I have not played this game, but I am giving it a 0 in order to combat what appears to be either bots or some really angry Yuji Naka crusaders giving a 10 to all versions of this game. Please do not listen to the user score here as it is not genuine.

Look, it's 3 of the best 3D platforming games of all time, which is enough to warrant a 9 or a 10. But the reality is, this is a barebones portfest. It's just 3 emulated Mario games thrown together with a cheap splash screen and the soundtracks for $60. I rarely encourage emulation, but you can get Super Mario 64 running at widescreen resolution with HD models and infinite draw distance on PC or homebrew. This is simply asking too much for too little that was thrown together too fast.

Kirby Fighters 2

User ScoreDetectiveDonut
Sep 25, 2020
Kirby Fighters 2 is a sequel that improves on the original in almost every possible way. A story mode, online play, a mix of 10 new playable copy abilities and guest characters, and same-console couch multiplayer is a vast improvement over the 3DS' Kirby Fighters Deluxe. Bandana Waddle Dee is playable; which should be enough for most Kirby fans to instantly buy. Kirby Fighters 2 features 5 new playable copy abilities, Yo-yo, Staff, Water, Artist, and the never-before-seen Wrestler. This doesn't count the additions of 5 new playable "allies"; the likes of Magalor, Meta Knight and the awesome might of BANDANA WADDLE DEE are at your **** game is evidently more balanced than its predecessor, and every single ability is fun, simple and unique. The addition **** as a swallow fits the Kirby theme perfectly in a fun and quirky way. KF2 doesn't skimp on modes, either. Its main single-player attraction is a tower-climbing story mode where you face off against various remixed bosses from the Kirby universe as you approach a showdown with King Dedede and Meta Knight. "Challenge Mode", a new version of the original's single-player offering, still feels tough and fresh. Other modes include an online multiplayer mode, which is only playable in 2v2, either a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it, and a local multiplayer mode, previously only achievable through Download Play. Multiplayer Kirby Fighters in all of its glory is now on the big screen, and while it's definitely more simple than other platform fighters like Smash Ultimate and Rivals of Aether, it still manages to hold its own through the appeal of the copy abilities, the pick-up-and-play controls, and the simple fact that Bandana Waddle Dee is playable. A must-have for fans of Deluxe, and fans of Kirby, KF2 is a worthy addition to any platform fighting fan's library, and a surprise release that does its predecessor justice.

Even without the "GHTV" mode that gave it 600+ additional songs, Guitar Hero Live is definitely worth your time. While not necessarily welcome, the new guitar peripheral shakes up the gameplay enough to make it feel like a fresh new entry in the series.

Sonic Forces has multiple problems- the game is too short, the story is convoluted and rushed, and the animation is choppy- but the gameplay still feels great. There's sparks of brilliance in this game, but it's never fully realized. It seems more like a proof of concept than an actual, full-fat game, but the idea itself is intriguing enough to make me want to see more. What Sonic Team needs to do is rebuild this game from the ground up, which would make it a Switch essential. Sonic Forces would greatly benefit from a story that takes more than 2 hours to complete in full, maybe up to ten, with a complete removal of Classic Sonic. A Shadow the Hedgehog-esque branching story would make it even more replayable. Multiplayer options, such as taking your custom character into raid-style battles on Eggman's massive Badniks with other players would increase the incentive to keep playing even more. Overall, Sonic Forces is a game full of unrecognized potential, and doesn't stay as long as it should, but is still fun and replayable to an extent.

Holy crap, this is a great game! The atmosphere is perfect for a Luigi's Mansion game, and the destructible environment adds to its overall charm. The return of characterized ghosts is very welcome, and improves the overall experience. The multiplayer is really fun, too. Overall, a great game with few flaws!

