Starship Troopers - Terran Command6
Oct 15, 2022
Well, to be honest it's not "That" bad but it's rather a mixed bag of fairly good and failed elements altogether. To be fair, this game was delayed and it shows. For the game this is what stood out for me: The pathfinding is horrendous, and the responsiveness of troops is all but fine too (get over here damn it, no wa.. aahh ****) Oh great, there goes half of my army.. There's NO GORE.. (nor does it have persistent bodies/corpses or destructible environments) The Dev defends this by saying there is, but honestly you can't see any limbs flying, heads being ripped off, innards being torn out etc. Nothing of which the movie made it so epic for me personally. Yes, of course it's perfect for 5-8 year olds but that's far below my 'current' mental status (so no, i'm not amused). The bugs are mindless critters that always follow the same predictable routes and can't even climb cliffs in order to flank or surprise you!! How is this even possible in 2022?! The combat is bland and boring.. The best troops are only available to you near the end of the game (makes kinda sense). However most of the other units are just meh, and you can't create a bond with them since they're totally expendable and don't traverse from mission to mission!! (And they don't shut up ever!! Repeating those same APE-ish lines over and over!!) The same goes for the 'repeating' missions.. You either defend or clear caves, and that's basically it for 15-20 hours. No space battles, no real sense of greater or off-worldly events, thus making you feel bored and annoyed rather quickly impo. There's no real base building, however you can construct some turrets here and there (don't expect much from it tho). The game has a fairly good story campaign, and the narration is not bad.. Although i hate it (absolutely hate) it that missions are cut short because of that!! When things get fun, it comes to an abrupt halt. Boom, mission over.. Good job! It mostly feels you're only playing ****.. Where's the rest?! Credits rolling.. Okay, guess that's it! Graphically and musically wise it's an okay game, nothing to write much about either. It does the job, albeit simplified and not without the occasional glitch here and there.. There's no point playing it more than once tbh, although the devs have revealed that more content is on the way (skirmish and whatnot)..

Borderlands 37
Jun 4, 2022
In design Borderlands 3 is in fact a great game (8+/10) yet the game still has connection issues (Epic) and various bugs that still haven't been ironed out. Some features are annoying such as accessing the unlocks with the messaging system etc. This could have been made more simplified impo. However my main gripe has to be the cringiness of the characters and boring story, therefore this lowers the score a bit for me personally. However, as a pure looter shooter BDL3 is one of the best, and truth be told, i even think it exceeds the previous games. The fact that they cut some parts out of the story and sold it separately (not referring to season pass) also doesn't help. I personally hate this cash grabbing scheme a whole lot! So in all fairness i would rate this game between 7.5 and 8 but not above because it's overall lacking in several ways. However i can only speak for the PC version on Epic, so it might be a bit better on other programs and whatnot. But for me, it's certainly not going to be as memorable as with the previous titles so yeah it is what it is. The game is great, yet not as epic as could be for me.

Diablo II: Resurrected7
Oct 15, 2021
Being a old school and long time Diablo 2 player, i will say it's the game i used to love and play way back in the day. However it seems they didn't fix some of the issues it had since then, which at times is pretty annoying, especially if you consider paying money for this game (40 Euros isn't cheap tbh). It's because i would have liked seeing them release a fixed version (i still have all my old and later disc / dvd copies) for that amount but unfortunately they haven't done so yet. There might be fixes or patches coming to address the faulty hitboxes and pathfinding issues etc it currently has a lot of. Other than that, it's a fairly stable game with a steady player base, and the entire game including expansion to keep you busy with for quite some time even for casual players.. I'll rate it 7/10 but that's because i loved the original which to me personally is still a far better version, and the 2008 version is actually better than this one as well, no lie i can play it perfectly on Windows 10 without that much adjustment needed to run it smooth as butter and on 1080p. But hey, hopefully this game gets the help where it needs and afterwards i'll gladly rate it higher than a 7/10. For now, i just can't but nonetheless i'm enjoying Diablo 2 Resurrected despite its flaws.

