Assassin's Creed Shadows2

Without a doubt the worst in the series. Two good things in this game: shadows and weather. Every single thing else everything was completely un fun, uninteresting-- you can't even travel the open world, you are limited to roads. Not one name is memorable and neither is anybody's performance. I did 100 missions and there are zero i remember fondly. I've never disliked an AC game as much as AC Shadows.

50% the game everybody wanted.
50% forced garbage mini games. Make a game thats about the game next time Square. This was bad filler, completely in the way. Then characters like dio and yuffie ruin all serious moments, its really terrible and sad to dump on your own writing.

This game is not underrated, it is appropriately rated. I played this game half way 8 times, beat it, and i can verify, this game is a draaaaag. The parkour feels sloggy, the protagonist is a c***hold who contributes nothing to anyone except himself and failed doing that too. Side objectives were so trivial during missions it didnt matter at all. The only actually good part of the game is the customization. Had to rate it so low because it took 9 attempts to just find out the story lmao.

Best story mode side objectives in any AC game. The "unique kill opportunities" were really fun. I couldnt play the game without Jacob dressed as Sherlock Holmes, but it ended up a better game than i thought.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom6

AC:Valhalla + Dragon Quest Builders + Mononoke Movie A zelda game in the same sense as zelda 2. Everyone knows it doesnt belong, but its unique enough to respect, yet it still lacks fulfillment. Narratively: More story than botw, but definitely the same low quality. Like budget square enix bad. I get hylians have big ears, but making them furries was horrendous cringe. The voice acting was somehow worse the worst part. Every VA should quit their careers, no emotion, just "i am profound guy reading paper." Low low quality. Zelda looked like a cat and the blood moon lines sound like shes taking a dump while on the phone at night. The O N L Y good part narratively was the ending and Laurelin village. Otherwise the rest is a huge waste of time thats fun factually half the time. Like you really dont gain anything emotional, inspirational, educational, substantial, or genuinely anything of value.

The story is fantastic, yes the game is long, yes it has loads of content, but also yes all of the side quests are some of the best in the series, especially from the two games prior. I hated it the first time i played, then put out 180 hrs the second time. Honestly just adjust the damage values and you will enjoy it.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild2

Picture any other game at all ever as a reference: As our protagonist walks up to a brilliant landscape, a man approaches your player.... “Just walk and, yeah that was literally it, bye.” Seeing no challenge at your present location you go forward. Aha an enemy! Surely there will be a challenge. Nah just wack poof. Okay. Uh just march? Cuz so far Im bored from walking in circles, not finding anything from early exploration, and not driven by any story exposition or enticement. This is Breath of The Wild. If I’m comparing it to other open worlds, its pale and people look orange, and if I’m comparing it to the past Zelda games, it falls short in every iconic aspect. Tropes, damage, ESPECIALLY the exposition. You would wake in a village with problems, understanding your character is helpful and adept. You had a purpose in being there, a use for the location, each item meant something and characters were thoroughly memorable. Heck those games were frustrating, even annoying to me for the first few hours, but they pulled you in to keep you going and i mean 90% of the series fulfilled these aspects. This game is just empty empty empty. Empty of character, story, skill, and landscape. 2/10 because its not as directionless and canonically worthless as OG Awakening.
