A fun game when it first game out, but such a shame it never really improved beyond a few hero updates. It quickly became stale and no better than any other game. Overwatch 2 was the lid on the coffin that sealed this game away forever. Such a shame that a game which so much potential went the way of Bioshock Infinite, only remembered for its "innovations" in animations.

An excellent sequel to the other uncharted games, perfectly updated for the current console age. The gameplay feels great, with both the classic uncharted gunplay and the new grapple hook movement mechanics especially. The story also takes an unexpected turn from the other uncharted games. It is in many ways, a perfect sequel, innovating on the previous games and making it feel new and fresh while containing enough of the original to feel like the perfect next step. It also feels like the perfect capstone for Nathan Drake as a character, while still leaving room for more uncharted games in the future. A must play for anyone who has enjoyed any of the previous uncharted games.

I almost feel remorseful giving this game a 7/10, but I can't bring myself to rate it any higher. When this game originally came out, it was almost certainly a 10/10 game, a masterclass in design and unlike anything else at the time. However, compared to the games of the day, and rated as a ps4 game as a remaster, it just does not hold up. Most of the game feels clunky and confusing. The colossi are difficult to find, and alot of the time it feels confusing to fight them. Their weak points feel like they are stumbled upon or brute forced into. I have heard others praise this game for it style, innovation and care put into it. This is the reason the remaster receives even as high a score. while I'm sure the original game deserves an 11/10, this remake does not holdup to modern scrutiny. It is only the afterimage of a amazing game that gives it the 7/10.

A fun game that surprisingly improves upon the first one in many ways. New characters, maps, game modes and more. It does everything a good sequel should, even as the plants be zombies first person shooter sequel. If you want to know what kind of game this is, just watch the “Cob for the job trailer”. Truly surreal.

A fine game, though one that quickly gets repetitive and boring after the first few matches. The guns and abilities are interesting, though the lack of variety means even if you mix it up, it doesn’t feel much different. Overall, it’s crazy this game is probably remembered more favorably than battlefront 2.

My brain has erased nearly all memories of this game, and looking at the reviews I think it did it for a reason. Only thing I recall is accidentally burning down a building because the game didn’t explain how to save people.

Journey is one of those games where you either see it as one of the most fulfilling and artistic games you’ve ever played, or as a piece of art you just can’t understand the hype around. Or maybe you’re like me, and have it as 8 of one and 2 of the other. Journey is indeed a beautiful game, where the environments you take are more important than the goal your are moving towards. There are multiple wonderful parts to this adventure, and I think it’s best to leave most of them to be discovered on your own. However, I am not in the camp of this being one of the greatest games ever made. While it is beautiful, it is also incredibly short. This means there is little attachment to the main character or the world. This, to me, is the games biggest flaw. It shows you this beautiful inactivate world with a character that is moving towards something, but does to little to actually invest you in the “journey” you are on. This isn’t to say it ruins the game, but could have easily pushed the game to an 11/10 if it was there. As it stands, Journey is still a game that makes a great play for a rainy afternoon or snowy **** can be a great way to take a step back, and enjoy a game, just for the act of playing it.

Ratchet & Clank (PS4)

Ratchet and Clank is a series well known to anyone who has used a PlayStation console. The previous Ratchet and clank games are examples of innovation and great gameplay melded together into one package. As a 3d action platformer, Ratchet and Clank for the ps4 does a great job at making a snappy game with fun combat and lots to do while making your way through the main story. Unfortunately ,as a follow up to the titanic Ratchet and Clank franchise, it falls a bit flat. Graphics are excellent with great artstyle, characters are just as fun as they’ve been in past games and gameplay is as well. There though, lies the problem. This game is very well known as a reboot of the original Ratchet and Clank and while it holds up, it doesn’t do anything to innovate from the previous games. With so many games in the series, it means that only people who have never played a Ratchet and Clank game before would find this game new or interesting. I myself was in this category, and it was only after seeing what the previous games contained that I realized how similar the ps4 version was. Overall, I think it’s better to view this installment as more like an homage to the original than a brand new game. It is a fun platformer, and well worth the price of $20, but isn’t much more than that. While it is a shame this iteration of Ratchet and Clank probably won’t be remembered as more than a ps4 port, there are certainly worse ways to remake a game.