King's Bounty II7
Aug 25, 2021
King's Bounty 2: (is a mixed bag in all honesty) To me it's a rather nice game actually, and i enjoy it although admittedly using a controller takes a little bit more time getting used to. Also, there are some graphical and sound issues from time to time, but currently nothing that ruins the game for me personally. Moving the camera around, positioning units and effectively zooming in or out takes a bit of getting used to as well. The troop rosters, layouts, stats, magic library (learning stuff etc) and the lot are a bit different than we were used to but i think it's fine once you get the hang of it.. People are so easy to complain and judge nowadays without even trying first... It's nice having the option to explore freely on foot or horseback, while there are plenty of locations with puzzles and loot to be found doing so. The horse's movement is a bit simplified (doesn't allow you to walk backwards) but while holding a button it's movements become far better controllable imho. Furthermore the graphics are okay, and so are the overall sounds and musical score albeit not outstanding in any regard. (Edit: i've yet to encounter a single crash - 10 hours in and counting)* It's also worth mentioning that the game needs some additional polish and fine tuning (patches etc). I'm currently giving this game a "half" recommendation but it should be mentioned that i aswell expected far more than this, so the recommendation should be met with a little bit of caution so to speak. One hour in, and i'm enjoying the game so far honestly..* Is it worth it's current asking price, NO! I'd say 30-ish for the normal edition sounds about right to me. Might it get better due to continiously updating and patching? Well, i can only hope so, because this game certainly has potential to be rated higher. That's it so far after my first and quick session. Hopefully others might also have a more open view about this game as i have. Current score: 7/10 (moderately recommended)

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition8
Oct 16, 2020
A quick review (personal experience): The game runs fine on my computer tbh, so i don't know why many others are complaining about their own negative experience with it so far? (if i do notice changes or whatever, i'll surely add them here down below in due time..) That being said, it looks rather nice and sounds great as well. (no problems with optimization as of yet?) My rig isn't the newest or best to say the least and the settings were auto set to High (didn't change a thing).. I'm currently enjoying myself playing AoE 3: Definitive Edition. (i do own previous disk copies from way back in the day) But as with all newly released titles, updates and patches need to be given early so everyone could enjoy it equally much. Let's hope there's more to this game than just a "unoptimized" cash grab for us oldtimers (like me) and newcomers alike. So, as said above, i'll add more to this review as the game progresses. (in either good or bad times..) As promised, a little update: Having noticed that the pathfinding has some issues and there are some minor graphical glitches to be seen at times, i know (or expect) most of them will likely get ironed out with the coming patches.. I'm not entirely sure (i'm not a games developer etc) how deep this goes into the coding, but let's hope and see if the devs are indeed still actively seeking for any possible solutions to whatever issues this game might have.

Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars6
Sep 19, 2020
Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, the RANT review: Having played the beta for over 20 hours (i had to push myself tbh) it already was clear that this game would fall short. The concept is nice tho, i won't deny it, but the execution is very poorly done to say the least! (they basically left the beta running for over 6 months while changing little to nothing, how or why one does that goes beyond my comprehension?) This game tries so hard but delivers little, making it look, act and feel underqualified & unpolished in pretty much all aspects. (confirmed: missing card mechanics, disappearing units, corrupted save/load files, etc..) It has choppy/glitchy motion & user interfaces, little to no real strategic values, bland and boring maps, not to mention the severe lack of diversity for 'terrain & cover systems' and whatnot (which does practically nothing for archer/ranged types). Unit types that are not offering much, except some basic stats like buffs & boons even on highest tier and leveling them up should also have been made more transparent. Terrible story, bad acting, uninspiring voices (grunting and moaning basically) low quality FMV, mindless plot,.. Boring!! (Ooh, i would almost forget to mention about the awkward camera movement or functionality.. It's as if you're always mistaking left from right by the simplest of actions!) The battle maps pretty much all look the same really, they're way too small, feel overly cramped, are full of stupid choke points to get bogged into, and offer practically zero contribution to the trategic value of the game (in other words, potential wasted).. It's also worth mentioning that whenever an enemy lord plays a card, you need to focus in quickly or miss it, leaving you wondering what he/she actually played?! The soundtrack (strong point) and overall visuals aren't bad, i'll give them that. But as the game stands now, there's plenty of patching and polishing up to do in order to make things look, feel and behave like it should because my impression is that at some time during the development they ran out of steam (or didn't even care to read our comments) and decided to just leave it at that. This concludes my rant for now but no doubt i'll be back after delving longer into this abyss of boredom and bugginess.. Personal verdict: 6'5/10 (generously overrated) Not recommended for the current asking price!! Ps: Launch day was horrible (missing dlcs etc)!!

