Neveldine and Taylor’s spazzy (but coherent) action scenes rely mostly on blood spurts instead of feats of badassery, but their dystopia is inventive and their visual schemes diverse.

The trouble with Gamer is that it’s weird, but not weird enough for the long haul.

A deep analytical piece into the Video Gaming Culture and how entangled it has become into the lives of millions of "Gamers" worldwide.... Haha i'm kidding this movie is a trainwreck in a half but if you like bad movies then you'll love this movie as much as me and my friend loved riffing on it.

The audience gets played in Gamer. This latest eye-scraper from writer-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor is as hopped up as their "Crank" pics, but with dour Gerard Butler as a soldier commandeered by a teenage gamer, it's considerably less interactive.

I wonder if Gamer might make a good game; it certainly doesn't make a good movie.

Rarely have the words "game over" come as such sweet relief.

Directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor were responsible for the delirious "Crank" and "Crank 2" but left the magic behind when they threw together this tedious mash-up of "Tron," "Rollerball," "The Matrix," etc.

Fantastic dystopian sci fi concept with a strong cast and decent action scenes. Sadly it failed to successfully capture the essence of online gaming which is a shame despite the effort to include little Easter egg type nods (the tea bag and HUD effects!). It effectively it plays out like an almost running man gladiatorial type of affair. The ocd quick edits/ cuts and direction are a bit much at times but overall it is a decent watch.

Have you every wondered what it would be like if 1987's The Running Man director Paul Michael Glaser took acid laced with LSD and then directed the movie? Well friends you don't have to wait any longer because Gamer is here! Gamer is another fast paced, gory (and sometimes pointless) action film written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brain Taylor. You may recognize these guys from creating the insane Crank movies staring Jason Statham. Well it appears they only have one way of directing at the moment because Gamer is no different. With heightened colors, sounds, imagery, and a hand held camera, Gamer provides plenty of "what the hell?" moments for the audience. Read full review at ****

Full of stereotypes. I think the editors and the writers were drunk while making the movie.

Great concept but bad realization. It's damn boring. I can't mention a good part of it. Nobody is recommended to watch this. Avoid it, it's a waste of time.
