google the controversy to find out more info). If you don't listen to the hype surrounding this movie, I think you'll enjoy in. But don't expect the masterpiece everyone keeps banging on about!

This movie is very funny and keeps the audiences attention throughout. You'll find yourself laughing throughout and really care for the characters as well. The movie is really 8-9/10 but after watching The Grand Budapest Hotel which got raving reviews, I must give this a 10/10. The two films do not compare, with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels being infinitely better!

Really enjoyed this movie. If you overlook the plot holes, it is quite gripping and eventful. Better than the final batman and one of Christopher Nolan's best. 8/10

Incredibly overrated non-movie. NOTHING in the movie is realistic and the whole movie is basically one over-drawn battle with ridiculous special affects and awful storyline. Would recommend avoiding, however it does have a large fan base and so surprisingly you may enjoy it. I thought it was awful.

This is an underrated movie in my opinion. The dialogue in the music store and the structure of the flashbacks is very interesting and funny. Considering that I just caught this movie on TV and was not expecting anything, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone wanting a light-hearted comedy.

This movie may no doubt be spectacular to violin fanatics or those who can appreciate extensive periods of violin solos, but for the average viewer these moments are too numerous and repetitive and frankly boring. The ending is also poor, but overall (despite overdoing the musical scenes) it is a watchable movie. Could have been shorter though. 4/10

I was disappointed with this movie. There was raving reviews which the movie could never live up to, but even without considering these reviews the movie is average and watchable. There are a few moments where you'll **** but the majority is very unfunny and overacted. It is more a light-hearted movie than an out-and-out comedy. It is watchable, but slow at times and does not at all deserve the critical acclaim. I believe there is an element of snobbery behind the reviews that rave about this movie. Had it been an unknown foreign movie without the big name actors, it would be rightly called average.
