I liked the animation, voice acting, Shaggy as a character, and the part where Scrappy Doo kills Velma during the series finale. Almost everything else ****.

Scooby Doo, without Scooby Doo? They made Velma... a careful brainiac with discipline and impulse control.... a black woman? And they turned Shaggy into a black dude with a shaved head. At this point, it's obvious these TV shows are funded by the platforms that host them, to get people to use them to watch 1 episode. The original Scooby Doo works because all of these 'White' people are actually types of White people you see out in public. I've never been out at a grocery store and seen a black woman looking at the ingredients on a food item to make sure it was healthy. If an ethnic 'is Velma', then I'm the president of the moon. Just no! This is the book that teaches how to kill a character! What are you guys doing? What a hell! What is your problem?

Velma was a highly anticipated show, promising a fresh take on the beloved Scooby-Doo gang. However, the series quickly devolved into a forced and overbearing feminist agenda. The show's constant focus on female empowerment and victimhood feels contrived and out of place in a series that should be fun and lighthearted. The characters, particularly Velma, are reduced to one-dimensional stereotypes, their personalities overshadowed by their feminist ideologies. The show's attempts to be edgy and provocative often fall flat, resorting to shock value and offensive humor. The constant references to sexual assault and violence are not only gratuitous but also insensitive. It's clear that the creators were more concerned with pushing their political agenda than creating a compelling story. Velma is a disappointing disappointment. While the animation and voice acting are solid, the show's forced feminist narrative and lack of substance make it a painful watch. It's a missed opportunity to create a truly enjoyable and original series.

It's not truly a self-insert until Velma sexually harasses an employee, and then laughs it off on a late-night talk show

The idea of taking the Mystery Gang from their original selves, to completely different ethnicities or just entirely different characters altogether was already an awful idea, but it could've still been done well. Turns out that it wasn't done well. This show feels like it was intended for hate-watching purposes, with the main characters being UNBARABLY watchable. Velma herself constantly brings up misogyny and sexism, which is a powerful message that could elevate the show... if it wasn't used as an excuse for everything she does. If she does ANY wrong, it's all because of that dark patriarchy. Any jokes that are made immediately fall flat, and the story of the show is absolute garbage and is effectively non-sensical. The ending of the first season is so anti-climactic that it hurts even more to end the show than to endure it all the way through. There is unnecessary kissing and sexual mentions everywhere, as well as promoting the idea that you should kiss someone who is having a panic attack, being the complete opposite of what you SHOULD do. This may be the only TV show I've watched that has actively had me rooting against the main characters for being complete **** to everyone, and expecting to be treated with praise and decency in return. This show should never be watched, don't endure the same suffering that I have.

Why was this show even made? How? Who made it? These are the questions I am genuinely asking myself about this show. Imagine taking a beloved kids show, something you’ve since you were a child. Then take that show, add in a lot of needless teenage high school tropes, old cliches and spiteful hatred of every male / white characters and you still can’t fathom the absolute garbage this show is. I can’t even imagine who it was made for. And the fact that it had to go through likely dozens of writers, editors, executives. Professionals at their job and this is what came out, it makes me worried for the human race. Do not waste one second of your time on this show.

The show is actually good if you stop trying to compare it to the older scoobydoo animations All I have to say is a majority of the people saying the show is bad are apart of the older generation that grew up watching the original scooby doo and are comparing the show to those old classic cartoons and thats why they arent able to fully form an opinion or even enjoy the show. I myself, a genz born 05, too thought it would be yet another scoobydoo remake but with a focus on Velma but that turned out not to be the case. But even still I was able to put all that aside and really enjoy the show for what is is because in reality its not a scoobydoo spinoff in honesty its just a show that is loosely based on scoobydoo but targeted at old people, maybe teens+, instead of children like the older scoobydoo animations. And I know this will just get tons of down votes soley based on the fact that I enjoyed the show but please actually watch it for yourself and dont let these old people with their negative reviews change your mind about watching it.

Absolute trash. I can’t believe they’re doing a second season! I read the reviews and didn’t believe it could be that bad… but it’s absolutely terrible! There’s nothing entertaining about this thing! It’s just character assassinations of every character, and no actual redemptions. They make very weak attempts and redemptions or lessons, but they’re so backwards and toxic, it’s nearly impressive.

This show is an absolute masterpiece. TV shows for the next century will look at Velma and try to copy its genius formula. I'm happy we just got news of a second season because it just had to happen after this amazing start.

Everything you learned from the Scooby-Doo crew is completely forgotten, the panic attacks are just a cheap way to create a polt, and they still managed to fail that. Every character uses their **** instead of their brains, even the females ones and I'm suspecting the Writers to have done the same. Every single joke is either overdone, or unfunny, or sexual. Clearly, the animators weren't paid enough.

Velma has been renewed for a second season. I, for one, isn't shocked by this. Normally a show with these laughable ratings would be cancelled - of course - but shows that has a clear agenda pretty much always get one or two seasons more until it's finally cancelled, because 1. Excuses, pushing blame and total incapability to admit they might actually **** at this. "We're just being review bombed! There CAN'T be other reasons!" 2. The network is afraid of bringing down the axe, in fear of being called this or the other. My advice to the networks: just stop encouraging shows like this. Stop wasting money on shows that undoubtedly will be cancelled and forgotten 1 or 2 years down the line anyways.

Worst acting. Worst voice acting. Worst everything, in general. I'd rather watch paint dry than go and watch anymore of this TV show.

That several critics are praising this pile of horse vomit shows how much they just want to have their ideological egos pandered to. Get Out, Velma, The Sound of Water, The Barbie move; The lesson is you can make the worst crap in the universe, but if you have the correct ideas in it, you will be celebrated no matter what.

I thought rings of power was bad, this show set a new level of bad... there is absolutely zero redeeming quality to this show. Shaggy and his father are annoying simps, Velma is in every facet of the word, UNLIKEABLE. Fred has a tiny **** and everyone seems to know it. Daphne, I dunno she's just there. Scooby? Nowhere to be found. Mindy Kaling, seems to be full on, "woe is me" while at the same time trashing white people at every turn, which would be fine... if any of the jokes were funny. I wasn't high enough to tolerate the show past the first few episodes, if you did, more power to you.
