Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype is a rather classic shooter, which bases its appeal on those elements that fans of the genre know better: upgradeable weapons, huge bosses, nice levels and a large number of enemies who do nothing but shoot at us. Though its solid gameplay, however, Final Prototype lacks of original ideas and it's way too short.

A dazzling 2D shooter with several tricks up its sleeve. There is more meat here than in most arcade shooters, with a health system that makes for longer play sessions and plenty to do beyond the regular story mode.

Another slickly presented horizontal scrolling shooter with a more forgiving difficulty level, extra ships to choose from and a series of challenges to aid longevity. It's a little better than the original, but doesn't really address any of its flaws adequately. Again, good but not great.

La musique électro colle bien au jeu, et l’expérience seul comme en co-op locale à deux est super ! Pour ma part, ce fût une excellente trouvaille, et je reviens régulièrement dessus, même 6 ans plus **** ... :) A recommander aux amateurs du genre !

Soldner: X2 Final Prototype while a short game like most of this genre, is none the less a spectacular romp that will have players jumping on for a quick blast fest, or seeing just how skilled they are and racking up the points and special upgrades in the levels.

At the end of the day a 2D shooter is all about the gameplay and Soldner-X 2 nails that department.

Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype is arguably more fun than the average sidescrolling shooter, but this is still a niche genre.

Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype is certainly an improvement on the original thanks to the focus on allowing new players the opportunity to still have a fun experience. At the same time, the inclusion of challenges and putting an emphasis on collection in order to experience the complete single player campaign will keep the hardcore occupied for a while.
