The A.V. Club
Piles on the glam-rock spectacle and coal-black comedy at such a brusque pace that it often seems in danger of rattling off the rails entirely.

The Hollywood Reporter
This would-be cult film is unlikely to inspire "Rocky Horror"-style devotion.

This film was made by the same duo that made Devil's Carnival. It is well worth the watch for both films, as long as you approach it with a mindset that it doesn't want or need to be taken seriously, and you don't mind listening to people sing, Watch through it and make your own judgements. Personally, I think it worth the time, as the songs tend to pop into your head weeks or months later, and you find your favorites on youtube just to hear them again.

A fantastic musical and movie. The cast is great and perform exceptionally. The story is good and well written as are the songs. If you are looking for a good horror/musical give it a watch.

It's not often you come across a film as unique as this, and while my taste for liver, lights, and sweetbreads isn't what it once was, this is still a fine post-Halloween aperitif, with guts to spare.

Check out the trailer before you commit to this one; if it's for you, you'll know instantly. And if it's not, you'll know that, too.

If steampunk bloodbaths aren't for you, it's a long wait for the fat lady to sing.

Misery is enduring this Rocky Horror Paris Show.

The grim finality of the ensuing pietà suggests the last act of Hamlet or, rather, Hamlet 2--so embarrassing that, for the first time, I wanted to avert my eyes from the screen, although that might have also been because Repo! appears to have been shot with a cell phone.

It has an interesting visual style and that is different to the vast majority of films and TV shows but I can’t help thinking that this unique style was used to hide a low budget. Still I quite liked it; especially the CGI world. Good solid surround sound and powerful bass. My first and biggest gripe is that they were singing the whole time - there was basically no talking whatsoever. Some of the music was okay, for a musical. It was a very operatic story of love lost and organ removal. Quite a cool concept but why did it have to be a musical and not a horror comedy? It also felt self-indulgent on the director’s part. Probably not worthy of your time.

Just as bloody, gory and terrifying as the "Saw" series. We have some nice music and lyrics but it gets exceedingly dull as the movie trudges on.

This attempt at a rock/metal(?) opera is a complete and utter disaster. Everyone involved is clearly trying hard, and Terrance Zdunich, in particular, seems to think he's created something truly special. And that makes for a highly entertaining 90 minutes, the kind where you think: Surely someone MUST have noticed this...!This futuristic dystopia uses transparent(!) paper – that's the level of idiocy we're talking about with "Repo! The Genetic Opera".

How is the user score at 8.2? Am I missing something here? The film is quite terrible. The songs aren't memorable, the story feels non-existent with nothing to really pull it forward except songs that aren't worth tapping your foot to, and the whole thing is just boring. It's sad when Paul Sorvino is better at singing than anyone else in this piece of dung.
