It is a terrifically scary movie that I wish were more haunting.

A solidly intense creepout. Granted, it doesn't do anything to rewrite the horror rulebook in any significant way. This won't be remembered as a horror classic by any stretch. "The Exorcist" it is not.

i liked it. I thought it was fun and scary at the same time, one of my favorite.

There is no sense of dread or impending doom; instead it's just one jolt after another. It's like having someone jump out at you every five minutes, and about as much fun.

It isn’t to say that The Curse of La Llorona is bad; it definitely had the crowd I watched it with screaming in horrified delight and laughing at just the right moments. But it lacks any cultural understanding of its subject and is a missed opportunity to connect to the plethora of ghost stories the Latino culture contains in its soul. Que pena!

It’s the opposite of frightening: a sludgy collection of tired jump scares, inexpertly mounted period décor—this time we’re in a too-shiny 1973 Los Angeles—and a continued slump into generic blahness.

It’s a paint-by-numbers would-be blockbuster entirely built around the delusional notion that general audiences can’t be scared by anything more thoughtful than recycled jump shocks and derivative monsters.

The movie’s one saving grace — so to speak — is Raymond Cruz (Tuco from “Better Call Saul”) as a priest turned shaman. He, at least, injects a little wry humor into a film that otherwise bored me to tears.

Stereotypical horror stuff. Kids are unbearably stupid (the door and doll scene, for those who have watched). I refuse to accept that any person is actually as stupid as in these movies. All that being said, horror movies are pretty much a standard formula. Plus sides however: acting was good, Raphael was really good and enjoyable. And some nice jump scares.

The movie has couple of interesting build up but literally every single Jumpscare in this movie was done very cheaply, and that's only a couple of build up, the rest of the build up **** and so do the movie, not only i don't found La Llorona to be an interesting character or ghost or whatever, i just didn't dig her at all, and not only that, the whole movie just feel bland, flat, weird, cheap, cringe, lame, ridiculous, silly, and boring, it's so poorly written even though the performances was not horrible, they already messed up the backstory of La Llorona and they have this very uninteresting, boring, and flat continuation story, also fills with cheap and sometimes silly jumpscare and all of them was so predictable, they have this long ass build up for a very cheap short Jumpscare, some of the thing i still accept besides the performances being not bad and couple of interesting build up was the returning Priest and Rafael which i like at first then he also eventually become useless and cringe, The Curse Of La Llorona was not worth the time even if it's only 93 minutes long, besides that in terms of being a movie The Curse Of La Llorona was not only the worst movie in The Conjuring universe but it is also one of the worst horror movie i've ever watch, it's god awful, it's boring, and it's very lame, so lame.

I didn't enjoy it. AT ALL. Throughout the movies runtime all I remember doing was joking around with a friend that watched it with me because of how utterly boring the story was. It had weird choices taken by characters, a monster that makes irrational decisions that make no sense whatsoever even if you try to make it make sense, and relies only on the average jump scare to actually try and scare you. I wouldn't recommend watching it if you want to actually be scared but I definitely recommend watching it if you like laughing at movies every once in a while (I certainly enjoy watching Shark Tale every now and again). In conclusion, this feels like a money grab (although it didn't really succeed at this too) since James Wan's involvement make it possible for La Llorona to be part of the Conjuring Universe. Stupid characters, Stupid monster, Cliche... basically disappointing.
