Playing on a PS5 Pro, so taking that into mind, this game is phenomenally good. I can understand the frustrations if playing on a base model or series s but I’m rating if from how I experience it. Sure it has some mild frustrations with gear systems but it’s mostly due to it being something new and is easy enough to get your head around. I’ve seen reviewers criticise the story or “lack thereof”, but it’s actually pretty decent. Reviewers raved about TotK which was just an extended DLC with little to no story and a protagonist that didn’t talk In a fast open world. By comparison, CD has solid voice work, a beautiful world that cannot be understated and is fun to explore. The combat is fun and deep, it’s how I’d want my DmC games to feel.

its good in terms of video games preservation but certainly isn’t the best way to play. Broken and undercooked features, terrible input delay and audio issues. WB buried the fanmade remake they were funding for this. It’s concerning that major review sites are giving this game near perfect scores. Do your own research and take advice from reviewers who actually played the game or at least play fighting games. Avoid it at launch with the hope that fixes are on the way but the nostalgia goggles aren’t enough to redeem this mess.

Graphically it’s not as impressive as the internet makes it out to be. I noticed jarring graphical issues with grass that looked like it came out of a much older generation of game and it simply ruined immersion. Tsushima still looks far better graphically. The npcs are very stilted and wooden with hardly any movement with regards to facial features when they talk, unless it’s a key NPC. It’s a stark contrast. The story doesn’t quite land as much as the games first instalment but it’s still enjoyable, albeit far less emotional. Atsu is a cool protagonist and the combat is solid as to be expected.

The game plays very well but on the Switch 2, it looks atrocious. If you’re planning on getting it, get it on the the other consoles if you can, as there, it’s an 8.

IGN posted a misleading preview in that they said that free-roam mode supported 4 player split screen locally but it only supports two players locally.Whilst the addition of new player skins is very welcome, the lack of customisation for your vehicles is a step backwards in adding your own unique flair. Some of the tracks transitions are very impressive but there doenst seem to be enough of them at launch.I’m also not seeing the “travel to your next race” that was touted in previews by Nintendo, which I’m both thankful for but also frustrated with **** new charged jump to wall ride mechanic is not implemented well and feels awkward to do. Apart from that, it’s solid, competent and fun kart racer but it has room to improve.

First off, every review and video about this game fails to elaborate on how it differs in terms of loot from the first game. It is not a looter-shooter, weapons are still obtained from killing end level bosses exactly like the first one. Don’t expect much variation compared to what a looter-shooter is. With that out the way, it’s improved over the original. More checkpoints, guns don’t feel underpowered and new classes are good. The protagonist is a tad annoying at time abd the graphics are current gen. Still a lot of fun and more accessible than the first. But if you were mislead by the slew of reviews of it being a looter-shooter you find yourself a tad disappointed.

Button combinations to execute special attacks and fatalities for certain characters display incorrect inputs on PS5. This has yet to be patched and it’s been weeks since launch now. Content runs out fast! The story was building well enough but I felt that it suddenly started to rush itself along and then went off a cliff. Games feels rushed in many aspects. Not being able to change the characters gear for the selection screen or to have pre-existing load outs to cycle through is unintuitive and a step backwards from now MK11 was handled. In terms of combat (when inputs are as they are displayed and not hidden), it can be fun. It’s a lot fast and way more fluid than MK11. Combos can be too long though due to extension with the aid of the kameos. Some cool new story arcs for characters and some nice redesigns. Hopefully season 2 will up the game and add more quality of life content.

Keeping it short and simple because the main reviews cover the mechanics. What’s missing that id like to see in upcoming updates that’s in SF5 and not in 6: - ability to change individual character language - change base outfit at character select permanently - set some characters as Moderate or Classic permanently - have stages cycle randomly on versus mode

I’m making my way through the game, so I will update my impressions along the way. Initial impressions were great and I felt myself getting immersed into the world. After many hours into the game, it’s turned into a bit **** and bloated with having to scout for shrines to just be able to hold ones own in combat. It’s why I don’t like the Assassins Creed games, and I was disappointed that this follows similar tropes. The puzzles can be great but get tedious and overly familiar fast. I enjoy the exploration aspect as it reminds of Death Stranding funnily enough. I came to the party late in getting around to the is title and I had high hopes for it given it’s many many praises. Whilst it definitely has its charm, other games of this genre are crucified for similar tropes. I’ve platinumed the first two dark souls games and Bloodbourne and I find this combat far more gruelling and cheap at times. I may increase my score as I finish off a few more quests but sadly I just couldn’t get into this game as much as I wanted to.

