Glenn Martin, DDS

It's broad, accessible comedy - the kind of show where you aren't sure what to expect, but once you sit down, you keep watching.

It’s the grade of funny this show seems to have accepted - cute, giggle-worthy, and only a smidgen dangerous.

Sadly, these factors [Kevin Nealon, Catherine O'Hara and puppet animation] only amplify my disappointment in what, on the basis of one episode and a handful of clips, looks to be a weak and wheezy show.

The show is clever in parts, but it's just not that funny.

Dentists can indeed be funny, but not when they're as toothless as Glenn Martin, DDS.

The overall concept is so tired and the execution, despite the overlay of gross-out humor, so hackneyed that we could just as well be watching something from Mr. Eisner’s early career as a chief executive.

But ignore the stilted jokes, the limp characterization, the complete lack of "re-imagining" of anything. Just understand this: Martin is an animated show with a laugh track.
