This isn’t a new addition--sex, drugs, and violence have always been a part of Shameless’s DNA, but it’s the ornamental way that these elements are being used that feels unsatisfying.... All in all, the first two episodes do a good job of driving the Gallaghers to action and setting up stories that are likely to unfold throughout the course of the season.

As a hardcore Shameless fan, I'm rating this season high because it's tackling some more serious issues with the Gallagher clan. This season does seem to be a little more ridiculous than past seasons, but it hasn't deterred me from watching by any means. Being so far into the show and having invested so much time on the storylines and the characters, I will continue to watch for the absurd hijinks and crazy familial drama that Shameless is known for!

Difficult show to rate. Acting is very good, especially Fiona's part. Story lines are out there but most are interesting, funny or both. This is black comedy and a fine line exists between provoking laughter and shock. The line is crossed often and many times in the same episode. Guns, abortion, racially mixed families, homosexuality , welfare , drug and alcohol abuse, the writers take them all on. Nothing is sacred and you either like it or you don't. The only story line I could live without is the gay kid but that aside , I make it a point to watch every Sunday.

The show certainly isn't what it used ot be. Of course, its still dark and raunchy. But the characters and events are becoming worse and worse. Which, you could like as a viewer, or get sick of real quick. Often I fast forward thru some of the parts as I am tired of some of the story lines. That being said, I can't predict what is going to happen next-and its amuzing to see it.

The show jumped the shark in the last season when one of the least interesting characters **** somebody and got rewarded for it. The show since then, has become focused on her misguided endeavours to have a baby, and wants us to care about her fate when truly, it'd be better if she got killed off. Furthermore, it's becoming clear that they don't really know where to go with anyone else. They keep doing rehashes of previous problems, hyped up a character's return just for it to go nowhere, and manufactured other issues which give them nothing to do. While aesthetically this show looks better and packs more of a punch than the original UK version, it at least kept things fresh by cycling through new characters when they realized certain characters arcs were through.

A thoroughly pointless and humorless show which has run its course. My guess is the only reason why they're still making this show is there's just enough guys like me who watch it just for a glimpse of Emmy Rossum's boobs and butt which aren't that spectacular after the 4th or 5th time anyway as the character she portrays is unattractive in several ways. Why else would anyone watch a show that is completely devoid of drama, good acting, suspense, humor, or any redeeming quality whatsoever?
