Shut In

A really enjoyable thriller. Cast was great and it’s easy to get behind the mother, redeeming herself from a wasted life of drug abuse to do anything for her kids, as she puts family above all else and is rewarded in the end.

Shut in was a nice surprise, I didn't have high expectations as modern thrillers and horrors are predictable, this one wasn't. There were a few moments where the movie was a little bit annoying as it dragged for a few minutes, but other than that it was a great suspense filled movie. It has some very claustrophobic moments, so for those who have trouble with that, just beware.

Though obviously made with a low budget, the strong acting and believable characters make this film worth the watch.

Shut In is a mediocre but successful movie that manages to make a huge story out of a very simple problem which makes me watch it to the end. Even though it has some tempo problems and strains my nerves with the little girl, it still got my attention. I don't recommend it to everyone, but it seems like the viewer won't be upset either.

If you are able to accept the narrative device it uses for almost 80% of its running time without any deep questioning, then Shut In may have something interesting in store for you. I, for one, found it too frustrating and inoperative because after about 20 minutes it gets bogged down until its final act which also fails to evoke the emotions that everything else failed to provide. I just couldn't get into it.

Boring, pathetic, pointless. Most of movie takes place inside a pantry. No, for real. Nice to see Vincent Gallo after nearly a decade, who remains 100% a committed performer. The rest is snooze-inducing.
