Tales of Berseria remains one of the most emblematic and darkest chapters in the franchise, with a mature plot that inverts traditional roles by placing us in the shoes of villains and a combat system that may superficially seem simple, but brings a good layer of complexity. The quality-of-life improvements in this version make the experience more fluid and adapted to current standards, although the need for this remaster is questionable for those who already own the PS4 version.

Overall Tales of Berseria Remastered is one of the better Tales games in recent memory. If you have it on PS4, and have a PS5 that can play it, I would probably hold off, unless you really need the buttery smooth 60fps. If you don’t have the original, this is a great game to get started on.

Is Tales of Berseria Remastered worth a double dip? Absolutely not. There’s no reason to get it if you already own the regular game (unless you have completionist OCD). Bandai Namco needs to be careful they don’t lose any good will with their fans, when so many other companies are offering free PS5 upgrades to PS4 games. But Remastered is now the best version of Berseria because of its few changes. It’s an excellent action JRPG. If you don’t already own it, Tales of Berseria Remastered has a phenomenal story, and fun combat. So get it if you haven’t already.

Bene ma non benissimo da questo ritorno migliorato mi sarei aspettato un lavoro molto più curato ma che mi lascia seri dubbi su questo aspetto... 7.3/10

Very good game, although it's still the same version as the PS4 one, just with a higher resolution. But this is about the game itself, everything else is secondary.

They've made a lazy 60 fps patch, 40 €uros. They will never learn. I hate this industry right now, it is no more about gaming, it is about money. I cannot wait for another huge crash to clean this mess.

I have always held Tales of Berseria in high regard for embracing a gritty tone while maintaining the core Tales essence. Now, I praise it once again for delivering the strongest remaster among the Tales remastered projects.

Tales of Berseria was a great entry in the series back when it originally released and it still is today. This is an excellent RPG to pick up if you're looking for a thoroughly entertaining story although the enhancements aren't anything to write home about.

The game features an excellent narrative with well-developed characters and psychological insight. The solid Liberation Linear Motion Battle System offers considerable satisfaction, and the enemy bestiary is well-researched and varied. Among the remaster's strengths are undoubtedly its technical performance, with 4K support and improved fluidity, as well as the inclusion of all previous DLC. However, some features are controversial to say the least, such as the ability to disable turn-based combat, as was the case in Baten Kaitos, and especially the application of censorship. These are choices intended for a wider audience, we understand, but purists may not be happy.

Making a beloved classic available to a grander audience is exciting no matter the context, and Tales of Berseria Remastered will assuredly continue to prove the demand for that notion. I'm positive that Switch and Xbox players who haven't played this entry before will find themselves compelled by this tale of vindictive reason...Still, the ill-crafted combat has not aged elegantly, and the necessity of this remaster is entirely meaningless for those on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Now, I'm just hoping that Xillia 2 and titles from the PlayStation 2 era and before finally make their way to modern platforms.

Tales of Berseria remains what it always was: a strong JRPG with a compelling story and memorable characters. However, this remaster feels less like a true return and more like an expensive 60-fps patch. If you've never played the original, this is still highly recommended. But if you're already familiar with it, you have to wonder if this version has added enough to warrant a fresh start.

Tales of Berseria Remastered remains a fantastic JRPG, driven by its gripping revenge story and rock-solid real-time combat. The remaster adds smoother performance and visual upgrades, but little in the way of actual new content. If you’ve never played it, this is the best version to jump in. Veterans, however, may notice that there’s little reason to return.

I'm a long time fan of the Tales of games, and I personally love that this release, along with the other recent remasters, received a physical version with some extra bells and whistles. That said, the urge to buy Tales of Berseria Remastered isn't really all that strong, as this experience essentially exists on modern hardware already.

Tales of Berseria is still a fine game, but this is a remaster that should have been an upgrade, either free or at $10 if you owned the PS4 version. The original game is less than 10 years old, and despite this version some minor performance upgrades and better textures, I'd still recommend the last gen version over this "remaster". It still plays well, and has a solid story... but it should have been an upgrade, and not sold at the price it is.

If this project fails, it's their own fault. Berseria's TRASH re-release has less than 500 players in the firsr day on Steam.
**** this GARBAGE remaster and remaster the games that need it.
