This show is just a shadow to what the original was...weak acting, weak story, I can't bring myself to really enjoy it because there is just too much bs going around. The only thing this show does well is the speechwriting. Everything else is just way worse than the original. Also the woman gladiator (the actress) clearly doesn't even know how to swing a ****'s very awkward.

Man, this show was so unabashedly entertaining. The character development and the final couple episodes especially. Please bring on more!

It was simply amazing. Same quality as original Spartacus, including the delicious dialogue and the thrilling battles. The first episode is perhaps on the weaker side, but man, what a marvel the rest of the 9 episodes were. Especially episode 6, 9 and 10. Whoever is saying it's bad AFTER watching the entire season is either being dishonest or has the worst taste ever. I cannot wait for season 2.

Excellent takes a bit of getting into it but watching it the second time around I totally get it. The actors are amazing especially ashur so refreshing to see all different emotions that you can have as a human being. Hope there is another series.

Great show with fun characters, great fight scenes, and amazing plot twists.

Excellent acting. Nick Tarabay is perfect in this role, as all the actors. A great cast. Great writing and filming. What a job by the stunts. I don't write many reviews, but for this series I must say to anyone : watch it, you won't regret it !

I tried but could only get to episode 4. The story felt like it was going nowhere and the wokness is just annoying.

Very entertaining. Sure there is violence and nudity but also an intriguing story, compelling characters and actors who are giving the performances of their career in sone cases (Graham McTavish for one).

what an absolute **** of a show, an absolute emberassment, even as a mini-series, even as a 'what if' nobody liked Ashur yet he's the one who gets a series? damn man. I dont even have words to describe it, but if you watch two episodes of this pile of garbage you know exactly where its going.

The series starts with a weak prologue, almost like a low-quality fanfiction. The sets are fine and the cast is ok, but the rest just pales in comparison to the original. I'm not sure who exactly asked for this spinoff, because it's neither good nor memorable.

Absolutely fantastic scripts. The scenes are brilliant and the flow of story is to be commended.

What a way to turn a historic setting show where all the three original Spartacus shows (seasons) were loved and then make it for the "MoDeRn AuDiEnCe" in 2025... What an absolutely masterful way to turn your audience against you : Make a female gladiator beating men. Very empowering. At least, this trash is not canon.

Aside from the introduction to the story, which was meh, I'll leave that blank to prevent spoilers, I forgot how much I missed the spectacles of the arena. It feels familiar, but yet with a fine cast, interesting characters, and the improved new visuals that are better on the eye then it's predecessor. I couldn't stop watching. Highly recommended.

It"s Interesting, the way it invites you back into the world Spartacus. Though I'm not a big fan of the alternate twist of the fate of Ashur in the original series. I thought his end was perfect as well as the series as a whole. House of Ashur Keeps the same gore, intensity and lust as the original series. If you give it a chance the characters grow on you. If you look beyong the gender and race politics you'll find a rich intriguing story about a warrior trying to cease her destiny with her own hands which is what the show at its core is about dating back to the original series.

Did you ever wonder what the amazing Spartacus show were like if you put a lady in it and made everything gay and lame? This shows for **** really, ashur? The most hated dangerous character in all of the shows with 0 redeeming qualities? Idiots

What if Spartacus had escaped? What if Crassus had died and the legions had been destroyed? What if DeKnight didn't make a follow-up show starring questionable characters and a minor character's alternate timeline (Ashur was in my top 5 favourite characters)? What if............................................. I love the Spartacus show; all four seasons were great entertainment, and the characters were some of the best. So when I heard a new show was being released, it was a what? moment, and then why? I don't understand. This is a show that was not needed and is only fulfilling the needs of a select few. This hasn't ruined the Spartacus story because you don't need to watch it; save your time and rewatch the original four seasons of Spartacus.

Décidément, tout fout le camp, même Spartacus devient woke…! bien sûr, c’est Spartacus sans Spartacus puisque ça se passe après Spartacus… avec un nouveau patron au sein du Ludus… mais voici qu’une gonzesse vient se friter avec les gladiateurs, carrément ! contre des machines à tuer pareilles, vous croyez qu’elle aurait une chance ? la moindre des chances ? (à part dans un monde féminiwoke ?). Ce n’est bien sûr jamais arrivé… même à notre époque, on ne le ferait pas… Ce serait ridicule. Ou alors pure fantaisie bien sûr. Ou alors de la science-fiction, pourquoi pas. Une super héroïne. Wonder Woman sans doute ?… entre autres, les héroïnes ne manquent certes pas… Tiens, pourquoi pas… oui, Tomb Raider ! du moins, euh… pas la version woke de la série animée woke de Netwoke, bien sûr que non… D’ailleurs, c’est toujours Starz qui produit ce « Spartacus » mais que s’est-il passé… eux aussi, donc, ils sont devenus complètement cons. Et comme attendu, la série est une wokerie de **** aussi outrée que grotesque et ridicule. Deux épisodes m’ont suffi et déjà, j’en pouvais plus… Et puis évidemment, il faut aussi cocher la case de la diversité : elle doit être noire, forcément. Elle doit faire cinquante kilos mais elle tabasse des montagnes de muscles, évidemment. Sans surprise ni même l’avantage de la surprise, soit dit en passant. Non, franchement, comment croire à des conneries pareilles… à moins de se retrouver dans… « Deux heures moins le quart avant Jésus-Christ » ! et même là, ils n’ont pas osé…Ou alors, ou alors… attends, il fallait lui faire boire de la potion magique… et donc, d’abord la faire venir en Armorique ?!… puis la ré-expédier dans le Ludus à côté de Rome ? en colissimo oui, oui… ou appeler un char Uber. Puis, lui confier la recette de la potion magique pour qu’elle puisse en faire et ne pas en manquer, sinon, comment qu’elle ferait la wokasse ? non mais franchement, sans déconner…

After the first episode, I would rather go back and watch the original series again. Starz needs to go back to shows that made them like Black Sails, Power, and Outlanders. It is a shame for I had high hopes for this show.

