This is peak Jack Black comedy, he literally owns the screen from beginning to end and never leaves you hanging. Dead-ass bro, this would be a perfect movie if it was just Black the whole time, but the rest of the cast did their very best to match his energy. Take a Nacho dip my mang, this movie does not stop being funny.... ever!

The rhythmic machinery of a monastic wrestler: A 3.0-star vivid but uneven drift through quirky absurdity.2008(3.0)I watched "Nacho Libre" on New Year's Day in 2008, and it remains a functional 3.0-star record in my archive—a vivid but ultimately stagnant exploration of lucha libre dreams. This experience **** the fourth wall of the sports comedy genre by infusing Jared Hess’s raw and deadpan visual style with a high-tension eccentricity that felt 100% unique but often mechanical. While the production attempted a sensational and rebellious take on the underdog trope, the narrative rhythm felt too stagnant and episodic, dragging through a pathetic cycle of flatulence jokes and awkward silences that lacked the chewy intellectual depth of my 5.0-star pillars. Seeing Jack Black’s vivid but pathetic dedication to the role provided a rhythmic sense of humor, but the emotional payoff felt too stagnant and thin, leaving me in a state of silent frustration at its repetitive structure. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the rhythmic, raw aesthetic of the Mexican wrestling ring and the vivid but stagnant warmth of the cinematography, creating a journey that felt more like a pathetic diversion than a permanent, sensational scar on my soul. Unlike the vivid soul of "Hot Fuzz" or the raw energy of "Shaun of the Dead," this encounter possessed a rhythm that was far too stagnant to reach a higher tier. It stands in my 2011 record as a vivid exercise in stylistic quirkiness—a 3.0-star artifact of rhythmic mildness that remained too stagnant to achieve a sensational impact on my psychological archive.

Nacho Libre is the kind of movie that sneaks up on you. What starts as a goofy wrestling comedy turns into a genuinely charming underdog story with heart, humor, and a whole lot of stretchy pants. Jack Black fully commits to the role of Ignacio, a monastery cook with dreams of becoming a luchador, and his performance is equal parts ridiculous and endearing. The movie blends absurd physical comedy with oddly sincere moments, and the result is something weirdly magical. The soundtrack is quirky, the visuals are unique, and the whole thing feels like a live-action cartoon in the best way. It may not be for everyone, but if you’re into offbeat comedies with heart and weird wisdom like “Beneath the clothes… we find a man. And beneath the man… we find his nucleus,” then this one’s for you. A cult classic that earns its laughs and its heart.

more than a silly kids film, this movie talks about perseverance, pushing through when no one believes in you and the people who are there for you at your lowest low. This film combines those ideas and throws Jack Black in there to make it so much more entertaining. I laughed so much the first time I saw this film and still do! Don’t get why it’s so poorly rated

Didn't quite work for me. Which is disappointing given what a huge fan I am of Napoleon Dynamite. Like that other Jared Hess comedy, most of the humor comes from watching characters in a slightly cartoonish world do and say ridiculous things in a deadpan manner. Only because this is a Nickelodeon production there are also fart jokes. That's kind of the problem. This is primarily aimed at children so the whole thing is very juvenile. Too juvenile even. There are some themes you can pick out involving being unhappy with your place in life specifically in regards to class and some shots taken at organized religion, but it will all go over the kids' heads while adults will be too annoyed by all the slapstick and gross out gags to care. The are certainly some funny moments, but not enough to keep this from missing the mark with the older members of the family.

Nacho Libre is such a entertaining film, though the film is not perfect, Nacho Libre have an impressive cinematography, great location, and some pretty good performance by all the cast, Nacho Libre is definitely enjoyable to watch.

Charming and unique story about the fairly obscure Mexican Wrestling culture. It's a shame that depsite a lot of heart and nice cinematography, it's the humor that falls short. When it does try to be funny, it relys too much on absurdaty, slapstick and awkwardness, rather than genuine humor.

A warm comedy about a cook at an orphanage who dreams about becoming a wrestling star. Right from the start, this movie grasps its time and it takes a while to get used to the pacing but after the 2nd watch the still shots and Easter eggs in the background are fun to notice. What I hated. There isn't much I hated but I feel that this movie was padded out to be a motion picture. Nacho Libre is 92 minutes long but cutting the beginning and end credits, it's more of a 80 minute film. This doesn't even count all the still shots and characters taking their sweet time walking (driving) or looking into the camera. This movie isn't bad but it does feel that it could have been a bit longer but maybe this was due to budget reasons? (25M Budget.) What I loved. This movie is quotable. "I want to weeeeeen!" and "Get that corn out of my face!" are hilarious. Nacho is well spirited and the support cast also did a good job. This movie also has a great soundtrack. It's just such a shame that it also suffers from the same pacing that the movie has us running on. (20-30 milers per hour.) I feel that the story needed to be a bit longer and this movie is in no way trash at all for being short but I can't help have this feeling of emptiness through out the whole movie. Even the end was abrupt. I do recommend a free watch (Netflix) and a 2nd watch if enjoyed. It's not for everyone but I can't ignore the good time this film gave me. I give Nacho Libre a 6 out of 10. Chicken soup for the soul.

Nacho Libre gets some hate from critics and viewers alike, but here's what I think about it... Nacho Libre is consistently entertaining the whole way through, and occasionally loud-out-loud hilarious. There were two moments I can remember where I laughed long and loud for some time after the punchline. I've seen this movie twice now and it was just as enjoyable, if not more enjoyable, the second time I watched it. The glue that holds this movie together is Jack Black. He was practically born for the role he plays in this movie, and is just a really enjoyable, entertaining character for the whole movie. The setting for this movie works really well and, along with the music, has some real charm. All in all, the movie isn't perfect, but is still a really fun, enjoyable movie.

At least Jack Black tried to make a movie for kids and Nickelodeon. The hardest thing to think about here is, "Why do we even have a movie for Jack Black trying to make us laugh?"

I thought this movie was funny. You know, I saw a review that Roger Ebert gave and I'm sorry that his jaw fell off and he **** it was obvious that the man couldn't follow the plot at all.

This fun, friendly Mexican style comedy, and Jack Black was amazing, but in other respects not feature at all. Maybe it's one of the best comedy movies, but nothing else, can not say more about this film.

Nacho Libre is string cheese. Jack Black once again succeeds at the likeable fat guy in this outrageous but funny tale of a Mexican wrestler. A fair story, okay jokes, and really just a fun movie.

I have to say that this movie was not funny not entertaining. The fight scenes were funny but in general the movie is bad. Firstly, it is racist to latin american people and i don't think this is funny. I love Jack Black. He makes great films that make you laugh. But in this one i was disappointed with the script i guess that wants to show racist thoughts. Too bad

Too many comedies nowadays rely on crudeness to get over with movie-goers. This movie does not. And guess what? IT WORKS. This is one of the funniest Jack Black movies I've ever seen, combined with a GREAT sound-track it'll just leave you smiling when it's finished, which is what a PROPER comedy should do

It tries so hard, you might even imagine the writers sweating as they drilled away at the screenplay. The result is a Jack Black comedy which is absolutely and surprisingly bland.

Nacho libre is hilarious, its so, so funny, it is stupid, but that's what I love about it! Jack Black is so hilariously good in it. It is a bit weird and stupid, and it may offend some people, but I love it! Its not quite a ten out of ten movie, it totally deserves a nine.
