There's little point in critiquing the acting other than to say this isn't a production that will embellish anyone's list of credits. Nearly everyone here is a caricature trying to make the best of a miniseries that is all about the special effects.

Fans of this telefilm's predecessor... will probably enjoy this upped ante of a sequel, though it once again mixes spectacular effects with childish human melodrama.

It has moments of being so-bad-it's-good, which is to say it's at its best when it's a near-satire of the genre. But it drowns in redundant action scenes and sentimentality.

Even with network movie expectations at an all-time low, you might expect more from November's only broadcast miniseries than an overblown repeat. We've seen enough bad weather and bad movies to last a lifetime; why anyone would want to see the two combine again is beyond me.
