CG/special effects are marvelous. This interstitial Star Wars Saga is a perfect insert that adds dramatic guidance to the entire Stars Wars labyrinth. Other than the somewhat overwrought and at times confusing space battles, well done.

I had no idea all of these examinations of the competence, judgements and decisions of Sully were taking place behind the scenes as we regular folk out here were totally accepting of his heroic accomplishment. Wow! Knowing that he had so much more to endure after the fact was absolutely fascinating. Again incredible kudos to Clint Eastwood for another amazing film.

This was without question the finest talking animal film I've ever seen. (I'm 66) Disclaimer, I saw it in 3D which I highly recommend. Visuals were jaw-dropping. They did a presentation in real world realism that has heretofore only been possible in animation. A spectacular visual and a story filled with enough drama and moral themes for child and adult alike. This is an instant classic!

This 'would-be' very complicated dramatization of the 2008 meltdown was masterfully presented so that we could follow every progression of extreme fraud & malfeasance and utter clueless stupidity leading to the American taxpaying citizens taking it **** the shorts. I thought I was familiar with most of the basics as to how the meltdown occurred. Wrong. I was shown layers of greed bordering on evil I didn't know existed.

I saw the opening of the Empire Strikes Back when it opened in Hollywood at the then Graumann's Chinese theater. I waited in line for 3 hours. 35 years after that opening it's the only movie I've gone to see a record 5 times before it left the theaters. Today I saw its equal. Just the most awesome continuation of the authentic Star Wars spirit! Wow! Space movie CGI back in the 70's was of course state of the art. This is 2015! Holy Moly its got 2015 CGI, a great continuation story, a connection with the past iconic characters, and John Williams soundtrack. This is only most awesome!!!

Mark Sly for Best actor nomination. Story that had all the 'underdog overcoming adversity for a character you felt for' as the first Rocky. Great score, outstanding fight effects. A true joy to watch.

I love Daniel Craig as 007. I loved Pierce Brosnan as well. If Pierce was a Formula 1 race car, Daniel would be a Top fuel dragster. Both fun to watch in different ways. Spectre took a Top fuel dragster and tried to run it in the Monaco Grand Prix. The story was disjointed bordering on incomprehensible. The plot, if you can call it that, was slow as molasses in January. 007 was popping up all over Europe in scene after scene after scene instantly wearing dozens of wardrobes GQ magazine would envy, and all with only a duffel. At first it was campy 007 artistic license, but for me it became so obvious it became a mild distraction. There were way too many Sherlock Holmes-esque slow motion meanderings occasionally punctuated by gun fights that reminded me of Westerns from the 50's & 60's when the bad guy fired a thousand blanks and the good guy's bullets were real and unerring. The realism was squashed and the campy approach had been made inappropriate. Even the million dollar luxury sports car chase was a waste of million dollar sports cars. They didn't know the kind of movie they really wanted, and neither did I. The last 20 minutes and I was looking at my watch.

I expected terrific special effects and a story dedicated to the Antman comics tradition. I got plenty of the aforementioned in addition to continual out loud laughs due to unexpected self-deprecating humorous jewels. How refreshing and totally enjoyable. Another great Marvel package of thrills and beautifully blended amusement.

For context, I'm 65 and the original Jurassic Park/series was 20 yrs ago and I was a full fledged adult. It was awesome for me and my kids then, and I see no reason why this updated clone would not generate the same adrenalin for all. Note; I attended a 3D version of this classic re-invigoration and it was spectacular in that venue!

In spite of the spectacular and mesmerizing stunts and effects, in spite of an amazing Charlize Theron, my enjoyment was inhibited by other more internal feelings. First, it’s a dystopian world, squalor, misery, disease and oppression, I get it. However, these (and I use the word loosely) people, were so grotesque, so monstrous, so gruesome, so aberrant, they presented a world that I could not even root for the protagonists to survive in. It was such a world of dread and vulgar mutants my depression overwhelmed my ability to separate it out and simply enjoy the visuals. Speaking of visuals, there were stunts like we’ve never seen before. However, to achieve this never seen before quality, the stunts were totally preposterous. Every law of physics, gravity, logic, cause and effect, were breathtakingly violated. In this world seemingly comprised of only rabid dogs shaped into human form, who the hell refined the infinite amount of gasoline they used? Who were the mechanics and auto body experts that built and maintained all of the crap they used??? What did the multitude of thousands of depraved thirst starved inhabitants do when they were not all gathered at the rock tower of water dispensation? Farmers? Factory workers? Business owners? This world assaulted my logic to the degree that it pulled me out of the mindset the storyteller wanted me to lose myself in. Overall? Simply depressing.