Having played the game for like 10 hours and helped others how to fix the black bars resolution problem, things started to go down hill pretty fast. At first i thought i was in the clear and pretty much enjoying myself, when suddenly "unexpected exception" errors occurred causing the game to crash to desktop. Usually it helps to reload but only 10 minutes further in the game will crash again, and again.. For those wondering how to remove the black bars. Just set the ingame resolution to >1280x960< instead of 1920x1080 and above.. So, i had to thumb it down on Steam afterwards which pretty **** being a long time gamer and fan of the series. Hopefully someone (if not Square Enix) will be able to patch where most needed, because playing the game in this state is just not worth it for me personally.. A shame really...

Warhammer: Chaosbane6
May 31, 2019
Warhammer Chaosbane (my personal, early opinion review) I actually really like this game and it's only been 2 hours since i started playing (without any boosters etc.) with an Elven Ranger (1st. character i chose) and she's already at lvl 13. (good build for starters) At the beginning of the tutorial you might have a feeling that the game starts off kinda slow, but i knew it was specifically designed that way so i just took it from there.. (As i recall, this was similar to Diablo 2 & 3 so we shouldn't complain about that) Now after 2 hours in, things are becoming faster, and harder which of course is only for the better.. Speaking of better, these few hours have greatly exceeded my expectations about this game (i did not play the beta etc.) but i will say this to all my friends and readers alike, play this game with an open mindset and don't compare it too much with Diablo, Torchlight or Grim Dawn etc. because if you can't detach yourself from it, you might eventually be somewhat disappointed. So after these few hours i'm yet to encounter any bugs (small, big, or crippling) (while using a Xbox 360 controller) and i will also say that the sound/music is really great, the graphics are dark, gritty and gloomy (very nice), it has some physics and of course tons of blood and gore! (yet it always stays perfectly tasteful) The game is really easy and fun to pick up, and has so many cool features which you can freely unlock and upgrade as soon as you level up (still depending on requirements of course). The character building (attributes, skills, equipment stats etc. are all easily comprehensible (a bit diablo lite esque), yet the game also offers a welcomed crafting/boosting mechanic that allows you to further improve your character's stats. You can also trade (instead of selling) no longer/unwanted stuff for bonus experience/upgrades and in some cases rare items etc. The story is very well implemented, but don't expect true greatness such as Diablo 3 has to offer because you need to consider the amount of time and resources Blizzard has compared to Eko Software. (no need to draw a picture there) All in all, i'm pleasantly surprised about this game and i hope in time the reviews get better and the sales will go up as well, so maybe a worthy sequel could be due in a year or two (who knows)? To conclude, i will happily recommend this game to anyone with an open mindset who's willing to play, and keep doing so even after the 2 hour refund mark. (and hopefully the devs will not abandon this game any time soon..) Giving it a personal thumbs up and a score of 8.0/10

.hack//G.U. Last Recode8
Jan 19, 2019
This is a collection of 4 games (technically 3 games and a short epilogue). Even if you're unfamiliar with the .hack series you can jump in without having to worry as the few bits and pieces that relate to the anime and previous series are explained. The series is a story focused action RPG, the combat system is simple but remains entertaining throughout most of the 4 games as there is new elements being introduced each game. I'd say it's a middle ground between your run of the mill action RPG and hack'n slash like DMC. You can string combos, interrupt enemies but there's also spells and status effects. Don't get your hopes up though, even if I used DMC as an example it's nowhere near as developed, there's only 1 combo per weapon and 2 types of attack (regular and charged). Even if fighting is serviceable it's obvious the main attraction is just progressing through the story which is what will probably make or break the game for you. Even if most characters are what you'd find in a typical battle shonen manga the biggest positive is that the story spans 4 games, so each character gets their bit of development. Whether you like the characters themselves will be up to your tastes, as I said if you've consumed a lot of japanese media you will find the most common archetypes. The character design is sort of all over the place and even if there's furry and fujoshi(t) influences, I think some of them are pretty great. Even if I didn't like some characters looking like the Insane Clown Posse at first, I got used to it. The biggest complaint I'd levy against the game is that it sometimes feel like they put so much in the story, cutscenes and voice acting that the gameplay is "stretched" to make the games as long as possible. I am mostly referring to the fact that there is little variety in environments and enemy types (although they get a lot of different models and skins) and yet you'll spend a lot of time in there. This isn't really the case in the volume 1&2 but gets noticeable in 3&4 where you'll go through 3 floors of a dungeon for a small dialog between characters. Side note if you're a completionist, the 100% in the game is really tedious as hell. Part of it involves getting all the items in each volume (some of them requiring to trade with a very specific character out of 200) or even going in and out of an area/dungeon dozens of times hoping for something to be there. If you're the kind of person that absolutely needs to 100% everything, you aren't going to have a good time. Personal score: 8/10 Highly recommended for newcomers and old school minded JRPG fans.