Most reviews will compare this game to Destiny and The Division. I didn’t find that at all. The game feels like a marriage between Gears of War and Diablo. The movement, gunplay and cover system feels like Gears, it fast, frantic and meaty. In terms of feeling like Diablo, it uses the same tier system that ups the difficulty but provides better loot. High risk, more reward. Each class has a huge skill tree which is then complimented by what mods you want to imbue your guns and armour with. It’s then gets crazier with higher level gear, as each piece will come with an ability not fixed to a specific class. So you could be using the Trickster class and have a helm that provides shields for making kills with your blade but then the level 2 and 3 mods could emit an earthquake aura and high damage discharge that activates when your shield depletes. And that’s just one piece of armour... I never had any issues with the severs on PS5. I’d highly recommend this game. The only downside for me, is that it doesn’t look next gen but it plays like nothing else out there right now. Great voice acting and interesting characters and story.

It pains me to have to give this such a low score but to put it as simply as I can, this game is just now complete. CDPR said “we’ll release when it’s done.” This is not a product that should be on the shelves. What I have been able to play, has been enjoyable and I can see it’s potential. I haven’t experienced all the bugs that have littered the internet I have come across a game breaking one on my PS5. An important NPC necessary to progress the main campaign isn’t spawning and so my progress is blocked, leaving me to level up doing the side quest only. I’ve been able to look past the other bugs in the game but they shouldn’t even be in there in the first place. My score may change once it’s been patched but as it stands this game is incomplete and a 4 is very generous.

Great soundtrack and I could see what the game was trying to do by building on what made the 2016 title a masterpiece. Unfortunately, this didn’t work for me. It didn’t feel like a Doom game. Story was paper thin, downgraded visuals and very clunky control scheme that required many players to access youtube to find out how they should adjust their settings to make it playable (This shouldn’t have to be a thing). Perhaps it was better on PC, I wouldn’t know. The initial impressions weren’t good and the game just didn’t find its feet from then on out. Combat involved entering an arena, and then burning through all your weapons to kill enemies and repetitively break some jaws (so many times) to get shiny objects, then move to next arena and repeat. Unpopular opinion I know, believe me. I tried very hard to like this game and I almost stopped playing it but I needed to complete it and give it that at least. I’d recommend playing the 2016 release again rather than purchasing this latest release. 2016 captured the horror that is Doom, Doom 2 and even Doom 3 but Eternal just felt like I was driving a tank in a game that struggled with its own identity.

Lets getting something out of the way first. The demo we all played was terrible, and the ranger class was pretty lacklustre and boring but the final released version of the game is completely different in comparison - graphically and in execution. I'm really struggling to understand how some reviewers are saying the story is confusing and vague. If you take a few seconds to read the codex, it fills in any gaps you think are there. Bioware nails the characters, and the story is clear as day. It is told via codex, numerous cutscenes and constantly via the banter between you and our cypher, and through the vast number of fleshed out NPC's. Within the first 20 minutes the story hurls you into a clear narrative with fast paced action, and it continues to build from then on. It feels that reviewers are throwing Bioware under the bus, much like IGN did with Borderlands VR. I admit that the demo was terrible, and Bioware shouldn't have released an early build. I feel that many have reviewed it based on that, or are just wanting Bioware to fail for some childish reason. Fort Tarsis feels like a living and breathing hub. Ignore what reviewers have said about it getting in the way of action. They seem to forget that the much loved Mass Effect did the exact same thing with the various ports you'd visit. Whilst the forge gearing system can feel counterintuitive, it does makes sense. You equip yourself before heading out into battle. You character isn't going to be carrying 40 weapons to cycle through - so read your mission briefing and equip yourself accordingly. That's just common sense. Something just doesn't feel right with the way this game has been handled by the community. I started using the Interceptor, as its been lambasted as being the "worst". It ended-up being awesome and fun to play as, but I had to learn how to approach battles differently than I did with the Ranger. It felt completely different to me and when I unlocked the Storm, it felt like a whole new class (as it should), which made me reapproach my playstyle again to match its abilities and strengths. This is an incredible game, and I am loving the characters and feel connected to its world much like I did with Mass Effect 1-2, and Dragon Age. The gameplay mechanics are solid and levels well designed. If you are comparing it to Destiny for some reason, then you're wasting your time. It's completely different. Just go and play Destiny for that experience than comparing the two at every corner. Bioware has given us a beautiful and chaotic world with compelling characters. I'd highly recommend this title, and take caution when reading reviews from prominent websites. Pros - gameplay, graphics, music, sound, characters, class differences cons - teething issues with connectivity (experienced once in 20 hours of gameplay), load times (resolved) - now only takes a few seconds on PS4 Pro.
