So far, at least, “Call Me Kat” isn’t likely to appeal to people who like to point out that they’ve never seen an episode of “The Big Bang Theory.” But, based on the first four episodes available for preview, “Call Me Kat” is unpretentious, eager to be liked, and easy to take.

Maybe there's a funny idea here, but without edge, bite or (yup) claws, we'll never know. Good heart, no claws (or laughs).

Give this show a fighting chance! Even Miranda us awkward the first time you watch it. Miranda Hart is an executive producer on this, let the actors get in sync with their characters and let the writers find their groove. It can be very successful!

Okay here we go I was concerned about whether to even try this program due to the horrible reviews but honestly if you want to get technical about it it's really not that bad of a program I laughed and left feeling like had a nice time and got a few laughs and I love leslie jordans character

Bialik is endearingly self-deprecating even when her slapstick klutziness pushes for laughs. Unfortunately, the shows gimmicks--frequent Fleabag-stye asides to the camera, the cast waving and taking bows at the end--just reinforce the stale artifice of it all. [18-31 Jan 2021, p.10]

A Fox sitcom that feels so tired and dated it's tempting to double-check the year. Loosely adapted from the British comedy "Miranda," the show revels in pratfalls, but none bigger than the banana peel it keeps slipping on in its pursuit of laughs.

Its trite attempts at humor and schlocky fourth-wall breaking might be an attempt at a nostalgic throwback but wind up making "Kat" feel like a failed '80s sitcom.

We hate to give Call Me Kat a thumbs down, given all the talent in front of and behind the camera. But the show sacrifices character for gimmicks, and the parts that aren’t gimmicky are mostly hacky and unfunny.

Transforms the nerd-comedy masterpiece The Big Bang Theory into—well, garbage.

If Miranda was a song, this show would be the drunken karaoke version.
The colourful sets are one of the few improvements. Most other things they have taken from the original Miranda don't work - mostly because they are just so poorly done. Mayim Bialik gives a rather unnuanced performance that, instead of pulling the show togther, only highlights how typecast the group is. Breaking the 4th wall is jumpy and shot using too many different camera angles. A far cry from the relaxed interactions curated of the original.

I’ll start off by saying that I loved Mayim Bialik when she was on Big Bang Therapy. However, her charm and timing is completely wasted on this show. Outside the titular Kat, every character is boring, has no charisma and the show is just flat-out not funny. I can’t see this making it past its first season. Four episodes in an I’ve maybe chuckled twice. What a shame.

This is one of the cringiest shows I’ve ever seen. Just painful. The lead actress is incredibly awkward and the writing is ham-handed. Stay away!

Bland and unfunny. The actors are definitely trying way too hard to be cohesive and funny. It is definitely forced. I would be surprised if it makes it to a second season.

American version of British series "Miranda" without any charm. This show doesn't really know what it is: funny; physical comedy; emotional conflict; one-line zingers; first person audience bonding; ???. Cast includes a couple of has-been personalities.
