Normal People is a quietly devastating and profoundly moving exploration of first love and human connection. Anchored by the remarkable performances of Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones, the series captures the subtle chemistry, vulnerability, and emotional depth of its central characters with exquisite precision. Its delicate cinematography, understated direction, and honest portrayal of young adulthood make every glance, gesture, and silence feel resonant. Beyond romance, the show navigates themes of class, mental health, and personal growth with nuance and authenticity, creating a series that is as heartbreakingly relatable as it is visually and emotionally compelling. Normal People stands out as a masterclass in intimate storytelling that lingers long after the final episode.

Normal People isn’t about grand gestures or perfect lines. It’s about looks, silences, things said wrong or too late. The story is simple, yes, but told with such honesty it cuts deep. Marianne and Connell aren’t your typical couple — they love each other, hurt each other, drift apart, and slowly learn to live with what’s left. And that, without any filters, is what makes it so painful and **** show has a rare sensitivity. Everything feels deliberate but never forced: the camera breathes with them, moves with them. The dialogue sounds raw, real — like overhearing a private conversation you shouldn’t be listening to. That intimacy pulls you in.Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal are extraordinary. There’s no pretending — just truth. She’s fragile but strong, he’s lost but sincere. Together, they give the series a quiet emotional weight that **** times it feels slow or overly restrained, but that’s part of its charm. Normal People doesn’t want to shock; it wants to stay with you. And it does. When it ends, you feel that strange emptiness, like saying goodbye to someone who once mattered a lot.A small story, yes, but huge on the inside — one that reminds you how love, time, and everything unsaid can shape who we become.

A huge, huge recommend to anyone who hasn't seen or read this yet. Went into it blindly, and was blown away - introspective, melancholic, intimate, beautiful. Fair warning though, this show will make you feel a range of emotions, often conflicting, and all at once.

This series features two of the best performances by leading actors in recent memory. The story revolves around the (frequent and explicit) sexual relationship between two young people who have lots of personal baggage and are exceptionally bad at communicating with one another.

Maybe I crave fireworks instead of the slow burn of longing, the unspoken anxieties simmering just beneath the surface. So much unspoken longing, so much angst disguised as intellectual banter. Their chemistry, undeniable, but sometimes it felt like watching paint dry - beautiful, mesmerizing, but lacking the explosive brushstrokes that leave a lasting mark. Sure, some pieces were gorgeous - Connell's quiet strength, the Irish scenery that whispers a story with every cloud, the raw ache of unspoken desires. But others were chipped and frustrating, leaving me wanting more, wanting clearer definitions of "normal" than just two teenagers trapped in a push-pull of attraction and insecurity.

Truly something great. Created with such care and attention to detail that you cannot help but feel a part of their relationship as it changes throughout the years. Based of the beloved Sally Rooney novel of the same name you can tell how much they chose to stick to it's source material. The aforementioned fidelity allows for a more fleshed out presentation that despite ending unanswered feels realistic in it's resolution.

Daisy has no chance to “win” her deserved Golden Globe. Read “At the clinic” a sequel. This show was a book written after a short story- “At the Clinic.” Worth reading, but still frustrating!

Every once in a long while there's a series that's so good you want to slow down watching it because you don't ever want it to end.

What an amazing journey in the life of 2 persons, that build up a well of emotions and feelings during their teenage years, that became in a mutual unworded and indescribable love. That love is nothing more than a resual of ups and downs of relacion betwen two people that the first fase of their life developt a relacionshipt of undefined and uncertain feelings for each. Along this weird relacion that started in the last year of high school, both, with their weird experiences, uncertainties, frustrations, joys, loves and delusions, were dragged to a melancolic life that they actualy like each in their own way, but with an incredible similarity. What an amazing tv show! What an explosion of emocions! A culmination of something sentimentally inexplicable, which makes me want to achieve a similarity in my life.

Beautifully directed and acted, this show is about young love. The kind where shame, communication issues and passion are involved. It made me feel like I was 18 years old again. I dived into the story and I loved the psychological evolution of the characters and of course, I cried at the end.

Naturalistic, sensitive treatment of a much-loved novel. Good performances but characters strain believability at times. Overlong, yet imagining this made as a film proves ultimately there's not much substance to the show.

Simplemente perfecta, me hubiera gustado que los capítulos duraran una hora pero supongo que todo lo bueno es siempre poco.

The show is amazing. The development of the characters is so natural and it seems like there are no tears left to cry.

the social atmosphere is extremely claustrophobic, everyone waiting for 1 person to step out of line to attack as a dog pile. Daisy Edgar Jones steals every scene.

I dont usually give 10/10 scores because everything has the potential to be better but Normal People is as close to perfection as the BBC has come up with in an awfully long time. It will be a travesty if Daisy Edgar-Jones, Paul Mescal and Lenny Abrahamson don't walk away with all of the gongs at next years awards. The whole cast is superb but the tenderness of the performance from Mescal in particular hits the perfect note when it could so easily have appeared affected or overdone. It is rare for a great book to be done justice on the small screen (or the big screen for that matter) but the direction from Lenny Abrahamson is that rare beast of the great book made better in the adaption. Every look or affectation has meaning and not a second of screentime is wasted. Normal People is that rare series which leaves yoou begging for more yet petrified that to get another series would devalue one of the best series of TV to come out of the UK in years. A banker for the Top tens of the year come Xmas.

Exquisite. Normal People pulls you in and doesn't let go. It's raw and beautiful. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