A forgotten but good game, this is an excellent entry as a “starter” into the shooter genre of games. Most of the mechanics are easy to pickup on, and different characters from both sides are all unique in their own way. The 2 player endless mode is also fun if you want to just mess around with a buddy or sibling and fight waves of enemies. I have fond memories of playing this when I was younger and it teaching me the basics of shooters. While I recognize this game is not perfect, it is very repetitive and the hero choose becomes lacking after several games, it still deserves to be remembered as a unique entry into the shooter genre. It’s 8/10 can be attributed mostly to nostalgia, but also to a game that was made well despite no one asking for it.

A fine game, fun for the first hour or so. The Gameplay does get old fast, and unless you’re really intogames that exclusively involve driving and shooting, then this game probably won’t be more than a fun 30 minutes. If you got it way back when it was free on PS+, then it’s worth a download and play. Otherwise, it’s a 6/10 game the doesn’t deserve more than a short play.

Knack

Knack is a game that has already been criticized by a number of reviewers, players and influencers alike. The game is average in almost every way, and does nothing to innovate or use its surprisingly decent graphics. This is the one good thing about the game, it looks great. The art style is good and the player character Knack meshes with the style well, being made up of hundreds of smaller objects is an interesting concept. Unfortunatly, the game does almost nothing interesting with it. There are a few small instances where Knack uses his “relics” to transverse the map in an I treating way, but most of the time he stays in his massive bulky form. This could be made up for if Knack was an interesting character, but he is an incredibly flat character, as is nearly every one in this game. Almost every character could be described in a single word, if you remember they exist at all. The gameplay too, is boring. With little to no improvements to the moveset or powers after the first hour, the game quickly becomes a slog to finish. There are collectibles scattered throughout the game and they actually give unique powers or bonuses to the player which is always a plus. It’s a shame they are all very unfun to use, and hard to find as all the collectible locations randomize which “shard” you receive. Overall The game can, much like everything in it, be described in one word. Average. Nothing more, nothing less. It isn’t so bad it’s good, it isn’t a hate play, it just isn’t anything. It’s like a ghost of an interesting idea that just couldn’t be finished. The only reason I could recommend this game is if it was either on sale, free, or if you want to make fun of it with some friends. However, this dead horse probably deserves to stop being beaten, mostly because there isn’t enough left to beat on. It’s 5/10 score isn’t deserved for the work that some talented artists put in designing knack, but it is deserved for everything else about the game.

When this game was released in 2014, I remember it being one of the greatest things I’d ever seen. The graphics were amazing, the gameplay was fluid and the story was great. Upon replay after the games 10th anniversary, a surprising amount still holds up. The game looks good even after a decade, and the Seattle environment both looks and feels alive. The gameplay holds up well too, though enemies do get repetitive with only a few different types. The story I feel has suffered the most with time, while my younger self was dazzled by the plot, I now find the overall story is a bit bland. Delsin Rowe is an excellent protagonist and one of my favorite video game characters overall. His dry humor and interactions with the other characters in the game is reminiscent of the edgy protagonists of many 2000 era games without being overwhelming. However, many of the plot points can be seen coming and while I love the honor system, it has its flaws. The fact that you are locked into one ending no matter what choises you make after the first one. I must give this game props for being connected to the Infamous universe, but being its own game. You can play through the entire game with no previous knowledge of the series and still have a great time. To cap it all off, the game isn’t to hard to 100%, requiring at minimum 2 playthroughs to get all the trophies. The hardest difficulty is far from easy, but after a first playthrough there are only a few fights that are truly brutal. Summarized, It’s a game I hold dear to my heart, and a classic for the ps4. I strongly recommend it so anyone who enjoys action games, the infamous series, or the city of Seattle. An 8/10 is it’s deserved score, even if in my heart it’s still a 10/10.
