The Patrick Star Game is just like its main character: chaotic, funny and sometimes a little uncouth. The many rough edges of the open-world adventure cannot be denied, but amidst the chaos there is also a game that has respect for its source material as well as something that both young and older fans can enjoy.

Vibrant and silly, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game is unpretentious and sometimes sloppy, but it embraces the innocent chaos of a character as beloved as the franchise's protagonist. The title gives players the freedom to make a truly reckless mess around Bikini Bottom, especially if they're a creative kid.

An open world sandbox that lets you run free around Bikini Bottom, there's plenty of fun to be had in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game. It's packed with minigames and activities, but it's just a shame the whole experience feels rather rough.

The Patrick Star Game is fun, and to see the original cast return for it is a wonderful thing, but this deep-sea sandbox remains in relatively shallow waters despite a rich history of references and callbacks. It’s probably a safe bet to keep your kids entertained for a good while, but for us adults who still have a soft spot for SpongeBob SquarePants, this is still a solid recommendation - just when the game is on sale and you’re looking for something simple to mindlessly work away at.

Though the controls could be difficult for young children due to the physics involved, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game is designed to be fun for everyone, and it would certainly be hard to be depressed while in this bright world.

Best game ever! It is so much fun and Patrick finally has spotlight. I reccommend that you play this and is the only good thing to release during the 25 Anniverary and also a great way to celebrate it. What a cute and funny game.

The open world is enjoyable and the dialog and voice acting is good, but the game play it self gets repetitive over time and doesn't get much more unique.

I know this game is made for kids but holy **** did they not get anyone to play test? There are a million bugs and the physics are so bad. They really didn’t care about this game and pushed it just to make a buck of spongebob.
