While Dougherty clearly had an almost eerie sense of how a particular actor might inhabit a part, this film also shows that she may have single-handedly created a filmmaking craft and then made it indispensable.

I think most movie lovers would enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the casting process and the woman whose intuitive work helped to make the casting director not only more important, but more appreciated. It's fun to hear about "stroke of genius" moves in which the right person managed to land in the right role ... for example, Jon Voight in "Midnight Cowboy," and Robert Redford & Paul Newman swapping roles in "Butch Cassidy." It might have been interesting to hear more about some casting debacles, as well.