Resident Evil 7: biohazard9
Oct 12, 2017
Long time since i've written a review here but this game deserves one, and an honest one to be more pricise! In short, this game is a new way to experience Resident Evil so it was to be expected that many fans would resent the old style being changed. However changes can in some cases still be very good in order to give players new ways of interacting with the story. The good thing about this story is that you don't need to know the previous stories which have been told since Resident Evil 1. The gameplay has been fully made first person and the story has been written in chapters that will be done seperately throughout the entire game. The game takes approximately 4 hours (speed run) to complete, however you can easily double that amount and then some if you really want to find and do everything in it. The graphics are good (nothing fancy) however there are reports about stutter around the dining table scene but that can be helped by turning off certain shader options within your graphical program (it works better than ingame settings impo). Truth be told, i've not seen any stutter like mentioned above in my current 16 hours of playtime. It does however affect your overal fps quite a bit if you max out all your settings without paying close attention to the pros & cons that might come with it so keep that in mind or it'll ruin your experience as i've read on Steam plenty of times over. Also if you don't like backtracking, this game might not be to your liking because you'll have to do plenty of that as well! The pacing is not that fast, even when running so don't be upset about the way the story goes and the time you need to travel on foot.. The inventory can and will luckily be increased depending on what you've discovered throughout the game, so you will in fact have the largest inventory available to you if you compare it with the inventories of previous Resident Evil games. There are plenty of tools for crafting, upgrading, and reforging. You will have herbs, pills, heath potions and many other stuff at your disposal. Weapons are varied, but not in large numbers so use them wisely. Difficulty wise there are a few modes in the beginning of the game, but you can adjust them additionally after completing the game if you want to challenge your skills even further. This review will not go into every detail because i don't want to spoil too many things, and i don't want to mention about the characters or the initial story for that matter. Personally i think it's better to be oblivious about the game and get into it without expecting too much at first. Just keep an open mind and take it from there. What else can i say? Well, would i rate 10/10? Hmm, honestly it deserves at least 8.5/10 and i'm also happily giving a GOTY reward in it's own class. However i already put 16 hours into it after 2 days, i must say that doesn't happen all too often these days, so i will rate this game a solid 9/10! Don't take my word for it guys, but try it out for yourselves okay. Just make sure you are in the clear of running this game optimized, so do your homework or better yet make sure your rig is well optimized before playing.. Have fun!

