Whether you’re couchbound or attending a midnight screening, Ziam delivers just enough comforting genre delight to surpass the B-movie median–and for streaming horror geeks, that’s all we ultimately need to hear.

Delivering the blood, gore, and guts you would expect from the classics of the genre, Ziam has no intention of reinventing anything, unabashedly leaning into the tropes of these stories that audiences know well.

This movie knowsexactly what it is, a bloody zombie film with lots of great martial arts action and a brooding protagonist on a mission to rescue his future wife. Fun twist, the apocalypse already happened, long before the zombies arrive. A fresh new take on an old genre from Thailand (!) that proves once again why the collapse of Hollywood is irrelevant.

This film promised a lot more than it delivered. It's a mashup post-apocalyptic zombie film that retreads all of the cliches from post apocalyptic movies and zombie movies (i.e. it doesn't offer anything new).

The doctor is plucky, but only in the dullest and most predictable ways. Self-sacrifice shows up at the most expected moment. And the ticking clock third act has been here and done that in more movies than one can count.

Sadly a lot of talent and budget is wasted on this relentlessly unimaginative slog. The editing in the flight scenes ruins what could have been good fight choreography. It's almost totally devoid of any original ideas and felt like they wanted to capitalise on the success of Train to Busan (2016) but didn't have any ideas so just made it gory. It's very gory, so much gore but with no anticipation or impact so it quickly becomes tiresome. It got a bit ridiculous when he was using his mixed martial arts on the zombies. Anyway it has high production quality but with an unengaging story and characters except maybe the boy who has a couple of ridiculous moments. I got really annoyed when they didn't explain why that one guy is invincible. I'm going to move on from this mindless rubbish devoid of personality.

Sometimes you really have to wonder how certain movies even get released. Ziam is one of those cases. As a fan of the zombie genre, I always go in with some excitement. But this time, not even good intentions could save it. What was meant to be a tense, somewhat original apocalyptic thriller ends up as a complete **** script is beyond salvageable. It’s full of clichés, useless dialogue, characters that appear and vanish without explanation, and scenes that seem randomly stitched together. Whatever story might have existed is buried under sloppy, careless execution. And to make it worse, the actors don’t help at all — performances range from flat to overacted to just plain bad.Visually, there’s little to praise. The zombie design is... interesting, maybe, but that’s all: contortions and screams. The hospital setting, which should create claustrophobia and tension, feels slow and repetitive. Some moments are so ridiculous they verge on parody — but without any irony or wit.I give it a 2 just because it’s a zombie film, and that alone still sparks some interest in me. But even for this genre, which often embraces excess and absurdity, Ziam falls embarrassingly **** short, Ziam might be one of the worst zombie films I’ve ever seen. Terrible script, bad acting, and a story with no direction or tension. Not even recommended for genre lovers. Only the theme itself is worth the slightest bit of credit.

A mostly poorly acted, very predictable and formulaic film. Many others have done it far better. The English dubbing was terrible! Little to save it unfortunately. I like the genre, but this was a mess. Maybe it's better if you speak the native language? I wouldn't watch it again!
