Free Birds

A more than worthy (and weird) holiday diversion for the whole family.

Free Birds has the colorful palette, zippy action and silly story to keep kids giggling, but it also delivers a few worthwhile winks to parents.

A cute but disposable item were it not for the story’s weird racial undertow.

Children, of course, won’t notice the political subtext. But do be prepared for them to exit the theater demanding that you make only Tofurkey in the future.

A forgettable — and occasionally borderline offensive — animated tale of turkeys trying to take back Thanksgiving.

In execution, the film is all sidekicks and sight gags, with little story cohesion or purpose.

The characters are so two-dimensional that a meaningful connection with the material isn't elusive; it's downright impossible.

I don't understand the hate. They are literally going back in the time to the first thanksgiving to take turkey off the menu.

Watching the movie, is genuinely strange and at times, makes you question what the direction was for this film. You're not sure if it was meant to be an ironic **** or an incompetent satire. But my god, does it have funny moments. I really enjoyed this film and how it embraced the wacky premise and went all the way. It does have a somewhat forced middle act of sympathizing the turkeys but hey, if you've got nothing better to watch Thanksgiving and are willing to have a laugh at a movie that knows its premise is ridiculous. I'd give it a watch.

many people complain about this movie, and I know why. I admit it's bad, but at least I like. a little. the story is something out of the ordinary, a few birds, or turkeys, or chickens. WTF WHAT ARE THEY? on a mission to prevent the turkey be the Thanksgiving meal? it is something original, however it is not liked by many. the characters are forgettable, especially jake. music is forgettable, i almost not hear music in the action scenes. (My opinion) is a film to hang out with your family, or rather with your younger brother or cousin. yes i liked, more or less. free birds is not a bad film to 100% if you compare it with other bad movies of 2013, as planes.

time traveling turkeys go back in time to stop turnkeys from being the main menu on thanksgiving dinner go I need to say more........................

Free Birds has a very intriguing (and weird) premise but executes it very poorly through an unbelievably predictable and unfunny adventure. It isn't a disaster, but it is horrible.
