They said: ‘It’s the worst game of 2018. Don’t play it, just watch it on YouTube’. I didn’t listen. And I should have. [13/2018, p.86]

The Quiet Man is a once-in-a-generation terrible game mired by technical and racial issues, pretentious ideas, and poor execution. It’s an ineffable game that fails to land any of its posy punches. That it merely exists… now that is something to cry over. [Issue#157, p.97]

A deaf protagonist. A quiet man. A thundering silence, as you sneak by this game unnoticed, leaving its abysmal contents to the vultures.

This is by no means a good game its story relies on a second playthrough to be understood and its poorly optimized

I am absolutely stunned about the hate this game gets. It’s short, it’s janky and it’s weird as all heck, for sure. But it’s a wild experiment. The combat is very simple, though takes a bit to fully understand and can be strangely satisfying. The story is perhaps not the best, but the way it’s told is fascinating, essentially requiring 2 playthroughs. The first run has only ambient sound and you can’t hear anything anyone says, so you have to piece together what you can infer. After the first round you are able to play it with normal sound and basically unlock the full story. So while that may sound like a hurtle to most, if you’re a weirdo like me, you live for this kind of bizarre “this is what stuck to the wall” type of game. So if you like weird games and aren’t completely turned off from literally playing a game that refuses to let you hear any dialog the first time through, give it a shot. If you are put off by that kind of artsy fartsy nonsense, then yeah, don’t bother. Still. I’m glad I gave it a chance.

It's not without its issues, but these are the kinds of experiences that really stick in the mind, and I'd rather that that yet another stock-standard action game that neatly fits within structures that we've already seen dozens of times before.

Trying something new doesn’t mean you’re necessarily doing something good. Behold The Quiet Man, who dares concern the topic of mutism. But despite its neo-noir atmosphere, The Quiet Man fails to draw attention.

This game was amazing. I think people didn’t get the idea.. I like gameplay and graphic. I bought from PSN for 7$ and for this price I think worth every penny.

Despite showing signs of a strong vision, undercooked mechanics and a nonsensical story propel The Quiet Man to miss the mark in just about every way, causing its best ideas to deteriorate into forgettable gimmicks.

The Quiet Man is one of the worst games I have ever played, but forcing me to play twice to experience the audio left an even worse impression. While withholding all dialogue until the second playthrough is an interesting concept in theory, it added little to The Quiet Man's already terrible story, making the second run even more of a chore than the first.

We give The Quiet Man a point because it exists, and some people worked on it, but it is easily one of the biggest trainwrecks in the history of video games. Gameplay is awful, narrative is awful... nothing can be saved, and no one would ever have the patience to play it once and then download the New Game Plus DLC that includes sounds to understand something. It's just too painful.

Un juego que me pareció bastante raro, y pesimamente optimizado pero que me gustaron bastante las transiciones entre "cinematicas reales" y gameplay.

The best thing I can say about it is that it is unique, Sadly the part that makes it unique is also what makes it terrible but hey at least you can experience it for cheap

Is very difficult to understand the reason of an importante software house to publish a trash like ''the quiet man''. A ridiculous film with some patethic and easy combat phase. It seems incredible but in all history of videogame the best sliding beat 'em up it's still again capcom's final fight
SummaryThe Quiet Man is an immersive story driven cinematic action experience that seamlessly blends high-production live action, realistic CG and pulse-pounding action gameplay that can be completed in one sitting. [Square Enix]
