Super Mario Galaxy is the most artistic masterpiece in the history of the 3D Mario series. With its legendary level design and background music—especially Gusty Garden Galaxy—just listening to it is enough to make the game over. However, I feel it is slightly less **** game than Mario Odyssey. After all, it relies heavily on the music. Still, since the story was legendary, it definitely ranks in the top 3.

Um delírio entre melancolia, existencialismo, morte e renascimento: Super Mario Galaxy. Nesta próxima grande aventura de Mario, o herói deixa o clássico Reino dos Cogumelos e parte rumo às galáxias. Super Mario Galaxy (2007) foge do clássico Mario 2D visto anteriormente e reintroduz a mecânica 3D, como em Super Mario 64 (N64), agora com gráficos atualizados e capazes de desafiar o motor gráfico do console de 2007: o Nintendo Wii. E a trilha sonora? Uma obra-prima. É como se você estivesse em um concerto, com uma banda sinfônica tocando ao vivo diante de você. Diferente de tudo que havia sido apresentado antes, este oferece uma reforma completa na imersão do jogador. Antes, coletávamos estrelas para salvar a Peach das garras de Bowser. Agora, a proposta é reformulada: temos um universo a explorar e, claro, uma princesa para salvar. Mas, desta vez, Mario não está só. Logo no início da aventura, Mario é levado às alturas junto com o castelo da Princesa, para onde havia sido convidado a fim de apreciar o evento principal do jogo: o Festival das Estrelas. O evento é interrompido por Bowser, que, utilizando o poder das Grand Stars, rapta a princesa e leva o castelo para o centro do universo. Já nas alturas, Mario é atingido por Magikoopa e acaba desmaiando em um geóide chamado Gateway Galaxy, o portal. É então que temos a triunfal introdução daquela que se tornaria uma das personagens mais queridas da Nintendo: Rosalina, apresentada como a “Protetora do Cosmos” e “mãe das Lumas”. Nesse ponto, Mario recebe a habilidade central — e revolucionária — especialmente quando combinada ao controle do Wii Remote: o Spin, que permite girar e interagir com o ambiente durante toda a aventura. Depois de concluir a primeira fase e coletar a primeira Grand Star, somos transportados para o lobby do jogo e para o abrigo de Rosalina e suas Lumas: o Cometa Observatório. A partir dele, viajamos pelo universo e acessar gradativamente novas fases. E é importante ressaltar: cada detalhe desse jogo parece ter sido pensado, construído e executado com extrema maestria. Mario deixa de ser um jogo essencialmente linear. Por horas, ele passa a ser uma experiência de conforto, exploração e descoberta. Já não buscamos simplesmente entrar em tubos e alcançar bandeiras no final das fases. Agora, buscamos coletar cada vez mais estrelas para fortalecer o núcleo do Cometa Observatório e, principalmente, descobrir mais sobre a história de Rosalina. E Rosalina é uma das grandes chaves para compreender o que torna esse jogo tão especial. Sua história é melancólica, dramática e, ao mesmo tempo, consegue expor algo que a Nintendo raramente colocava no centro de suas aventuras: tristeza, perda e profundidade narrativa. Mario quer recuperar aquilo que perdeu. Rosalina, representa alguém que precisou aprender a viver com aquilo que não pode recuperar. Yoshiaki Koizumi está por trás da direção de toda essa experiência, enquanto Takayuki Ikkaku contribui para a construção narrativa. Mahito Yokota e Koji Kondo completam a obra com uma trilha sonora orquestral que se integra aos efeitos sonoros do momento e ao próprio comportamento do Mario. O resultado é uma aventura intergaláctica emocionante, criativa e, acima de tudo, surpreendentemente profunda. Mas é inevitável falar dessa aventura sem mencionar a triste e devastadora história de Rosalina — uma personagem que permanece em uma busca quase eterna por sua mãe e que atravessa uma jornada de perda, superação e aceitação que parece se estender por séculos. A misteriosa protetora do cosmos também possui uma ligação com o Reino dos Cogumelos e, de tempos em tempos, compartilha partes de sua história na biblioteca do Cometa Observatório. É justamente nesses momentos que Super Mario Galaxy abandona temporariamente a aventura colorida e nos apresenta uma narrativa muito mais íntima e melancólica. E talvez seja exatamente essa combinação que faça o jogo ser tão memorável. Por trás das cores, das estrelas, dos planetas e da música orquestral existe uma história sobre perda, saudade, morte, aceitação e renascimento. É justamente esse contraste que torna a narrativa de Rosalina tão marcante. Para encerrar esta review, podemos concluir que Super Mario Galaxy é uma experiência indispensável para qualquer fã da série Super Mario. Mais do que uma simples aventura de plataforma, é um jogo capaz de transmitir conforto, melancolia e encantamento ao mesmo tempo. Minha recomendação é: coletem todas as estrelas e completem as 120. Encerrem o jogo e descubram uma das cutscenes mais belas de toda a aventura. Porque, no fim, Super Mario Galaxy não é apenas sobre salvar uma princesa. É sobre olhar para o universo e perceber que, mesmo quando tudo termina, algumas estrelas continuam brilhando. E as pessoas que mais amamos sempre nos acompanharão mesmo que não estejam mais pessoalmente. Espero que tenham gostado da minha resenha e desejo que apreciem esta obra maestra assim como continuo apreciando desde meus 9 anos de idade!

