This title is a good pick for players ages 13 to 17 (especially those who liked the film), though older players might grow tired of the gags after a while.

The sheer number and monotony of the challenges, however, gets boring at times. [Jan 2002, p.88]

Visually, Shrek is a great example of what the system can do...The structure of the game quickly becomes repetitive, and more importantly, the individual goals of the game just aren't fun.

One of my favourite games of all time! Shrek runs like Sonic the Hedgehog! It doesn’t deserve hate! This game is so much better than Super Mario Bros Wonder!!! Shrek Is Love, Shrek Is Life!!!

The game play appeals to the young and hopelessly naïve gamers who think they're reliving the movie experience. Good luck to them - to the rest of us, spend your X-bucks on something a little more sophisticated.

Shrek's gameplay is sub-par. [Jan 2002]

The problem here is that the levels are either two small, or laid out in ways that are counter-intuitive. There's also the problem of challenge.

Repetitive action and sloppy control in lieu of an enthralling adventure.

The fact is, just about every task the game asks you to play is simply no fun. [Jan 2002, p.230]

Shrek can burp and light his farts! Well, so can my old college roommates and I don't see you paying 50 bucks to hand out with them. [Jan 2002, p.86]

This gem was the reason the Xbox survived. The pure amazing power that is shrek is too much for even this console so it freezes. The missions are enthralling and I've replayed 420 times. Shrek is love. Shrek is life.

As a hardcore fan of the anime, this game was a disappointment. Let's start with the fact that Donkey, Fiona, and Lord Farquaad aren't present. Seriously? They were very important characters to the anime. The plot is very faithful either. This game is almost as much of a disgrace as SpongeBob retconning the universe right as Gary got character development. The controls are **** and the only saving grace this game has is the art style, which is very reminiscent of the anime. Overall, **** this game. Kill it with fire, my fellow weeaboos

Horrible controls, framerate, sound mixing, and gameplay make it feel like you're playing an unfinished game rushed to release.
