As much as the show recalls the movies, it also recalls some of the best work ever done in the genre for TV: the Buffy universe of Joss Whedon. Most every blast of portent and bombast is lightened by a throwaway joke; scenes of intense action and violence give way to equally well-realized scenes of domestic life that root the fantasy in emotional reality.

Glau's the best part of Chronicles, playing the robot who seeks to understand human stuff with a beguiling bemusement reminiscent of Jeff Bridges in "Starman."

My gosh! How do you take all the greatest hits of this franchise, condense it down and make it fit into a serial television show with a nearly complete stand-out cast that fits every character to a tee?! I have no idea and apparently FOX still doesn't know how to recognize a hit when they have it because just when this show got it's lungs . . . it got canceled. What a great show with awesome lore and content in a universe I really wanted to see more of only to watch it just stop . . . not even end - it literally just stopped. No finale, no wrap up. Thanks FOX!

Fantastic and memorable characters, intriguing stories, and great use of music! Excellent development for John and Sarah Connor. Thomas Dekker's John Connor is second only to Edward Furlong from T2. I will go as far as saying they did an equally great job! Lena also did very well especially considering the big show she had to fill. Summer Glau as Cameron is done exceptionally well and is NOT a fanservice character. Her chemistry with everyone is great, and her depth, development, and acting are phenomenal. The most impressive acting, however, is Shirley Manson as Ms. Weaver, her screen presence is formidable and she stole the show in every scene that she was in. The show is so well done that even minor characters add to the narrative. The reflection on philosophy and the existential is done brilliantly, it further explores machine sentience/emotion, the meaning of humanity, and the theme of love established by the first 2 films. In addition, the focus on AI and its ethics is prescient. While there are flaws like a few slower episodes, bad visual effects, some problematic scenes/plot holes, and some dialogue issues, as well a relative lack of good actions when compared to the films, they are easily overshadowed by the emotional depth and intelligent storyline. This is not a brainless shoot-em-up show for cheap thrills, but an impressive mythology of sci-fi drama show that is worth contemplating. This should be the first choice for those who want a post-T-2 story.

British actress Lena Headey makes Sarah into the heart and soul of this series. Without Headey and her maternal magnetism, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles would probably deteriorate into a nonstop series of effects-laden fight scenes that's as cold and grim as NBC's "Bionic Woman" remake.

Happily, viewers have less of a challenge in picking up the somewhat complex story line that continues from the "Terminator" movies. Newcomers won't be any more confused than they are by any time-travel adventure.

While it's hard to predict how this new chapter will play among deeper fans of the "Terminator" mythology, the rest of us have to ask ourselves if watching reboots of robot battles once a week is worth our time.

As the series continues to complicate the relations among past, present, and future, Ellison’s part in any of them is increasingly difficult to frame.

By the time the second hour comes on Monday and tries to give these characters some dimension, you already know that the talent on both sides of the camera simply isn't there to make this a worthwhile trip.

new terminator models, best sarah connor since linda in T2, john progresses from being a child and cameron is an interesting new guardian. Well acted with an intricate plot, only let down is the tv budget effects at times.

How come nobodys reviewing this? This is a must see tv show. It only had 1.5 seasons but the series is rivetting, true to the terminator franchise an has a great cast. It was a mistake by Fox to cancel this show when it was so good. Like in GOT Lena Headley plays the part perfectly. She is such a great actress!