Super Mario Galaxy es una obra maestra total, así de claro. Para ser un juego del 2007, que lo juegues en pleno 2026 y siga siendo tan absurdamente disfrutable y divertido demuestra la clase de joya atemporal que es. No ha envejecido ni un solo día en lo jugable. Si hay algo en lo que hay que centrarse por encima de todo es en la música: es una obra maestra absoluta. La banda sonora orquestada es sencillamente legendaria; cada galaxia tiene un tema que te pone los pelos de punta, eleva la épica del viaje espacial a otro nivel y se te queda grabada en la cabeza para siempre. Temas como el de Gusty Garden Galaxy o el paseo por el Planetarium son pura magia auditiva y marcan un antes y un después en la historia de los videojuegos. En lo jugable, la mecánica de la gravedad y las plataformas es una genialidad. Moverte alrededor de pequeños planetas, saltar de uno a otro usando los objetos estelares y probar las distintas transformaciones hace que el juego sea dinámico, fresco y adictivo a más no poder. El diseño de niveles es perfecto, reinventándose en cada estrella para que nunca sientas que estás haciendo lo mismo. A nivel visual y artístico, el juego envejeció con una elegancia brutal gracias a su dirección de arte llena de color y personalidad. Es un título que derrocha creatividad en cada rincón, divertido de principio a fin y con un nivel de mimo que muy pocos juegos han conseguido alcanzar. Para mí, un 9,4 indiscutible.

Yea I’m calling it a masterpiece, so what if it doesn’t have a deep and complex story? This game is pure happiness, it doesn’t matter! Everything about this game is done so phenomenally. All of the galaxies are so fresh and interesting to visit, none of them feel the same. And helping that is this games amazing soundtrack, undeniably being one of the best ever made for a video game. The core mechanics are also simple to understand yet are always used in amazing ways, despite its “weird” method of control it still plays really well. And for a Mario game, it does have some pretty cool lore to uncover, again nothing deep and complex but still very fun to listen to. Would recommend to everyone who’s able to play it

One of the greatest games ever made, the gravity mechanic and physics are so unique and used in very creative ways, the story is simple but incredibly charming and even a little compelling, the music is just on another level, the best ost Nintendo has ever made, and the level design is consistently great. There's so many things to love about this game, it is truly Nintendo at their very best, without a doubt.

10/10. This is one of those few games that will last inside me forever and ever and made me change the perspective of gaming in general. After playing it in 2013 on my Wii I replayed it a lot of times. The OSts are SOOOO GOOOD and majestic to hear. Easily one of the greatest games of all times.

Unlike other 3D Mario games, this one I found to be way too overrated. The controls are the worst any game is, and that's always the most important factor, or at least one of them, this also means you can't skip cuisines, making this far too tedious to replay for absolutely no good reason; the level structure is also very boring as it takes a weird middle ground between the Exploration games like SM64, SM Sunshine, SM Odyssey, and Bowser's Fury; and the linear games like SM 3D Land and SM 3D World, I love both artstyles quite a bit, but not this weird middle ground; most of the power-ups are also not that fun to use, the spin attack is not as interesting as Mario Sunshine's FLUDD, or Mario Odyssey's Cappy. The only redeemable but not major enough part is the atmosphere and music

Galaxy is a fun little 3D Mario, it’s hard not to love it. The game is fun and charming, one people can invest tens of hours into beating, and rebeating.

Perfect game just the bosses are so easy, it would be great to add a different difficulty mods

this game is so peak asf, i love galaxy sm, best mario 3d game as well. the gameplay is so fun, the story is simple but good, the end credits make me cry 🥹

All tough i do not like this one as much as the second installment it sure is one of the best 3d jump n runs of all time and it even makes one thing better than it's successor. The atmosphere.

