**** show. It had been redeemable it's first three stumbling season but through out the following seasons the sheer creative negligence rendered the show a pioneer in bad choices second only to Riverdale.

When it first started, I wasn't sure whether I would like Glee. I was interested somewhat but the comparisons to the High School Musical franchise, which I dislike very much, put me off. I still watched the show to start and did enjoy it to start with(if to compare to HSM, this is much better), particularly for the charming production values, sprightly choreography and catchy music. However, by Season 2 Glee for me went downhill and I soon got bored of it. The writing became very clichéd and lazy, the stories uninteresting, episodic and lacking in freshness(I wasn't a fan of the Lady Gaga episodes or the Rocky Horror Picture Show one) and the characters dull and indifferent. The acting was decent to start with, but then you had the sense the actors were starting to get bored with their characters, Naya Rivera is one of about three exceptions to properly inject life into the character she plays. All in all, interesting at first but once it ran out of ideas and became lazier and duller it became hard to watch. 3/10 Bethany Cox

I grew up with this show and I loved it from start to finish, but years later I revisited and the saw the reality of it. Until season 4 the show was great, could've ended there though. After that it seems Ryan Murphy really didn't care that much, the lack of improvement of the characters was really notable, they also changed a lot of things that season 1 already stated.

The cultural phenomenon that was Glee, at its core, is about lost people finding a home through the arts. It balances snark, self awareness and sweetness, sometimes perfectly and sometimes horribly. What holds the show back is it’s propensity to stack up campy, melodramatic storytelling against human emotion, therefore it subsequently lacks the reality of anyone having to deal with the long term consequences of any action, thus there is little room for character development. With each season, the plots get less consistent and these issues become more prevalent, all while losing sight of the purpose of the show to begin with. Yes, it’s messy and we would all like to pretend that seasons 4-6 didn’t exist, but when it was good, there was nothing quite like it. There is that something special in Glee where you can’t help but fall in love with the characters and feel secretly heart warmed when it’s at its cheesiest. To score it any higher would be ridiculous, but to score it any lower would be serving an injustice to the sheer greatness this show produced at its best moments.

A closer look at the TV series as a whole, In 2009, 'Glee' was an instant hit with the public, but always critical failure. After six years, the series ended its trajectory without much noise. Glee is far from being a great series. When it comes to productions aimed at young adults and adolescents, many others managed to address these issues in greater depth, but one work does not eliminate the other. Glee managed, in its own way, to create identification with a portion of the public who felt grateful to see themselves represented on television. This alone is enough not to delegitimize the series' trajectory.

Glee credo faccia parte dell'adolescenza di tutti, riuscendo ad imporsi nella cultura di massa

Even though it goes down after Season 4, the show is absolutely amazing! Many twists, awesome music, diversity, basically "High School Musical" grown-up, even better than that cheesy guilty pleasure movie. Worth the watch!

This show is great and will get you dancing along wherever you are. The singers are excellent. However, as the seasons go on, they get worse and worse. Sadly, I feel like the show got too happy with themselves and decided to keep on making series and sadly they just got worse.
