Final Fantasy VII Rebirth10
Apr 11, 2024
One of the most beautiful games I have played. The expansion of the world of FF7 on show here is just astounding. Im not gonna lie the plot can be confusing at times near the end, the mini games annoying at times etc etc but the game still gets a 10/10 from me cause there is just so much to do, none of it boring, the combat is fantastic and the characters made me tear up a times. MORE TIFA!!!

Dead Space9

Wow, never played the original. In fact i returned the original to a used store after playing for 10-15 minutes causes it scared the crap out of me back in the day. This is such a amazing game, modern, sleek but weighty and impactful. Combat is deliberate (plasma cutter for the win even in the end game) the story is well paced and its just fun. What else is there to say.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion8
Apr 11, 2024
I loved playing through this. I never played the PSP version but loved it regardless. The only thing only it back id say is the randomness of the mind wave system and the mission design. As a game originally developed for a handheld system the missions are short and digestible but on console its a real grind. 300 missions for the plat is a real time sink. Loved it regardless, got the plat, killed the secret super boss

Alone in the Dark7

So I gave this a 7/10 but this is a really good 7/10. The combat is meh and the sound mixing is questionable but the plot hooks you and the constant shift in locales and the oppressive Depression era setting is just great. This is less survival horror and more action horror. So less Resident Evil and more Evil Within. Make sure you read all the notes, journal entries etc. to get the plot. The game expects you to act like a detective and piece things together as you find them cause the characters will acknowledge the clues you have picked up in conversation even if you didnt take the time to read them.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty10

Damn what a expansion. It flows so seamlessly into the fabric of the base game it is so easy to forget where the base game ends and phantom liberty begins. A def must play part of the cyberpunk experience.

Cyberpunk 207710
Apr 10, 2024
This review is based on my 2.0 playthrough. I played on PS5 after 2.0 and the various next gen updates. Suffice to say that the 2.0 version of Cyberpunk is friggin amazing compared to my launch playthrough. I like the launch version for what it was cause I could see the solid bones underneath all the crap but now the game has been polished to a sheen and def deserves a play.

Demon's Souls10
Nov 13, 2020
As a die-hard Souls fan you have no idea how happy this game makes me. I did not start playing Souls games until last year but when I did I instantly fell in love with them. The problem I've had since playing the original Dark Souls in January is that I was not getting that same feeling of nervousness terror and pipe all in one sitting that I did with the original Dark Souls from the follow-up titles Dark Souls 2 and bloodborne. I am happy to say however this Demon Souls remake really brings back that feeling and I cannot get enough of it.

The Last of Us Part II0
Jun 20, 2020
I played this in one sitting for twenty hours straight and it depressed the hell out of me. The game is not a zero that said it gets a five because it was able to only deliver half **** product. The gameplay is nothing new but is is polished and the graphic are the only standout thing. The story though is horrendous. It's like there is an awesome movie out there that everyone can agree is a classic and perfect on its own but someone in a office somewhere said "Hey let's make a sequel because money and make sure everyone we loved is now horrible or dead so there can be potentially another sequel" You only spend half the game playing as the characters you care about who are now **** and the other half playing as a horrible person that you are expected to identify with but you just want to not be playing as that character.

Resident Evil 310
Apr 3, 2020
This is a very good game that moves fast bust doesn't FEEL as short as it is. Too many people are bashing the game because its different than the 1999 RE3 without considering this is a remake no a remaster. Judging the game for what it is its fun and intense with only 1 moment in which i wasnt having fun, a wave fight which felt out of place. Id rate it a 8/10 with a +2 to offset the nonobjective crowd.

Octopath Traveler9
Jul 19, 2018
I have put about 10 hours into Octopath now and i can say without a doubt this is one of the best turn based JRPG's i've ever played. Honestly its even better than some of the old Final Fantasy games. 1. Mechanics The mechanics are smooth and feel great. Its a classic turn based system with the bar showing who turn it is and various action can effect battle order. It may play slow for those with no patience for this type of system but it looks great. Think the battle system from FFX with additional mechanics. 2. Graphics / Sound Honestly I was worried about going back to a 16 bit look but I was so wrong to worry. The Sprites are adorable and very expressive. Combine them with excellent lighting and haunting sound tract and you have got a recipe for success. I cannot believe how beautiful this game looks in a classic sense. Final Fantasy has gone for photo realism now adays and Dragon Quest is going with the anime look but Octopath say screw that I can make old school look cool. 3. Story The stories are very fun and sometimes haunting. I made a deeper emotional connection with some of the characters in the first few minutes than other video game protags after 15+ hours (Looking at you .Hack... so boring). Really this story was a breath of fresh air after the failures of most other games the past few years. I mean the big titles like GOW, Persona, Horizon, and Nier were all great but leave them behind and none of the non-AAA games really stood out to me UNTIL NOW. Summary: BUY BUY BUY. I give this game 9/10