Um jogo muito inovador, que eleva o patamar dos jogos de plataforma 3D como nenhum outro já fez até hoje. Uma experiência incrível! Que de negativa, só tem a câmera, que algumas vezes te atrapalha, mas nada que comprometa a gameplay.

Super Mario Galaxy es una obra maestra atemporal que representa la cúspide del diseño de niveles en la historia de los videojuegos y una de las mayores demostraciones de genialidad creativa jamás vistas. El salto al espacio exterior no fue un simple cambio de fachada, sino una revolución mecánica: el juego reescribe las reglas de las plataformas tridimensionales al jugar con la gravedad y la física planetaria de una forma tan intuitiva que parece mágica. Ir saltando de planetoide en planetoide, caminar cabeza abajo y salir despedido por el cosmos genera una constante sensación de asombro y descubrimiento. Cada nivel es un derroche de ideas frescas que se introducen, se exprimen al máximo y se descartan en pos de la siguiente sorpresa, logrando que el aburrimiento sea una imposibilidad absoluta.Visualmente es un prodigio técnico que llevó al límite el hardware de su consola, regalando estampas de una belleza plástica sobrecogedora que no han envejecido ni un solo ápice. A esto se le suma el debut de una majestuosa banda sonora completamente orquestada que eleva la épica del viaje de Mario a una escala casi cinematográfica y celestial. Si hubiera que buscarle algún defecto menor, se podría señalar que la cámara fija, aunque roza la perfección a la hora de guiar al jugador por entornos tan complejos, priva a veces de un control manual absoluto, y que el modo cooperativo para un segundo jugador resulta bastante anecdótico. Sin embargo, buscarle fallos a Super Mario Galaxy es un ejercicio de pura futilidad. Es un título perfecto, desbordante de alegría, color e ingenio; una carta de amor a la interactividad que recuerda al mundo entero por qué amamos los videojuegos.

This is the best game I've ever played. I have 30k hours in that game and It deserves every seconds of it. Gameplay is basic and there is no unique mechanic, but the gameplay and the bosses are really creative and uniqure than others at this time for sure. Story and storry telling is decent but not good as much as creativity and bosses. Passive buffs can be more because there is only 14 of them and Its not enough for 242 stars.

It's alright for a Mario fan who needs something to do but that gameplay is way to slow for a Mario game. Also in my opinion its not a Mario game to Speedrun if u are into speedrunning platformers. but mid Mario game anyways

This game is, in my honest opinion, the best Mario game ever created and most likely the best one we will ever get. The soundtrack is immaculate, story is incredible, and gameplay is even better. Super Mario Galaxy is probably the most creative and artistic Mario game. Super Mario Galaxy is a mainline game of the 3D Super Mario games. This game has a bigger focus on it's story, in which a new character introduced for the first time in Super Mario Galaxy called Rosalina, that lives on the outer space, helps Mario find all the Lumas through all the galaxies. The gameplay consists of Using the Wii Remote to attack doing a shaking movement and pointing at the screen to do various actions, with some minor galaxies that have great use of the Wii Remote by doing more advanced movements like tilting the Wii Remote to various directions. The game also has a good movement and level design, the bosses can be easy, but other bosses require more skill and may take longer to defeat, but it's not a hard game. It has a good dificulty and the story isn't too amazing, but it has more story than other 3D Mario games. It's graphics are very charming and detailed for a game released in 2007, it has good lightining, shadows, reflections, details, colors and effects. It has a beautiful orchestra soundtrack that fits the game very well and it's galaxy/space setting. For the masterpiece of a 3D Mario game that galaxy is, and if it wasn't for Odyssey and the sequel (Super Mario Galaxy 2), it could be the best Mario game. Certainly 10/10.

After I revisited my old safe file after 10 years, I can still confidently say that this is one of the best games ever made. It’s rare to see such a game flourishing with imagination and creativity now-a-days, and it feels like a breath of fresh air even after all this time.

Mario Galaxy is one of the best Mario games I have ever played. Galaxy brings a whole new way of playing a 3d platformer by adding new mechanics to the game like the star launcher. I really like the soundtrack for the game and it is one of my favorite game soundtracks. I like traveling to each planet and looking around in space and rescuing Luma's.

Genuinely, one of the best games of all time. The music, the level design, the unique take on the Mario formula - this has all the makings of an incredible 3D platformer, with some stunning visuals to boot (especially for the Wii). The boss fights are all unique and fun, there's tons of replayability in the form of comets, and truly the only thing I feel it falls short on is that it could be a bit longer. Super Mario Galaxy holds a special place in my heart.

I have no words. This game is just too good to exist. This is one game I cannot live without.
