Finally a medical series that doesn’t entirely fixate on drama between doctors although very present. The new and innovative thinking of the main character “Dr. Max Goodwin” is just that! His bold and straightforward idealism is what other series lack. It gives off a jovial feeling to see someone in a position of power to actually create lasting and effective change.

First season is great. Love the characters and rollercoaster ride of the episodes. Fun watch

For the longest time I had been searching for a show to replace House M.D. and for awhile I thought this might be it but somewhere between the first and second seasons they stopped focusing on engaging stories and cases in lieu of making political or social messages in their episodes, I just want a show that pulls me out of current affairs and allow me to forget what's going on in the world but it seems like this show wants to slam your face right in it every 15 or so minutes. The good things it has going is the characters are very engaging and the actors and actresses perform very well in the roles and when they choose to the stories and cases are actually really good, I particularly like Iggy Fromme's character but everytime I start to get just a little immersed he will be "making a statement". It's a long shot but should the writers ever read this, you have a good show obviously it is up to 5 seasons now but if you would just focus on the stories and not the message you are shoving down our throats you would have a great show that could stand toe to toe with other medical dramas so for all the reasons listed I can't give it more than a 3 because as my teachers told me about plays and acting is that a great story makes you forget you aren't part of the story.

What kind of trash show spouts nonsense like a single drop of THC tincture could make you go insane?

it is not enough from the medical side but compensates from the humanity factor

So nowadays white people can't say a **** without being called racists, and black man can refuse dating a girl because she's white? This is kind of equality black people are trying to enforce.

At first it seemed like it would be a pleasant series period hospital show where the poor guy wins because of the goodness have a nice head doctor period and of course the into the woke environment where every police officer is bad and shoots black kids, gay dad's are beautiful with their Bangladeshi adopted children karma

A brilliant show, the acting is superb ans its not afraid to deal with uncomfortable topics

I used to like this show until the last episode, I'm TIRED of these shows that have all these doctor's treating ppl like **** going against wishes (the DNR that was violated!!!!!!!!!!!) is absolutely horrendous!!!! I would love a med show that was realistic and was actually about patients' wishes and not all this doctor drama bull****, I'm about to stop watchn

The show is preachy beyond words. Almost every scene villifies the free market and our current health care system. It STRONGLY advocates for socialist medicine, with no description as to how free medical care and medicine will be paid for. Characters are one dimensional.

The acting is awfull. The story is awfull. Do these people know what amazing shows r out there? I am looking at it now just because i am a amazed and mesmerized by the complete lack of awareness...

Think that new amsterdam is so much better than many other medical series our there and definitely on par with Chicago med.
