If you’re reading and you work on a gaming site, trust me, this is great, you’re going to love it. And everyone else, you’re going to love it too!

Wizordum from developer Emberheart Games is an experience that contains a 90s first-person shooter backbone with modern gameplay elements to keep it fun and relevant. Not all gamers will buy into this mix of old and new, which will be a missed opportunity on their part.

Very nostalgic game. It reminds me of the good FPS's I played as a child, not this modern crap. Highly recommended!

Fantastic boomer shooter! Really plays like an amazing version of Hexxen. This is a game you should buy!

Right now, even as an early access game, Wizordum has tons for the player from its superb gameplay in the first main episode, level designer, and more. I love the aesthetic, music, gameplay, and premise. Wizordum is the real deal, and I can’t wait to keep revisiting it as it gets updates over time. It looks gorgeous on Steam Deck as well, and really makes me wish I had a Steam Deck OLED right now. I urge you to download the demo and see how good it is for yourself.

Buggy and rushed out of early access, Wizordum offers a decent experience in its first two chapters that quickly sours once you reach its final one. I've run into issues that range from, getting stuck in place, to having enemies stop attacking me altogether, in other cases in later stages in episode 3, you can tell the developers simply didn't care anymore about their game and the encounter design goes out the window, with multiple enemies being spawned around you and not enough ammo given to you to handle them. It is not fun to have five enemies to contend with, only to then have six spawn behind you, on any difficulty this is a problem, it's a shame too, because had they spend more time tweaking the game it could've been at least a decent experience.
