Sad is that is, we have to admire a show that knows when to call it quits and goes out on top. Broadchurch does just that.

Broadchurch wraps up a three-season arc by pulling off an ambitious storyline about rape that is as devastating as it is instructive.

Season 3 of Broadchurch got back to what made the first season enjoyable: realistic detective work. This season's case isn't solved very easily, and Miller and Hardy have to slowly peel back layer after layer to get to the truth. I was satisfied with the conclusion. However, Danny's family is still woven into the story in what seems like a forced way, and I have some issues with how the show is paced at times (one enthralling episode will be followed by a boring episode). It's a solid detective show set in a location different from most in the same genre, but it's not a game changer by any means.

The weakest of the 3 seasons, I found the storyline to be drawn out and the victim's character and plotline to be unbelievable. Otherwise, the same great atmosphere, setting and acting from the series regulars.

[Broadchurch's] third and final eight-episode season, ticks all the Brit drama boxes and still manages to stand out from the mysteries some of us can’t get enough of.

Naturally some Broadchurch fans are bound to be disappointed if this mystery’s resolution doesn’t deliver a gut punch that feels as impactful as the Latimer case; such is the way of series endings. But it’s tough to find fault in Colman’s and Tennant’s portrayal of partnership.

Mr. Tennant and Ms. Colman--with a strong assist from the soap opera actress Julie Hesmondhalgh as the victim--are entertaining and moving right to the end.

Though Chibnall doesn't quite stick the landing in the last of the eight episodes--when we learn the truth about Trish's assault, it feels a bit too much like an "Author's Message" sign should be flashing--any fan of intelligent TV should watch Broadchurch Season 3.

Broadchurch’s emotional center has always been the Latimers, and it finds a conclusion to their story that feels right, if a little late in how it plays out.

this season does not reach the high levels of the first two but it gives a closure to the story. First season and how the criminal is caught second season and how the justice system fails and third season and the consecuences for the family in particular and the society in general.

I loved the first two seasons. So, imagine my disappointment, watching this story unfold with so many implausibilities and red herrings that were hard to follow and had no payoff at all. I questioned some of the casting, though Coleman and Tennant were as superb as ever. But the real problem was the writing, which had none of the assurance so evident in the first two seasons. Maybe it needed a female co-writer, given the theme; despite obvious efforts to get it right, some moments rang hollow, and sounded forced.

This season is painfully terrible. None of the cues matter. The rapist is a random character that had roughly 2 minutes of screen time. The level of blunt misandry is through the roof. And the casting... a bunch of young handsome men all pursuing, stalking or having sex with the same absolutely hideous old woman... what the actual heck?

so disappointing! after loving the first 2 seasons, this one is a purely an emotional story of wrapup of prior characters and the lessons how evil porn, **** and men in general are. very little detective work. very little logic. not my cup of tea