Rogue Wizards8
Oct 12, 2017
Hi guys, let's discuss Rogue Wizards for a bit here shall we.. First of all, this game reminds me greatly of the 'Braveland Trilogy' and that being said you can already create a pretty good idea about, ''if you're actually going to like it or not'' because i know such games might be a bit too boring for some.. I'm a bit **** so i guess i couldn't go wrong with owning a copy of this nice looking and fun to play game. But again, it's just like i said before, you'll either going to love or hate it but that doesn't make this a bad game if you don't like it. And that's precisely why i'm letting you guys know, why i personally like this game a lot. Let's talk about the graphics: The game looks pretty nice and cartooney (like Braveland and such) and the animations are nicely done although don't expect blitzes all over the screen or bright flashes because this game is by all means not a AAA graphical masterpiece! But all in all, it looks pretty nice, it doesn't glitch and it works well with everything else.. So what's not good about that, right? Let's talk about the music/sound: The music for this game is pretty much kept simple although the tunes are catchy and the animation/effects etc all sound just as one would expect from such a game. It works pretty well together impo. Now let's talk about the gameplay: The gameplay is set up in turnbased mode as soon as you encounter enemies or obstacles such as hidden traps etc. The grid/map is also devided in tiles, so each step you make will be on one of those tiles each turn. While in battle (outside battle those limitations are absent) you'll need to do some planning as to whether to move, change weapons, cast spells or heal yourself during the turn/time you're given. Everything is done in steps so make note of that when you're used to playing a dungeon crawler and you like to rush in like Rambo because this is not such a game.. You will be whimpy at first, but soon enough you'll be wearing nice armor, wielding massive weapons and using destructive spells (you can explore, craft/sell stuff) all at the same time which i personally think is a really nice way to let you as a player experiment freely. Also you'll earn a ton of experience along the many main and sub quests, so each time you earn a level up you can invest those points into 3 separate skills such as Power, Finesse, and Stamina. (and you'll unlock more buildings along the way too that upgrade/sell you all kinds of neat stuff..) There are 3 primary character based skills, namely: 'Power, Finesse and Stamina'.. Power: Speaks for itself as it will allow the player to boost the strength of the character, including increasing the damage output for all his attacks. Finesse: Is your basic dodge, shield, luck counter that will affect pretty much everything you do so don't ignore that skill! Stamina: Works hand in hand with Power, because both make sure you can remain longer in tough battles while making it possible to dish out a world of hurt to those that seek to end you (it's a Roguelike right).. However, you're always accompanied by 1 or two minions etc that can usually hold their own pretty well, unless cornered by bosses or packs of poisonous blobs etc. After completing missions you will be rewarded by gaining additional magic points that you can freely spend in the magic skills department which is always helpful when you would or better said will be encountering tougher enemies and bosses. Note that each enemy has resistances and weaknesses so make sure to spend those points at the earliest sign you're encountering foes that are immune to your current skill/weapon sets etc. Don't worry though, because you can freely adjust your character within any level so just keep your eyes open when you're facing an enemy because it will be made clearly visible as to what his/her strengths and weaknesses are. I can say much more about this fun game, but it is probably best that i don't spoil you guys too much and so all that's really left for me to say is, get the game at a sales and play it just like i did and hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as i do too. Personal/Value Score 82/100

Soooo' good that i'm back in the "One More Turn" phase all over again.. And this time it's even better than ever!!! Running it on a modest rig: I7 4790K. W10 Pro. 16GB RAM. EVGA GTX 1070 SC Black 8GB. All set according to optimal settings and running really smoothly, well above 80 fps at most times even on the larger scale battles. Note: (I personally have not yet encountered any game breaking bugs etc whatsoever.) For my short review i can only currently say this: The overall graphics to me are looking very bright and beautiful just the way they should be. Sound wise it's also really well done and it adds nicely to the TW:W2 concept as a whole. The campaign has a lengthy tutorial based system which i suspect can get annoying but personally i don't mind it at all here. This game will again be really huge with all the additional content being released soon, so i'm already looking forward to that myself. Hopefully the pricing won't be the only element to spoil a great deal of fun i've been having with this amazing game so far. I bought/preordered the game a bit cheaper online, and got a nice TW:W1 Norsca dlc in addition to that.. Thus i can't be anything else but overjoyed by this awesome deal that i made and i already know i won't even regret it one tiny bit. It's a really great game guys trust me on this one,.. Do yourself a real favor and just buy it and have fun!!! Personal score: 87/100

