Significant Mother

Significant Mother isn't trying to be sophisticated, cutting-edge comedy. With its nonstop wisecracks about hooking up, body parts, and pop culture references (a raunchy "Downton Abbey" joke, for example), Significant Mother feels like a Millennial version of "Three's Company."

While the show does possess some energy thanks to the cast, there’s such a numbing sameness to the gags.

A comedy so slight, you might not even notice it is there.

Significant Mother benefits from amusing bits of dialogue here and there, but it’s largely predictable and fails to bring anything new to the sex comedy subgenre.

There’s little here that inspires much beyond irritated indifference.

A new comedy on CW that tried for the cutting edge but ended up dull and dimwitted.