Detroit: Become Human10
Jul 17, 2018
"OMG this game suks. I cant run or shoot things. This isnt even a game.... blah blah blah" SILENCE INFIDELS. Detroit is very much a video game and while no it is not the type of game you see every day that does not make it bad just... different. Detroit is a game created by the aggressively French David Cage and like all his other games if you are expecting fast paced action or a 40-hour story then you done F-ed up. Cage's games are made so that the player immerses themselves in the world and tries not to break immersion even for mundane task. His previous works include Heavy Rain (Great game with issues) and Beyond Two Souls (terrible game with issues). Detroit is his latest work and is the most technically improved game yet. 1. Graphics - Starting with the games biggest strong point is its graphics. Everything is stunning from the facial animations to the cityscapes to the thread count on the characters jackets. Things look as close to photo realistic in this game as they could be. My wife not knowing I was playing a game walked by during a cutscene and thought i was watching an episode of greys anatomy cause of Jesse Williams. Visuals cant be beat. 2. Story. The story is good but not great. This is a good setting and premise but there are alot a political boxes checked off that break immersion because you are slapped in the face by slavery allegories or "hands up dont shoot" references. This game was definitely written for the USA political climate of 2018. I dont know if it will age well but I can say as i was playing the game I enjoyed it. If you try to think to hard about all the real world politics involved THAT is what will make you enjoy the game less. If you sit down and enjoy the story for what it is with all the chases, heist, investigations, and daring escapes then you will have a good time. Remember its a game; have fun. Main characters are the games strong suits. I loved Kara and her maternal instincts, Marcus was alittle stiff but I attribute that more to Jesse Williams than to the writing (Sorry Jesse). My favorite character was Brian Decharts Connor. He and Clancy Brown made an awesome duo. 3. Mechanics. The mechanics were not that of an average video game. This is not an action game so I wish people would stop criticizing it for not being. What it is and an amalgam for and old point and click adventure and quick time events mixed with story driven choose your own adventure dialogue. In other words its very David Cage. The mechanics were alot smoother than in his previous games and while I do wish the characters could sprint sometimes when going from point A to B i am not complaining because the whole game has been carefully crafted for presentation. Conclusion: 10/10 when I appreciate it for what it is. Must Buy PS: After every chapter log out to the main menu to interact with Chloe. It is a big part of the experience that you can miss if you are not careful.

Adventures of Mana9
Jul 17, 2018
Having played the Both the original Final Fantasy Adventures back in the day and Secret of Mana on the NES I can tell you this definitely has the feel of a mana game and is worth the purchase. Like the Secret of Mana reboot for the PS4 this is not nearly as hard as the original. In fact if it suffers from anything it is being too easy. I cleared the game in about 13 hours with no grinding (something one expects from a JRPG) and while I am not dissatisfied I do thing there could have been a bit more strategy involved in the fighting mechanics especially the boss fights. I more or less cleared every boss (including the final boss) by just equipping the appropriate weapon and then going to town while spamming cure. The ease of the game aside I loved the game. The story is very familiar if you have ever played a final fantasy / mana game but it holds up well and as a Vita moible game Im very satisfied with the final product. I have heard some people criticize this game because it is a remake of Final Fantasy Adventures (Gameboy) and not Sword of Mana, which was a remake of Final Fantasy Adventures for the PS1 that had many story updates, new characters, and allowed for the player to choose two different gendered characters to play as. While Sword of Mana would have been a good game to remake I am not going to hold that against Adventures of Mana. This is a good remake of a specific game and I love it as it is not as I wish it could be. In conclusion: 9/10 Must buy

Mass Effect: Andromeda8

Game is absolutely beautiful and filled with vibrant scenes of color and imagination. No the game is not perfect, suffers from some poor character models, but other than that it has been a wild fun ride so far. The majority of people hating on the game it sounds like are not giving it a chance or trying to hold it up to too high of standard created by impatience and lack of focus. The production team stated from the very beginning that this id not part of the ME Trilogy apart and separate so they tried some new stuff.
