What a waste of brilliant actresses far too brilliant to ever waste away. Soooo tiresome, so weary, so predictable, the likes of such cutesy themes and plots featuring spunky, "Funky" Ol' Ladies gettin' down to antics so uncharacteristic of gender and age -- as though there were no better, more poignant, substantial messages and stories to convey. In short, these 'Easy Out' attempts to avoid the stereo-typical have become, instead, the worst, most hokey forms of stereotyping in the world of filmmaking. THIS funky Ol' Lady's got nuthin' against a good cry, when prompted by something honest and appropriate. Gotta' run now-- time to get to my Riverdance rehearsal with my one-legged dance troupe.

80 for Brady is an existential nightmare indescribable to any sane men who dare to watch it. These four old women, who carry the incredible ability of pulling men half their age, pull off the herculean task of traveling the country to worship the ground which the man, the myth, the legend, Tom Brady, walks. Watch them commit various crimes to basically cheat the Patriots into a Super Bowl win through the power of cancer as they eat spicy wings with Guy Fieri, advertise erotic fanfiction about Gronkowski, and meet totally real and not at all fictionalized former NFL player Dan O'Callahan. To call this a movie would be harrowing, disrespectful nonsense- this is an experience to behold as you feel your life force drained away by Tom Brady. Truly, we live in a golden time of entertainment.

IN A NUTSHELL: Some of Hollywood’s top leading ladies come together to celebrate their friendship, aging gracefully, and cheering on their favorite football player. The story is about a group of friends who travel to the Super Bowl in order to meet NFL star Tom Brady. The goofy flick was directed by Kyle Marvin. The writers were Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins. THINGS I LIKED: The award-winning cast is adorable together and includes Jane Fonda, Lilly Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field. Between the four leading ladies, they have 12 Oscar nominations and 5 wins! They have great chemistry together and look like they’re having a blast. It’s great to see older actresses still starring in movies. Sally’s character keeps reminding the others that she is NOT in her 80s. She tells them she’s only 75, which was her real age at the time of filming the movie. She and Jane Fonda were both nominated for an Oscar at the same time; Sally won. Jane Fonda’s hair always looks incredible. In the movie, we see that they’re all wigs. Other celebrities make an appearance such as Patton, Billy Porter, Harry Hamlin, Sara Gilbert, Jimmy O. Yang, Glynn Turman, and Guy Fieri (Lilly Tomlin’s character described him as a flaming hot Cheeto.) You’ll love seeing some of today’s big football players interact with the cast: Rob Gronkowski. Anyone would be so lucky to have friends like these who share a passion together. We get to see old clips of Tom Brady playing football, as well as see him in the current day as a member of the cast. Even if you’re not a Tom Brady fan or football fan, you’ll still get a kick out of this loving tribute to true sports fans, as well as aging with grace and hope like the women in the movie. There’s a scene where one of the characters trades jerseys with Tom Brady. He makes a comment about how he can’t find his, which is a reference to when his jersey was stolen in real life after a Super Bowl game. There are some cute jokes that mostly older people will laugh at. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: The plot is paper thin and predictable. Not all of the humor lands. TIPS FOR PARENTS: Some profanity and 1 F-bomb. There are a lot of sexual innuendoes. Kids will be bored.

Jane Fonda joins another quartet of elderly women in a different movie that has one of the most simplistic plots I've seen in years. While it may be based on a true story, that doesn't make it an interesting story you know? At least, that's how I perceive it, mainly because it's confined to a rather narrow niche.I believe it will be more appealing to to the US audience due to the sport, the characters, and their idiosyncrasies. However, for me, it turned out to be adequately executed but ultimately a mediocre and inconsequential experience. And that's mostly because of the simple reason that I couldn't care about the characters and their journey.

Will my Abuela enjoy it? Yes. Will a whole lot of other people? Probably not. And that's okay. Listen, I'll say this. The look of confusion that the ticket clerk had when two teenage **** came up and asked with full seriousness, "two tickets to 80 for Brady, please" was enough for me to have a great time.

