If it weren't for the wonderful cinematography and brilliant acting from Guy Pearce this movie would be a complete flop. Bootlegging prohibition movies usually excite me, but the plot in this movie has no meaningful plot whatsoever, it's completely pointless, which does not warrant the excessive brutal gore violence included in this movie. It makes me sick thinking about the brutality that is so unwarranted in this movie. One of the worst movies I've seen in awhile.

An amazing performance from Denzel Washington makes what would have been an all right movie, into a movie that will be memorable for time to come. This amazing true story of a mans love and retribution inspire and entertain to the end.

Iron Man 3, while not being better than the original Iron Man, is far improved when compared to Iron Man 2. Robert Downey Jr. is in his typical smart-alec humorist, narcissistic, bad ass mantra, while this time developing more of a heart as his relationship with people and Pepper blossom. The action in this film is extremely intense and blood pumping, while not over powering the plot. The plot is equally enthralling, leaving you on the edge of your seat, but giving you enough dramatic irony to make you empathize with the characters. Tony Starks interplay with the boy in Tennessee is charming, and enough to make the most judgmental appreciate Tony Stark. Ben Kingsley's cameo is brilliant and hysterical. Sadly I'm left wondering how Iron Man really gets the bad guys, it just kind of... happens. Overall, good movie. amongst the best superhero movies being made currently. Not a spectacular, but still a great movie.

Luhrmann's take on Gatsby is not perfect, the modern music mixed with the tradition is slightly distasteful, but in ways brings things up to date, while still keeping the traditional mystery that encompassed the roaring 20's. The camera work in the opening scenes is extremely fast paced, and full of stunning shots, yet it's reminiscent of the novel in this way. It begins as a fast paced piece of life and action, and slows down to capture it's essence. What really makes this Gatsby so fantastic is that is so accurately captures the spirit of the novel. The acting is superb, with Leonardo handing in a typical mesmerizing performance, while Toby Maguire stuns as Nick. Joel Edgerton and Carey Mulligan give the genuine nature of Tom and Daisy, while maintaining the vast carelessness of the two that's necessary for the magic. Lhurmann's masterpiece doesn't transport me back to the 20's, or to Gatsby's parties, but instead takes me into the heart of a man clung on hope, hope that tomorrow we WILL stretch our arms farther. That's where Lhurmann goes right, he captures the spirit of the novel, a feat that is worthy of praise.