Nothing can compare to the incredibly immersive fishing experience that is Fishing Universe Simulator. Its graphics alone outclass the newest Zelda and Mario games in every respect, and the gameplay is equivalent to skateboarding on a surfboard with a jetpack on out of an erupting volcano. Simply incredible. /s

Bouncy Bob: Episode 2
6
User ScoreDetectiveDonut
Feb 10, 2020
Bouncy Bob 2 is a vast improvement over its predecessor, which unfortunately isn't saying much. The movement and combat of the game are much more refined by ditching the "one button" control scheme of the original game; being able to build up momentum for a jump and utilize a sword are both welcome changes. Another improvement is that there are more modes than just "single player" and "multi player". The different modes will have you and your friends teaming up to take on waves of enemies (Swarm and Tower modes), or duking it out with each other (Arena, Volleyball, and Blender (?) modes). There's a consistent feeling of polish in the game (with the exception of its ugly menus and loading screens) that is a definite improvement over the lazy, thrown-together feel of the original. The game is not without its drawbacks, however. Ultimate Games obviously isn't trying to implement "one button" controls anymore, but they persist in making basic movement in Bouncy Bob 2 a chore to figure out. With time, you can figure out its nuances, but this chips the "couch multiplayer" armor Ultimate is going for, making it harder for newcomers to just sit down and play. On top of that, the gameplay itself simply isn't enjoyable enough to be the first thing I boot up for a multiplayer session. The aesthetic of Bouncy Bob is compelling, but it doesn't give me a good enough reason to choose it over Smash Ultimate when playing with others. To conclude, Bouncy Bob 2 is a solid multiplayer game, but it still ultimately fails to deliver incentive to play the game for more than 10 minutes at a time. Most people you play with will probably be either enticed by its unique gameplay, or discombobulated by its unnecessarily difficult control scheme. Ultimate has made an intriguing game, but like its predecesor, it still feels like a "proof of concept" instead of a full release. That said, $5 is the perfect price for this game, and it's definitely worth picking up if you're in the mood for a "unique" experience.

It's a fun game, and the drip-feed of unlocks and content encourage extended play. Other than that, it doesn't give you much reason to come back to it. The multiplayer is about as fun as Tony Hawk's multiplayer options, so if you enjoy that you'll enjoy this game overall.

A great game that is hindered only by technical issues. Controlling the flashlight is a nightmare with the D-pad, and the multiplayer mode, at least from my experience, suffers from vicious lag. I still recommend this game, even with the technical issues, but you would do better with the original GameCube classic.

Beautiful and enthralling action game. You play as Jon Arbuckle, a young Confederate officer, as he experiences the visceral horrors of the Civil War. The graphics are incredible and the game handles brilliantly; running over Union soldiers feels realistic and true to historic fact. As you progress through the game's dense, 200-hour story mode, you can unlock new characters, such as General Garfield , Corporal Nermal, and a young slave girl named Arlene. The game features 16 original tracks, such as the battles of Vicksburg, Bull Run, and Gettysburg. The lush environments of each map are enhanced by the wide variety of 9 different power-ups, which include muskets, water horns, and bayonets. Skewering Confederates with the tip of your bayonet has never looked better. With online multiplayer that features several modes (Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, FFA), this game cannot be ignored. THE VERDICT: With a branching story mode that contains over 200 hours of content, a wide variety of power-ups, maps, and characters, and a multi-featured multiplayer, Garfield Kart: Furious Racing is a must have for any gamer's library. It's the Game of the Year, for sure, and arguably the best game this decade. Garfield Kart: Furious Racing is a emotional, technical masterpiece. 11/10.

An emotionally powerful and visually crisp game. You play as a young Confederate officer, Jon Arbuckle, as he experiences the visceral horrors of the Civil War. The gameplay mechanics are top-notch; the Karts handle beautifully and running over Union soldiers feels authentic and true to historical fact. Unlocking different characters to play as later in the game (Corporal Nermal, General Garfield, and a young slave girl named Arlene) keeps the gameplay fresh and varied. With over 100 hours of gameplay, it's an incredible addition to the Garfield canon.

Loved this game on the 3DS and it's even better on the switch. The graphics look crisp, although the frame rate dips occasionally, and the gameplay is fun and varied depending on the class you choose. Although the freemium concept gives this game a grinding curve, like its predecessor, I felt less held up by the bosses, and unlocking new weapons is still satisfying.
