Tell Me Lies

I recently finished watching Tell Me Lies on Hulu, and I have to say, it's a gripping watch from start to finish. The show centers around a college relationship that starts out like any other but quickly becomes a complicated mess of manipulation, lies, and emotional turmoil. What stood out to me was how well the show explores toxic relationships and the long-lasting impact they can have, not just on the people involved but also on those around them. The main character, Lucy, played by Grace Van Patten, does a fantastic job portraying someone who gets caught in this web of lies, and the chemistry between her and Stephen, played by Jackson White, is intense and feels real. You can really feel the emotional rollercoaster they go through, and it kept me hooked the entire time. It’s one of those shows where you’re constantly questioning who’s in the wrong, which just makes it all the more compelling. The pacing was great, too—just when you think you have things figured out, the show throws in a twist that keeps you on your toes. Some really good flashbacks help fill in the gaps in the story, showing how everything built up to this point. That being said, the show definitely isn’t for everyone. The drama can feel a little heavy, and there are moments when you just want to scream at the characters to make better decisions. But if you're into drama with complex characters and a lot of emotional depth, Tell Me Lies is definitely worth watching. I’m giving it an 8/10. It’s a great binge-watch, and I’m already looking forward to the next season.

Cons: Personally, this isn't necessarily the show for me. I'm more into romantic dramas. But for what it is and what it's trying to be (a messy show about toxic relationships and friendships), it pulls it off fantastically. It can get depressing at times, but that comes with the nature of these kinds of shows. Think Euphoria but slightly tamer. Pros: It is filled with twists, lies, and betrayals (hence the name). Almost all the characters will make you want to throw something at the TV at one point or another. it's the type of show where it's hard to root for anyone, but that's the fun of it. You get to root AGAINST everyone instead. If you love messy drama, and characters who constantly make the worst decisions, this show is for you. It will show you the worst sides of humanity. May love and friends like these never find me.
