Avery’s film is a solid piece of genre entertainment, grounded by excellent performances, and clever enough to find a new way to present the same old tropes. Like an old hunk of junk fixed and cleaned up, and made into something new again, and worth paying full price for.

The Boys, Samaritan is not. But even a failed attempt at making a superhero movie out of whole cloth rather than pre-existing IP is welcome, particularly one that challenges the genre’s mores.

This movie is awesome. Today’s critics are too out of touch with today’s audience.

loved it. sure has it flaws ( annoying kid) but it's refreshing to see a movie with a simple message and NO woke in your face garabge. gave me back a bit of hope for Movies.

The movie doesn’t stand out for its action scenes, has nothing new to say about the old good-versus-evil conflict at the center of any superhero story, and is incapable of giving its villains real purpose. Stallone is a strong man, but even he cannot carry the weight of an entire movie alone.

Screen Rant
In the end, Samaritan commits a cardinal sin of the superhero genre: It thinks a high-profile actor with vaguely defined superpowers is enough to make the film interesting when it clearly needs something more.

It’s a fresh spin that feels awfully stale, a Samaritan less good and more mediocre.

Samaritan proves, to paraphrase Tina Turner, that we don’t need another superhero.

It’s a pastiche of a pastiche, cycling through familiar tropes without adding anything to them; turning what could have been a fascinating critique of society’s superhero obsession into just another way of indulging it.

Stallone still does it well as an action "hero"(?) even this late in his age, the movie was ok, but not very memorable or too entertaining. Not a bad movie, but not a masterpiece either.

If a more comic approach had been taken, this movie may have been much better. The jokes created for them typically fall flat since there are so many stand-up comedians trying to include comedy and action in movies. Poor jokes end up sounding trite because people expect them to be funny. However, the unexpected delivery actually starts to be amusing when a serious character—such as a classic action hero—turns comedic. In an unconventional comedy/action movie character, Sly might excel. Although I could be mistaken, I don't remember him ever trying this in his professional life.

Classic simplistic Stallone with plenty of woke. All predictable, cheap unrealistic fighting scenes defying first-graders intelligence, silly story. All with the evil white man and color heroic mother that are being shoved down your throat nowadays.

Sylvester Stallone better go back to the 'Creed' universe, because his try at being a superhero couldn't have been more generic and subpar, even more than most recent Marvel films.
