Primordia8

An incredible piece of interactive story telling: Primordia is a beautifully executed example of simpler game mechanics. The artistic direction and plot are rich and immersive, and with a beautiful soundtrack to accompany it, the game is a real treat. The detailed world and excellent characters allow you to ignore the two weak points of the game; the inconsistent and clunky controls, and the seemingly impossible task of progressing through the game at certain points. Primordia and its soundtrack are a must buy.

From the first loading screen to the conclusion of the story, this game is absolutely terrifying. A stressful, and at times a downright unpleasant experience. Which is surely what we want from a survival horror? This is without a doubt the best horror game I've ever played, with a lovely story that has the richness and depth of a novel. I would have liked to have some replay value in it, but, I suppose you can't expect that from an interactive story. That's the only reason this doesn't get a perfect 10.

Read all the negative reviews to get a good idea of what this game is about. Full of promise but none of that promise was delivered upon. There's much talk about the 'revolutionary' features of the game, but noone really wants to actually talk about what they are and whether they work. It seems to me that, for a game to have moons crashing into planets and a 'true' 3D playing field Uber felt they had to jettison everything else that could have made this game good or have any strategy whatsoever. The units are boring and you'll find yourself only using one unit in each tech level because the others are a waste. Huge disappointment and waste of money.
