Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a fantastic game. Let me repeat that: It’s a fantastic game. The lingering control issues (and even these are minimized) and some minor pacing issues as a result of the two-protagonist approach can’t taint this gargantuan project.

It's not a groundbreaking game, but it's an iteration that better knows how to please the fans of the franchise. A good narrative and charming characters help us to uncover the mysteries of London in spite of the bugs we find here and there.

Oh my... At first? Wasn't into it, but after giving it time? Oh my!!! Best Assassin's Creed game I've ever played! I love how they took Unity's parkour and made it better. Game's also full of stealth and even more if you do the liberation parts, which are a pretty nice challenge. Would like the Unity's armor system better, but this one is also pretty nice! Would recommend!

Finally, we have a stealth mode. And it changes many things. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate isn't a revolutionary game (it's obvious) but, Ubisoft tried new mechanics on the twins. Most importantly: It works (unlike AC:Unity).

The Assassin's saga is starting to feel a bit tired when it comes to structure and gameplay, but Syndicate does pretty much everything that Unity tried to do better (well, except for the multiplayer, completely taken out of the game), and grabs the player's attention with great characters and finally a decent storyline. Also, the virtual London is splendid, but you expected that, right?

Even though Syndicate does not struggle with the same issues as Unity, there are a few annoying elements to it. That is frustrating, but they do not 'break' the game. The characters are interesting and the location where this adventure happens is gory and gorgeous at the same time. Syndicate is definitely worth playing.

Kill Screen
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate lets you science the shit out of murder in a city where people are sciencing the shit out of everything. There's an undeniable appeal to that. But it’s an appeal worth looking in the face.

Syndicate is a massive shame. Ubisoft’s yearly development cycle is really beginning to leave its mark on the series. Assassin’s Creed has been good. It is a series that can be great, but unfortunately Syndicate is a misstep. For a series concerned with making its players historical tourists, it is ironic that it is so stuck in the past.

My system: gameplay 50, graphics 30, story 20. Ubisoft wants to make a game with a female protagonist but seems terrified to actually do it, all the way until Shadows. Evie is a badass. She's pretty, she walks with a strut and grace. She's smart and on a mission. Jacob is her moronic little brother who tags along, who tries to be funny but is annoying. That's just Quebec studio style - to disrespect anything they touch. Combat is what killed it for me. WHY I have to hit each regular goon 10-11 times in a row to knock them out?! It's very spammy and bad. You also can't freely move in combat, you somehow get "stuck" by design. It tries to copy Arkham Knight combat with timed parries but it does it badly. Story is nothing special. Clear each district from corrupt Templars. Gameplay: 1/5, only because Evie is an eye-candy Graphics: 2/3, generally good but showing age. Being entirely in a city without a need to render landscapes and foliage also "helps", the tech seems to carry what it's tasked. Story: 1/2, for not being terrible and being about AC. Total 4/10

London is designed beautifully, you feel like you are actually in a great, vibrant city from the Victorian era. And that's it, the plot is practically non-existent, the characters are boring and flat, the combat frustrating - massively wasted potential. You can play the game just to run around the city and that's it.