80 For Brady is a road trip comedy featuring a legendary cast, of which is made up of stars on the football field and the big screen, and is a film loosely based on a true story involving 4 elderly women make their way to Super Bowl 51. The movie is very goofy, as its ragtag group of characters would suggest, and who really embody the film's tone. While the film's humor might not always work, some of the acting isn't always convincing and features a handful of awkward moments scattered throughout the film's runtime, there isn't anything too bad or offensive about the film to write off completely. It's a good movie to take your parents or grandparents to, and they'll most likely have a fun time with it, and you'll enjoy that time spent with them.

I had no idea this was based on a true story but I have to say this is an incredible movie with heart-warming segments and a greatly inspiring message! I was enthused and enjoyed every minute! Stellar work from a great cast and it was worth every second. I was not at all expecting what was delivered but I did think it would be funny and cute, however, it was so much more than that. There is a beautiful story at play here. One of overcoming, friendship, love and believing in yourself as you go after your dreams to LIVE life. If there is one thing that Tom Brady has done in his career it is inspire people to do that and this movie and story is one for the history books! Fantastic!

The acting is fair - at best, but there are some funny scenes and you could watch the movie with your family without being embarrassed by the swearing, sex, or violence. It is sort of a feel good movie if you do not mind the poor acting.

Hey, Streamers! Just in time for *wink* “The Big Game” *wink* next week, a new sports movie rushes its way into theaters. While the newly-re-retired Tom Brady will not be making another appearance at *wink* “The Big Game” *wink*, he does loom large on *wink* The Big Screen *wink*. (See what I did there!?!?) Anyway, Tom’s retired contemporaries are celebrating their obsession for him in 80 for Brady. Here’s how these golden girls tackled it. 80 for Brady is inspired by a true story about four friends who got together weekly to watch their favorite quarterback dominate while he was on the New England Patriots. In the movie, it’s 2017 and Lou (Lily Tomlin), Trish (Jane Fonda), Betty (Sally Field) and Maura (Rita Moreno) get together every week to watch football, specifically Tom Brady. As the Patriots win the AFC Championship that year, Lou decides that they should make the trip to *wink* “The Big Game” *wink* because neither they nor Tom are getting any younger. Despite the high cost, the friends concoct a scheme to make their “life-long” dream come true. Geriatric hijinks ensue. Look, I was in the tank for this movie from the first trailer. Tomlin, Fonda, Field and Moreno are acting legends and many times they are the best parts of whatever movie or TV show they’re in. All of them together was bound to be a homerun – I know, wrong sport. They do not disappoint. Each one gets a chance to shine with good comedic and tender moments. They all are bringing effervescence and fun. They are believable as friends, and they can spin gold, or at least silver, out of what could be subpar comedy. Outside of this core four, there are other notable appearances by Glynn Turman, Billy Porter and Bob Balaban, who make the most of small roles. If it weren’t for the ladies of Brady, this movie would have been a fumble – see, I got that one. The story is predictable. The motivation for going to the game is easily guessed. The mode of getting to the game is pretty obvious. We already know the outcome of the game, so that’s no surprise. All of the plotting would be boring but for the stellar ensemble. Additionally, these jokes and situations can get corny, with a capital “C.” Some of these set ups you can see coming from a mile away, which is why this movie needed 3 Oscar winners and a comedy legend to sell it. They absolutely sold the hijinks and zaniness of the situation. Moreover, luckily, nothing is too embarrassing or cringy, so generally even the corny stuff is funny. It all leads to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Aside: I will note that Tom Brady has a few acting moments that made be think, “Stick to your day job, sir.” Ultimately, 80 for Brady is a very cute and fun movie. It has an excellent ensemble of legendary actresses who are selling the good time. If you are a fan of these ladies, then you will have a great time from beginning to end, but really, the story is pretty basic and can be corny. This comedy is the epitome **** time at a matinee with a bowl of popcorn, then shuffle over to your early bird dinner.

Why? just why? I'm so confused because I don't know why brady needed to be in this. You could replace this with any other football team or player and It would still be the same story

BAD writing - BAD directing - Wasted 4 Talented, mature actresses - dialog is sophomoric and horrible

The movie had a few laughs, and it was lighthearted enough. On the other hand, it seemed to drag in parts, and I found myself wondering why I was watching it.

Not as offensively terrible as it seemed like. Had some decent funny moments mixed in.
