It Feeds delivers a layered and unpredictable narrative. Much of that independent energy comes from its strong ensemble cast: Ashley Greene, Ellie O’Brien, Juno Rinaldi, Shayelin Martin, Shawn Ashmore, and Scott Baker.

Because of its powerful, universal themes, terrifying creature, and strong characters, It Feeds delivers a resonant horror experience about the pain of shared trauma.

Watched with my girlfriend and she really loved this one, low budget movie that was done extremely well; well written protaganist, along with her family, unique and fleshed out antagonist.

An average movie that would benefit from having a different protagonist, It Feeds delivers good horror and suspense, but misses a bit in the choice of protagonist. Even though the original protagonist delivers a good plot, her daughter has a more relevant arc. The story follows Cynthia, a psychiatrist with psychic powers, and her daughter Jordan. The two manage a psychiatric clinic that specializes in a special treatment: Cynthia can literally enter people's minds to explore their traumas in order to make them overcome them. The idea here is clear, we are not following two fragile women in a dark world, Cynthia, mainly, knows well what she is dealing with and with the dangers of her astral projection. Everything goes relatively well until a girl enters her clinic desperate for being haunted by an entity. The background is interesting and the development of the narrative, good. The slight problem of the film is that Jordan seems to have an arc of transformation and overcoming much greater than Cynthia, including unlockings that the writer could explore better, but Cynthia in the end is the one who takes the role of protagonist. Acceptable, but a shame. Still, an OK movie, fun and coherent. It is worth it for fans of the genre in search of something lighter and less dense, or less tense.

Writer/director Chad Archibald still shows some promise here, especially whenever he lets his actors, cinematographer, makeup, creature, and production designer sell what is, at heart, a generic possession story. He thankfully does this often enough to keep the plot’s familiar and slowly dispensed beats from feeling too rote.

It may not stick around in your memory with the persistence demonstrated by the entity towards its victims, but it passes the time chillingly enough.

It Feeds is a decent entry into the supernatural horror genre, offering a slightly different take on a familiar concept centered around paranormal forces and psychic **** was refreshing to see a few recognizable faces in the cast. However, like many modern horror films, it seems to borrow heavily from the jump-scare formula popularized by the Insidious franchise. While the film attempts to recreate that same tension and shock value, it never quite captures the precision or impact that made the original so **** final scene, in particular, felt unnecessary. In my opinion, the film would have benefited from ending just moments earlier, as the added conclusion somewhat undercut the tension that had been built.Despite its shortcomings, It Feeds remains a serviceable watch for horror fans looking for something new within the genre.