I am a diehard fan of the original and it really does not deserve this sequel. Let’s begin with the cast: I can’t tell how much I disliked the character of Ashur but he had a place in the old show — not as a main character but as a shady sidekick to move the story forward. A sequel based on him as a main character is such the worst reboot I could imagine for the show. Secondly: the story was told and came to an end. An alternate universe with “strong independent Gladiatrix” instead of Spartacus is just another attempt to rewrite some good show with a modern feminist woke narrative, similar to the Star Wars sequels or countless other films and shows. The producers try to re-educate the fan base by giving it woke storytelling under the name of beloved films or shows. I protect my love for the originals and boycott this woke nonsense.

I watched the original series back in the day. It had a conclusion and didn't need a spin off. It's also not very good, So I'm left asking who asked for this? Ashur was a good villain in the original, we don't need another take on him. And yeah the female gladiator is about as cringe as you'd expect her to be. Female gladiators were considered a novelty in roman times and they weren't taken seriously, hence why there were so few of them. Weird to see all the reviews saying the exact opposite. I've watched 2 episode and I won't be bothering with the rest.

the show starts with a text to put us in context, that is no only lazy, but clearly a hint of how crappy the whole thing is, Ashur is still the piece of **** we all loved in Spartacus, but this time the house of Bathiatus or Ashur i mean, is full of the most generic, lacking of charisma or sexappeal gladiators i ever watch, the slave women are the same, the less attractive female extra from Spartacus is better in every way possible than this entire cast. To talk about the story in only 2 chapters is not fair maybe, but the first combat with weight on the story is between 3 dwarfs and a man, and is not mean to be comical, is awful, really awful show and the ones loving it, probably the same kind of people who cherised the last predator movie

I loved the first 2 episodes. Crazy to see the brigading bad reviews here, all because of 'DEI' or'Black Woman' ... that's not really what the show is so makes me think there is some serious bot action going on

House of Ashur is a welcome return to the world of Spartacus. The first two episodes are a strong start, certainly better than the first two episodes of Blood and Sand were. I'm looking forward to seeing all of Ashur's machinations. The scene between Glabinius and Ashur was fantastic. Great dialogue writing from DeKnight. Also, ignore the insanely unfavorable reviews here. These people have got their panties in a twist over a black female gladiator, as if the original series didn't have Naevia and Saxa fighting Roman legionnares. Spartacus is a FANTASY. Hell, Ashur even states that female gladiators are unheard of, so it makes sense he'd try to train one to win fame in the arena.

The series is consistent with the direction of history. It portrays women, dwarves, and uncommon methods to maintain consistency among the dynamics of entertainment. The writers leave the focal point of the story to be determined by the viewer, whether it be a female black lead overcoming adversity, or simply an entrepreneur challenging societal norms for historical remembrance. The quality of the combat scenes have reduced and appear to be lazy, perhaps that will improve as the series continues.

Apparently dealing with review bombs from culture war morons. The show itself feels very Spartacus and is hitting all the notes. Keep in mind, although gladiators were primarily men, women were indeed present in the arena. Do your research.

I see from negative reviews, they are just bot-drivel ("...woman overpowering men...." ). Tenika Davis' character Achillia is actually a well thought out addition. She is being beaten badly by most male gladiators and will need to work 3x as hard to be accepted; I look forward to seeing this develop. Several standout performers: Nick Tarabay, Graham McTavish, Claudia Black, so far. Can't wait for Ep. 3. A true composite score should be in the 7-8 range for the first 2 episodes.

Superb action, deeply and compromised performances combined with stunning enviroments (adding tons of fanservice nudes and gory B series style dismembered limbs). This project it is outstanding in every perspective.

Ashur’s return after the outcome in the original feels more plausible than a 100lb woman effortlessly overpowering men at the peak of their physical strength. I can only expect for this to get more outrageous as the season goes on. This isn't supposed to be a comedy, right?

Some of these reviews must have been for something completely different to what I watched. These first two episodes were a great time, with the trick being to allow yourself to enjoy things without regarding all through an anti-woke lens. I have no doubt that if you enjoyed the original series, you'll very much enjoy this; despite some of these reviews, it *is* possible to appreciate both, and it conveniently seems to have slipped their minds that the number of female warriors featured the last time around was hardly few. Strong performances, thoughtful writing and sharp fight choreography, as all featured before, along with enough humour, blood and sex to sate the senses. A most welcome return. Very much looking forward to seeing where this goes and if Starz have any sense they'll keep it around for a good long while.

This show embodies everything wrong with "modern" television. When I first saw the trailer for this, I thought surely this is some kind of comedy/parody about the real show Spartacus, mocking the absurdity & silliness of social propaganda programing but no, its just another in a very very long list of recent DEI enforced failures.

I watched this initally believing this was a comedy. While hilariously absurd, I soon realized this was actually made with the intent that it be taken seriously.
