Últimamente, lo que opina la crítica y lo que opino yo difieren bastante. Esta película se convierte en otra totalmente aburrida, donde la historia no importa y lo que sucede al final es que triunfa el “amor”, por supuesto, como es de esperar, con alguien a quien apenas conoces y dejas de lado a la persona con quien te ibas a casar. Totalmente verosímil y enriquecedor. Lo único bueno, o nuevo que aporta, es todo el folclore de Escocia, las leyendas, los dialectos y las locaciones. El problema es que se queda por detrás, solo está ahí como decoración, lo que es una pena que se desaproveche. Película olvidable.
