Season 3 confirms the right path forward, moving away from tired formulas and trying something different while also refocusing on the best traits of its leads. The Walking Dead: Dead City is no longer shambling around like a rotting walker. With Season 3, it comes back to life in the best way possible.

Season 3 puts its characters on the same page goal-wise, and it's a welcome change from the warlords and dictators and backstabbings of the past. Plus, it offers up an unexpected episode that's a zenith for the entire franchise.

Pacing issues also continue to plague the zombie apocalypse, as Dead City season 3 takes some time to find its groove, then moves very quickly once things begin escalating. Still, these are relatively minor gripes considering the improvement The Walking Dead: Dead City makes in its third season.
