The Punisher is my second favourite Netflix Marvel show despite the second season. I love the character, because he is probably the most complicated protagonist of the whole MCU. Season 1 had better amazing original characters and a great story.

While it's great to see Jon Bernthal as the lead of his own series, the writing and directing in this series was stereotypical and lackluster by today's standards, as if it was made in the 1990's.

There’s something about The Punisher that hits a nerve most Marvel shows don’t even get close to. No powers, no suits, no cosmic games. Just rage. Pain. And a thirst for justice — or revenge, depending on your perspective — that taps into that dark part of you that sometimes wishes you could do what Frank Castle does, without thinking about the consequences. Because yes, sometimes the punishment should be just as brutal as the **** Bernthal doesn’t play Frank Castle — he becomes him. His silences are heavy, his stare says more than pages of dialogue, and his anger is disturbingly real. From the very first episode, you know this isn’t a hero. It’s a broken man choosing to break everything else around him. Is it admirable? Not always. Is it understandable? Absolutely. And that’s where the series hooks you.Unlike other Marvel Netflix entries, this one doesn’t need Daredevil or Jessica Jones to hold it up. The Punisher stands on its own — slower, yes, but more deliberate. Some episodes could be tighter. And the second season does get tangled at times. But there’s emotional depth here: guilt, trauma, personal justice. And above all, consequences. What’s impressive is that amidst all the blood and bullets, there’s still room to talk about what happens after the war — the abandonment of veterans, invisible pain, violence that breeds more violence. Sometimes the message gets drowned out by the gunfire, but the intention is clear. This is more than just an action show. It’s a story about internal **** won’t be for everyone. Some will find it too much, too grim, too repetitive. But for those who connect with its brutal honesty, The Punisher is more than entertainment. It’s uncomfortable, but cathartic. And make no mistake: without Jon Bernthal, this wouldn’t hit nearly as hard.Because The Punisher doesn’t ask whether Frank Castle is right. It asks if you, watching, would do the same. And even if the answer is no… sometimes, deep down, you wish someone like him existed. And that’s the disturbing part. And the fascinating one.

Despite some very convenient plot points in the second season and some middling writing, this is a fascinating character study of a compelling anti-hero, a poignant examination of the consequences of bereavement and grief, and a powerful examination of the damage inflicted upon soldiers by war and many of the experiences connected to it. For all its flaws, everyone in this series is doing a fantastic job in the acting department - inevitably and with good reason, Jon Bernthal receive due praise as Frank Castle, but Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore and Giorgia Whigham, among others, are all fantastic in their respective roles. Despite what seems like a great deal of critical reception indicating the contrary, I found this show to be consistently enthralling, powerful and reflective, even amidst its moments of tonal confusion and glaring plot conveniences. Despite the low bar set by such a comparison, this is likely the most well-conceived and well-executed portrayal of the Punisher that we will ever get to see.

I loved the series! Along with Daredevil, it's one of the best Marvel has to offer. I really like how the protagonist takes time to heal his wounds, making it clear that he's not a superhuman. The fight choreography is excellent, and I love the story in both seasons. It's great superhero content for adults.

Benim için ortalama ve altı seviyede bir yapımdı. Aslında Marvellık bir karakter değil ama neyse.

Having only seen the Punisher show up in the Spider-Man animated show and then Daredevil, I've never really known anything about his lore, other than the death of his wife and child. The show that we did get didn't disappoint. Castle's need for vengeance and the loss he suffered is always compelling, and I like how it justifies this character being just straight up more brutal with villains. The Punisher has an edge not seen in many Marvel characters, and Bernthal's portrayal really sells it. Jigsaw as the villain for season 2 did feel a little boring, and I think the show would have gone on to outlive itself with sequel seasons had the relationship between Marvel and Netflix not gone sour. Either way, a great show with much more mature and depressing subjects explored compared to the rest of Marvel. The army flashback scene where Wish It Was True is playing is still a GOAT Marvel scene.

I'm glad they took a run at this, but sadly it's not good. John Bernthal seems woefully miscast as Frank Castle. He's too small, physically, and it just looks silly when 9 out of 10 of the guys he fights are always bigger than him. Frank is always drawn as being a big guy. It needed an imposing figure to play him (think: Reacher). And Bernthal's performance is too smug. He always feels like he's moments away from giving that little head bobble that he does and that weird smug smirk. He seems like he would have been a much better fit as a Mafia guy that Punisher fights, rather than Punisher himself. Saddling Frank with a kid was a seriously bad move. Punisher works and operates alone. He has a kind of code about that kind of thing and the Frank Castle from the comics would never have a kid tagging along, regardless of who they are in connection to the story. It's all too formulaic, watered-down, and neutered. The best comics run is Punisher MAX by Garth Ennis. Give us a true to the source adaptation of that, or don't bother. The world doesn't need a PG-15 Punisher. That misses the point entirely.

Out of all the marvel netflix series, this was the one I was the least interested in. Season 1 turned out to be one of my top 3 favorites. Season 2 is also solid.

What a great show. This is the best thing in the Punisher franchiese I ever saw, with Dolph Lundgren movie a bit behind and all comic books which I didnt enjoy all that much - well I loved when he was cameo/2nd main in Spider-Man and other comics but show with Bernthall is the thing that made me really become a fan of the character. Hope Marvel Studios will mąkę use of Bernthal Punisher in future just as I cant wait to see Wade Wilson by Reynolds in MCU soon.

How did they mess this up? This is the best portrayal of the character yet and somehow; between the overacting, god awful writing, and focus on lesser characters, it's a complete chore to watch. The action scenes (about 5-10mins of a 50min episode) are top notch, with all the gore you'd expect from The Punisher lore. Everything else is really poor though. Episodes constantly retread old ground, either by literally showing the same scenes over again with Franks family, or what happened in the middle east, or through scenes shot in one location for an entire episode. It's really frustrating that they simply couldn't get this right, which is probably why these Marvel shows can't find a new home after Netflix.

Shockingly boring. About an hour of action (Jon Bernthal barking like a dog the whole time), 4 hours of people talking to Frank Castle, and 12 hours of people who aren't Frank Castle literally sitting down and talking about themselves. Every aspect of the show is so amateurish, so underbudgeted, so ill-conceived that it's amazing to believe the ratings were ever even this high. I mentally checked out around episode 3 of season 1 and just watched the entire series backgrounded to see if I could survive. I don't know if I can call this living though.

EVERYTHING EXCEPT PUNISHER. I was delighted with Punisher in Daredevil's second season. I said "This will be the best series"! I love Punisher MAX comics, I thought it couldn't be **** up. Meanwhile, I got a weeping bastard who was pitying his miserable ass all season long. The whole story is a miserable attempt to adapt the great stories of Garth Ennis. In addition, everything is stretched into a million episodes while valuable things could be stuffed in two episodes. I watched piece by piece saying to myself "it will be better soon". It was only worse. There is nothing valuable here. No point wasting life. The second season has hit bottom.

I don’t understand why they cancelled this less than a week after season 2 came out. This show made me like the punisher series again and buy all the comics. Jon does the character justice. I think they got the perfect man for the job. I really hope they continue the story for at least 3 more seasons