Shadows of Adam8
Sep 20, 2017
Hi all, Let me say a little something about Shadow of Adam: This lovely game really deserves to get more attention and people who like to play and purchase old school feel, retro snes type games. It's a basic old school rts that's not telling a compellingly deep story, but it's still good to follow through nonetheless. The graphics i personally think are very well done and really add to that classic feeling from the past. The game is not that lengthy (9-12h) depending on your playstyle it could be a bit more, but the developers are including new dlcs as we speak (Oct. 2nd 2017) which will add to the overall enjoyability and length of the game including new features and whatnot. The sound/music is overall enjoyable too, but please also note it's similar to those scores and sounds from way back in the snes/Super Nintendo days.. So they've basically kept it all as real as possible which to me just adds to the whole as a retro game should be in the end. (But i know it will not fancy everyone who isn't yet as old als me) ^_^ To conclude, it's a very enjoyable game guys but keep in mind that this game offers nothing spectacular, however what if does offer works very well together as a whole and it's very stable on whatever system you like running it on. The developers are all very nice and responsive to feedback and offer help as soon as they can, which is always a really nice way to support the future projects for this developing team. There's still more to say about this game obviously, but i'm not a man of many hints or spoilers so i can only advice others to check out the game (it's also offering regular discounts etc) and it's not expensive to get at all considering what you get in return. Give it a try guys, and thumbs up if you like it and if not well refund it for something else (Steam). Cheers!

Sudden Strike 47
Aug 22, 2017
Whilst not the best of the series, it's still a huge improvement over the last (sudden strike 3). The graphics are beautiful (although the zooming is rather limited) and the effects are good too. The sound and music are very well implemented into the game and work quite nicely together. (the voice acting could have been more realistic tbh, but that is just my opinion) The campaigns (3 in total) are good fun, although not that difficult or super interesting within Sudden Strike 4 to be honest and i feel that they could have done better although it still is fun to play. The Skirmish aspect is very limited and unbalance at this time which is a shame really because i personally love playing skirmishes against a good balanced AI. (there are also too few missions available impo) The overall AI is not too bright either in the single player campaigns which also limits my personal joy and amusement by quite a bit (until patched/improved).. The multiplayer aspect is currently the worst factor by far, but given the fact that the devs clearly have stated it's not their main concern, i will allow them some time to look it over and reconsider if they would fix/improve it with the upcoming patches and dlcs.. The use of a controller would have been great if the bugs would have been fixed by the time of my writing, but sadly it's still work in progress.. I think they might have been better of sticking to mouse and keyboard, but it should work for me when it's optimized at least.. Overall an enjoying game with nice graphics, sounds and plenty of missions. The price is debatable and i would say buy it, try it or refund it if you need to. One more thing, i'll also advice to consider getting it with a discount or sales because 50$ on Steam is a bit too much in my personal opinion. I'm rating it a solid 75/100.

This is a personal opinion, so i will not speak for everyone saying this is a really good game and you should get it yourself.. Having said that, it really is a solid game imo, but it's not yet perfect in any way tbh. What i do hope is that there will be further plans to expand this game into a long going franchise, such as C&C from way back in the days.. With these expansions they might also try to include more worlds, and races, and it wouldn't hurt if they could make the pace slightly faster ect. I like the game so far, but there are some things that i think they could have done better, yet they most likely will improve the game after the following months.. Also mods are most likely to implement cool new additions, and there's an editor which we all can use ourselves, if we have the know how ect.. Anyway, to conclude i would rate it 8.5/10 but because i can't give half a point, i will just make it an even *9/10. Not perfect, but i do believe things will surely be improved later on.. Well done, Petroglyph!

Sadly to say this game has some major flaws whilst being a DLC it rewrites previous accomplishments thus removing precious content like skins, commanders, ect... Save files become corrupt ect as well, which is very unacceptable in this day and age.... I would have liked to rate it higher, but this is as generous as i can possibly make it! I really hope the devs are willing to fix this mess really quickly...... *This is ultimately the last time i've put my money into one of their products*

Having played all games throughout the years one can only honestly say that this franchise has come (and gone) a long way... Sadly for me personally, it looks obvious where Blizzard is taking us with both Diablo & Starcraft.. To me it looks like they're wanting to become like EA more and more every time they release a game or more so an expansion... I agree on one thing though, if the game has some flaws, fix it or at least try to. They have done so, but by doing that they've pretty much thrown most of the things i so heavily worked for out of the window (i never bought stuff with cash).. i also don't like the fact that they're putting such a high price tag on expansions, while they give so little in return? But hey, if that doesn't bother you, then it's fine by all means right! As for now, I'm not convinced this is the right way to go with this franchise. Therefore 7/10 because of the love of the franchise.. D1* 9/10 D2* 10/10 D3* 7/10
