House of the Dead 2 Remake returns as a zombie; its gameplay style perfectly suits the current Nintendo console, being a challenging arcade classic with plenty of action and violence straight out of the 1990s. Despite the difficulty, its campaign is quite fun and perfect for a game night.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake is a refreshing blast from the past. It proves that old-school game design still has bite and that rail shooters deserve a comeback. The remake could've used more polish, and there are definite issues, but especially in co-op, it's still a fun ride worth trying even for those who didn't experience it the first time around.

A gloriously gory glow up of a stone cold classic that suffers from irksome control issues.

Truly an abysmal remake in every way. Artistically it has lost everything that gave the original character. The music is blander, animations worse, enemy timings less fair, controls less responsive and it has game breaking bugs and crashes. On my very first attempt the game crashed on the fourth stage. This is truly an irredeemable piece of trash that even the biggest Sega fan should stay well clear of.

Literally the most insulting remake ever made and it deserves nothing but scaving reviews, it is absolutely worthless and has nothing that made the original as fantastic a game as it actually is, and I pray the developers that made this Unity Assest Flip slop never get to touch the series EVER again after this literally trash heap of a quote on quote remake, if you're a true fan of the House of The Dead series do yourself a favour and avoid this game don't buy it, make sure it sells terribly, vote with your wallet and make sure the series there the respect it deserves.

Well, It’s finally here! House of the dead 2 the remake on Nintendo switch, And ****’s so subpar They’ve patched a lot of the initial complaints but something feels so incredibly half baked with this game. I put the original remake to see if it was just me, But it wasn’t. This one has worst graphics and the framerate can slow way down when you have more than a few creatures on screen, The dialogue is god awful but that’s one of the best parts! It’s unchanged from the original, And honestly I’m glad this game exists.
Why? Because 3, 4 and overkill are next in line and all those games are much (MUCH) better. This one has terrible music, Terrible dialogue, And it looks like the color orange threw up on the screen. For some reason everything looks oxidized, But it’s fun in a low budget kind of way. On the switch 2 it runs fine, But we will see once the “current gen” version comes out what the improvements and additions are, This game could move used more QOL improvements, But…at least we got something, And for the price of aMcDonald’s meal with a happy meal for your kid, You could do worse. 5/10

I've had this on pre-order since the start of sodding April for a physical edition. Delay, delay, delay, delay is all that those of us who pre-ordered have been greeted with. Only communication I've been able to get as to when it's supposedly going to come out physically is from the good people at PNP Games but I am done. Clearly the developers and/or publisher do not give a single solitary sht for the people that keep them in business so I'm taking my money back. Considering what others are saying about this game if you're reading this and have it on pre-order I suggest you get your money back too, while you still can.

Ultimately, I am glad The House of the Dead 2: Remake exists. Control woes aside, I suspect many players will eventually find some enjoyment from the game, provided you're willing to spend considerable time in the settings menu beforehand. It's a fascinating blast from the past, warts 'n' all, and a real showcase of some truly terrible voice acting from the '90s. Just make sure you toggle the 'Mute "Reload!" Scream' option – good lord.

Summary THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2: Remake is a remake of the second entry in the well-known and popular rail-shooter series. Take on the lone role of a secret agent as James or Gary, or team up in co-op mode to neutralize the dangerous undead monsters standing in your way.
