No relaxing allowed with Boss. Sorry about that, and sorry for this series, which remains smart, absorbing and particularly well done.

Boss may be florid, but its peeks into backroom in-fighting, at favors promised and betrayed, remain strong elements in its favor.

What a cracking season! I don't understand why Boss did not rate through the roof. Easily one of the best shows again in 2012. Kelsey Grammer is riveting in ever scene supported by excellent performances throughout the whole cast. Above all else Boss is entertaining and throughout season 2, continued to be less than predictable at every twist and turn in the plot. Considering the rubbish that keeps getting renewed I can't believe it got cancelled. Hopefully the movie eventuates. the story deserves an ending.

The only thing this show has against it is that it's not being watched by millions, nevertheless, it's as good as it gets: superb acting, intrigue, sex, dirty politics and murder, all with an excellent production.

One of the triumphs of Boss is that we care as much as he [Tom Kane] does about what kind of Chicago he will leave behind.

The season's first episode is pretty damned riveting.

Though the series has its share of larger-than-life moments that ring hollow, its knack for extracting quiet beauty from all the mayhem lends Boss's best scenes the precision and artistry of a monstrous ballet.

It has sharpened this season (judging from the first five episodes) into a bolder, though still hardly subtle, urban melodrama of moral, political and sexual chicanery.

There are fitful moments that work, but the show also manages to shoot itself in the foot regularly.

No Emmy nominations, but a group of loyal followers! Yes, Boss is not being watched by millions of people, that is what turns it into a dramatic "treasure". Kane is the major no city would want and that's what makes it irresistable to watch: we love tiranny in some way. Keep it like that, Grammer!
