O que podemos falar dessa obra prima que já não foi dita. Simplesmente um filme que cativou a cultura pop, um público diverso e a crítica em geral. E pensar que um filme dessa época tem gráficos melhores que muitos filmes atuais.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. A long journey begins. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is an epic adventure that grips you from the very first minute. Stunning cinematography, vibrant characters, and a profound plot create an atmosphere of magic and suspense. The animation and special effects perfectly convey the world of Middle-earth, and the music adds tragedy and beauty. The film is not only about battles and magic, but also about friendship, courage, and sacrifice. A true work of art, a must-see for every fantasy lover.

A 6-hour library sofa marathon that proved fantasy isn't my thing, yet its sheer cinematic mastery still forced a perfect 5.0 through the drowsiness.260312 (5.0)During a summer break in 2009, I spent six hours straight in the university library's media room, stacking LOTR DVDs on a plush sofa. That day, I realized medieval fantasy really isn't my cup of tea, and fighting off sleep was a genuine struggle. Despite that, the film’s undeniable quality and scale earned it a 5.0—a monumental memory of recognizing a masterpiece while barely staying awake.

Watch the extended edition only.95 / 100This is one of the best movies of all time, from the best trilogy of all time. It is 2026, and I have just walked out of the cinema after watching The Fellowship of the Ring in its extended edition; therefore, this review is based entirely on that **** Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition) is as close to cinematic perfection as epic fantasy gets. It blends myth, emotion, spectacle, and philosophy into a cohesive whole that still holds up decades later. Its few flaws are structural or conceptual rather than executional.I watched the movie as a child, but I wanted the full cinematic experience, so when it returned to theaters, I went back. I am not disappointed.Although it is difficult to rank this film without immediately following it with Part 2 and Part 3, it still works remarkably well as a standalone experience. For me, this movie is near perfect. It is everything a movie should be. One word describes it best: EPIC. I had goosebumps in the cinema. The cinematography may be the best of all time, and the score is simply out of this world.Story & ScreenplayThe plot, based on Tolkien’s books, is monumental in scope and ambition. The world-building is unmatched: races, languages, cultures, and history all feel lived-in and authentic. What I love most is the ending. It is not a cheap cliffhanger. While it naturally makes you want to continue the journey, it still feels complete, which gives the film real emotional **** story feels both entirely original and strangely familiar, drawing on religion, mythology, and history without being **** main critique comes from realism within the fantasy. Orcs, once elves, are portrayed as largely incompetent fighters, often attacking one by one. At times it feels as if one human is worth thirty orcs. Stronger enemy competence would have elevated the tension. Likewise, the famous line “Fly, you fools” raises logical questions, especially given later scenes involving flight. I am sure there is lore behind it, but as a viewer it remains slightly confusing.Dialogue & ActingThe dialogue is exceptional—some of the best ever written for film. Many lines feel timeless and could easily function as powerful political or historical speeches. The performances elevate every word. This movie made me laugh, cry, and feel everything in between. While it may not devastate like Schindler’s List, its emotional impact is consistently high **** acting is excellent across the board. Sean Bean, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, and the actor playing Samwise all deliver iconic performances. There are no weak links. Gandalf, in particular, stands as one of cinema’s greatest characters. While these are not Oscar-bait performances in the traditional sense, they are exactly right for the world and tone.Chemistry & CharactersThe chemistry between characters is extraordinary, especially given the size of the ensemble. Few films manage this level of believable connection across so many roles. The hobbits feel genuinely bonded, and I cared deeply about every member of the **** only characters that underwhelmed me slightly were the Ringwraiths. Visually intimidating, yes—but in combat they felt oddly ineffective, particularly in the river sequence.Cinematography, Editing & SoundThe cinematography is breathtaking. The framing, lighting, color, and camera movement—achieved in 2001–2002—still surpass many modern films. Landscapes, chases, and mounted sequences are stunning.Editing and pacing are astonishing for a film exceeding three hours. The rhythm almost never falters. Scene transitions are smooth, and the story flows naturally.Howard Shore’s score is legendary, ranking alongside Gladiator, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. Enya’s voice feels ethereal and perfectly suited to Middle-earth. The sound design enhances tension and atmosphere like an additional character.Production Design & EffectsMiddle-earth feels real. Sets, costumes, props, languages, and cultures form the gold standard of world-building. My only minor complaint is the wizard duel between Saruman and Gandalf, which felt less potent than expected.Final ThoughtsEveryone should watch this film. Beyond entertainment, it offers depth, moral clarity, and timeless lessons about temptation, humility, courage, and honor—especially through Boromir. This is cinema at its highest level.

Rarely does the film surpass the book. This first part of one of cinema’s greatest sagas began, for me, with very modest expectations. My experience with the book was negative, which made me fear that the film would be overwhelming and tedious due to its density. However, the surprise is overwhelmingly positive from the very beginning. The film stands out for its remarkable production values. The performances are solid, the cinematography is extremely crafted, detailed, and impressive, with effects that still hold up remarkably well today. The set design is equally strong, adding depth and character to the world. The soundtrack may not linger in memory, but it works perfectly for this kind of film. Overall, the result is enjoyable both visually and aurally. I greatly appreciate Peter Jackson’s narrative clarity. The book can be overwhelming with its abundance of names, places, and concepts, but Jackson translates all that into a visual language that is both clear and accessible. The information is presented intelligently, allowing the viewer to follow the story without feeling lost or overwhelmed. The differences between the book and the film are undeniable, but far from detrimental. On the contrary, they enhance the experience. Nothing feels sacrificed; the story gains cohesion and rhythm. I had feared the film’s runtime—not because it lasts nearly four hours, but due to the potential density of the plot—but the pacing dispels that concern. The nearly four-hour length never becomes an obstacle, especially when the final half-hour is credits. I wouldn’t say the film completely captivates me, but this first installment leaves a positive impression. It is a grand welcome to Tolkien’s universe, demonstrating that adaptations can honor the source material while improving the cinematic experience by understanding potential pitfalls and avoiding them.

Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a masterclass in epic storytelling, seamlessly blending breathtaking visuals, meticulously crafted world-building, and deeply human emotion. The film introduces audiences to Middle-earth with a perfect balance of wonder, danger, and intimate character moments, making even its extended three-hour runtime feel purposeful and engaging. The Fellowship’s journey is imbued with courage, friendship, and moral complexity, anchored by performances that feel timeless and sincere. Howard Shore’s sweeping score elevates every scene, while Jackson’s direction ensures that spectacle never overshadows heart. For newcomers and longtime fans alike, this film is not just a fantasy adventure—it is an immersive, emotionally resonant cinematic experience that stands as a benchmark for the genre.

With the first installment of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Peter Jackson did the almost impossible: He brought J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth to life in the hills of New Zealand, appealing to longtime fans and newcomers who might be wary of the jargon about elves and orcs. The film set a new bar for fantasy blockbusters with makeup and effects that still hold up, and set pieces that are immersive and occasionally terrifying. As soon as Howard Shore’s score kicks in, it’s hard not to feel transported.

I don't want to waste too much time on this classic. After all these years, it still looks as great as the first time. The feeling that a great adventure is yet to come, even though several adventures are told in this film alone, gives "The Fellowship of the Ring" **** remarkable as Jackson's adaptation of the book is, for long stretches this film feels almost rushed once Frodo leaves the Shire. And that's understandable, since the first film has to lay the groundwork for eight more hours of various plot threads. And Jackson succeeds. Rushed is perhaps the wrong word; breathless would be more appropriate. This has the advantage that the first four hours of "Lord of the Rings" never become boring. Only after the adventures in Moria does the pace noticeably slow, and I found myself checking my watch.Aside from a few green screens, CGI ruins, stuttering 2000s slow motion, and a bad sound mix on my old Blu-ray, there's nothing wrong with this film. Everything else is great!

How can you not be enamored? The start of Peter Jackson's interpretation of J.R.R Tolkien's masterful three-set work of art. The pinnacle of storytelling begins with a lot of exposition and an introduction to the menacing wring of power and its seeker, Sauron. The tale's heroes are also introduced as they make their way through perils most would never have imagined. I don't believe there are aspects of any of these movies that I don't like. The only reason this movie isn't a nine or higher is because it's mostly exposition, but it needs to be, to set up the rest of the story. For its time, the cinematography and SFX are out of this world, similar to the riveting and unbelievability that you get from any of the first six Star Wars films. How quickly you can fall in love with and look up to the characters is fantastic. You are hooked and eager for the end of the story the second the camera pans over the beautiful shire.

The Fellowship of the Ring, Peter Jackson's first swing at J.R.R. Tolkien's daunting multi-volume masterwork, lands flush on the chin of fans and casuals alike. It's a gorgeous example of just how well a literary adaptation can perform with the right mix of passion, budget, vision and expertise. Jackson's direction, though quite long-winded, seems fat-free and balanced with a good sense of when to press forward and when to admire its surroundings. The acting is a broad mix - while Ian McKellen resides comfortably in the quasi-leading role of Gandalf the Gray and Viggo Mortensen is both gallant and inspiring as Aragorn, I found Elijah Wood just a bit too doe-eyed as the ring-bearing hobbit, Frodo. That's nit-picking at its finest, admittedly, especially given the scene-stealing part played by the realm of Middle Earth itself. Staggeringly realized with an obsessive attention to detail, it's a stern flex of the artistic muscle unlike anything I've seen, before or after. Watching the film today, in the shadow of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is doubly rewarding, as dozens of throwbacks to the events of that film are planted like seedlings throughout the landscape. For my money, this is also the best plot of the three LotR volumes. With one foot planted firmly on the ground and the other teasing the abyss, it covers a gamut of emotions, isn't bashful about shedding important cast members, and gives its audience a sweeping taste of the many colors and flavors present in this world. A wonderful fantasy/adventure hybrid, spiced with action at all the right moments, that does its mythical source material (and the legion of associated fans) proud.

Wtf, I watched this movie hyped because I heard from everyone it was a masterpiece but except for the introduction (that was so cool) the movie was so d4mn boring. Man, I hate so much that the only enemies in these movies are monsters that don't talk and an ultra-Manichaean villain who is like the incarnation of evil. And the adventure is just tiresome I don't understand how people liked so much this movie.

One of my all time favorite movies as a kid and it still holds up today. I watched a special edition with all the extra scenes and it makes it a whole experience that doesn't feel like any of the characters is left out to dry you get all the good character interaction and boromir a gets the scene. He needs to be a likable sad Guy. The visuals are still amazing. It looks so good. There are some scenes where they use 3D puppets and character for a meme guy in the minds that I ice couldn't not look at but all the other things look amazing and the painting they used in the background and special effects and many sneaky ways they used the camera as to make the hobbits look smaller than they are. actors amazing job they made this story with is a bit hokey and cringe sometimes but they sell it it never feels cringe it feels so honest and believable despite. How old fashioned fantasy it is. I have watched this movie a lot of times and I still tear up at some points. I still get emotional and if I still do that that means that the movie still has a lot of value and sentimental abilities and honest and wholesome and friendly bromance between every character is what I need.
