Yoshi's Story
Not everyone is going to like Yoshi's Story. I do. It's Yoshi. It's easy, but it's fun.
Mischief Makers dropped some hints about what the N64 can do in 2-D, but Yoshi's Story pushes the boat out so far it''s run ashore on the other side ... but once you've got past the initial sense of ''ahh, isn''t that sweet'' it doesn''t take long before all that sugar rots your teeth and sets your stomach a-churning.
Where most titles stress the importance in challenge in completing a level, Yoshi's Story emphasizes challenge in exploration--something rarely done in two-dimensional games. While Yoshi's Story isn't Yoshi's Island II, it is another shining example of simple, unadulterated entertainment in gaming.

I was not prepared for Yoshi's Story. It's bizarre. They sing (off-key) between levels. Some of the characters they encounter look like they belong in Rayman. There are 6 levels with 4 possible stages, unlocked by doing things I didn't fully understand. What I was least prepared for, though, is that it's basically a roguelike. You pick your path through the game by choosing one of the unlocked stages per level, plus one of six Yoshis of varying colors and then proceed through the storybook stage with a goal of collecting 30 fruits. They recover "health" by eating fruit, but lose all 6 and you have to start a new run. To finally beat it, I started exiting out when I lost a Yoshi. One successful run was enough for me, so there are tons of secrets and stages I won't ever see.

Este juego me logró enganchar muy bien. ¿Por qué? No lo se, pero me sigue enganchando, mi mayor queja es la dificultad alta que se presenta muchas veces

This is a game that doesn't care if it doesn't have 100% 64 bit graphics it cares if it is good and it is. Well the game is a bit boring everything else is gold.

In the short term at least it's fun, very good fun in fact, and excellent for those retro fans who are desperate for a 2D platforming fix. Just don't expect to be playing it a year from now.

There's a pervading feeling of trying to keep yourself busy (almost like a cat playing with a mouse) than being kept on your toes by your foes.In the end, Yoshi's Story is good for a rental at best.

All Game Guide
You may find that Yoshi's Story can be a wonderfully irresistible experience. It's like Super Mario Bros. 2 in that it's quite a bit different from the usual Mario fare. Many people loved Super Mario Bros. 2, whereas some didn't. That will be the case here as well.

I can't recommend Yoshi's Story to anyone but the youngest of gamers.

Its understandable if someone avoided this game cause of this childish aesthetics. But yoshis story remains as great comfort game, typically for nintendo softwares everyone can play it no matter of experience but somehow its hard to master (melon challenge) which connected with replayable architecture of gameplay and scoring system can give you almost arcade experience of mastering hiscores. Conclusing, this game has a lot of value aimed for nonchild nintendo fans under its very childish artstyle

I liked it as a teenager, but its actually very boring. The system how the levels are build is not the classic way how we know it from Yoshis Island on the SNES

This game ****. The music is a **** and the gameplay is awful. The greaphics aren't so bad but they aren't good. Everything that makes Yoshi's Island a good, this game makes bad

I was bored so I bought this at long last - on Wii U Virtual Console. I've been a fan of Yoshi's Island since I got it on SNES when it came out, and still play it occasionally. I also have enjoyed Yoshi's Island's sequels on DS and 3DS, and quite liked Yoshi's Woolly World. This however... this is a bit rubbish. The graphics are awful, completely lacking any of the charm that has made the rest of the series so charming. The Yoshi's sing, and it sounds like a cross between LocoRoco and the Lums from Rayman. It is unbelievably grating. Levels are linear and dull, with illusions of multiple paths. The design is based around Yoshi's Island, but again lacks the charm, and the finesse of design. Fruits around the levels are collected from where they lay, or found in bubbles or dropped by enemies. Collecting enough pieces of fruit ends the level. That's it. So so so boring, ugly, and irritating to hear. A shame, because Yoshi has starred in some excellent platformers.

SummaryBaby Bowser has taken the Super Happy Tree and cast a spell on Yoshi's world, turning it into the pages of a picture book. The only Yoshis not affected by the spell were six hatchlings that were still protected by their shells. It's up to them to reclaim the Super Happy Tree and restore happiness to the world. That is the only thing that... Read More