Name the last science fiction pic whose producers simply give you one or two big names & a crapload of special effects & say "Enjoy!" Your brain needs its "A" game for this one. Asks the question, what is it that makes us truly human? At what point will we really blur the performance gap between ourselves and God? Every minute was thought-provoking, suspenseful, and yes, had technically elegant special effects. Best film I've seen in 2015.

I'm a senior citizen, single, no grand kids to accompany me, just me. My mom took me to see the Disney animated classic in the 50's. It has held a beautiful place in my heart ever since. I've seen many adaptations over the decades. None have ever matched this. This non-animated version for me was spectacular visually, moving, romantic, and sparked the flames in my heart from this legendary fairy tale I've held since I was seven. Could not have been done better!

If grit and unpleasant realism is your schtick, you may not enjoy this as much as I did. It was more than just a down and out coach transforms the hopeless into champions feel goodie. We've seen just that dozens of times. These characters are more in depth with a more realistic blend of schmaltz. The story behind many of America's American immigrants is enlightening and uplifting. And of course, there's Costner at his best and a healthy dose of feel good!

Many of today's top box office movies involve animated landscapes and whimsical creatures, CGI space aliens and spaceship tales. Whiplash is an emotional and personality driven clash of personalities. The performances are exemplary by the two leading men. If you are a music lover in general, this movie is totally absorbing. If you're a jazz fan (like me) it's off the charts!

As a single senior with no kids to accompany me to this well received animated wonderment, I was confident that this movie would entertain me in the same vein as The Lego Movie and Wreck It Ralph. I thought it was again built for kids with a sprinkling of adult concepts enough to emerge from childlike entertainment to amuse the adult funny bone throughout. Wrong! This is a kid's movie...period. Intense color, action, no logic to the story elements, just a kind of psychedelic splattering of stream of consciousness video game dream sequences. Over 18? Beware the waste of your movie dollar. Under 18? The action, state of the art animation, and absolute childlike fantasies brought to life, it's beyond loveable.

Interstellar was overwhelming upon first view. Of course I saw it in IMAX and I was still recovering on my drive home. I had questions I knew would require a second viewing. OMG it was so much more moving the 2nd time 4 days later. I won't pretend to understand the Bootstrap paradox. Nevertheless, spectacular!

This was film storytelling at its best. Hanks was spot-on and made Walt Disney live again. This film was emotional, heartwarming and captivating. Emma Thompson will be Oscar nominated w/o a doubt. A must see!

The well was poisoned for me. 1. Capt Phillips story is totally fabricated by Hollywood. The crew hated him and have filed lawsuits against the movie's story. To please his bosses Phillips ventured to within 250 miles of the coast even though he had incessant advance warnings to stay beyond 600 miles! 2. Helpless non-armed million dollar ships deserve whatever they get if they don't arm themselves in any way and choose to cower like scared church mice in a dark corner when danger threatens. Phillips fired flares at the approaching pirates. No, not joking, that's how pathetic this is. Only thing acceptable about the movie were the production values and Tom Hanks' actual performance as fantastically made up as it was.

As a mature male that enjoys movies, attending 1-2 every week, I blanched every time I saw the preview to the upcoming Don Jon. All I got from it was a movie about porn addiction, period. Mentally I wrote it off. Today I made a critical mistake. I normally don’t read the reviews of movies I know don’t give me a single spark of interest, only the sparky ones. Alas, the reviews were surprisingly acceptable and I went to a morning matinee. What a waste. It was a movie about porn addiction of course, but I assumed from the reviews there were many redeeming qualities and growth in the characters included. WRONG! Joseph Gordon-Levitt & his father Tony Danza were simply vacuous, crude, foul-mouthed and valueless all the way to the closing credits. There was zero empathy or sympathy and not a hint of anyone being a protagonist. I not only did not care about the males in this film, I was repulsed by them. The Catholic sacrament of “confession” was treated like an irrelevant waste basket for immoral behavior rather than anything sacred or religious and demanding of sincere repentance as it does in real life. Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore performances were very good actually. This movie had one theme and one theme only…promiscuitypornpromiscuityporn. I spent the last 30 minutes mentally flipping a coin on whether to just get up and leave. I stayed because I wanted to write an honest review on a complete product. On the way out a group of five in front of me complained out loud about their waste of time and money on that piece of trash. I chimed in with them as we left the theater.
