The game has a very cool Anime feel to it and a pretty good sense of humor as well.

It's definitely a neat little game, but there's nothing about it that demands an immediate purchase. It has no real replay value, and the trading/collecting aspect isn't compelling.
70
The game's main drawback is its length. Though it's a fun ride, it's easily finished in a few hours, and it doesn't really follow its own storyline really well. Not to mention the incomplete nature of the game: instead of a payoff, it's obvious that there's a sequel in the works.

If yoh does fight in the game then just make it like shin megami tensei don't make it like pokemon okay make it like pokemon but better if it was shin megami tensei

While the spirits are varied enough to keep any serious collector hunting and combining for a long time, the uninspired battle system and the complete lack of battle effects make the game feel like more like collecting for the sake of collecting.

Dances between likeable and overwhelmingly dull.

With gameplay stuck in a mid-90's fad that was in itself considered arcane by any gamer's standards at the height of its popularity, Legacy of the Spirits troubles me with its thrown-together, "let's take advantage of a passing craze before it completely dies" feel.

It isn't as comprehensive or glamorous as any of Nintendo's Pokémon games, but fans of the show will still probably enjoy it a great deal, since it will let them gather and build their own set of fighting spirits while also experiencing firsthand many of the stories told in the show.

Honestly, this is the worst GBA role-playing game this reviewer has ever played. While it tries to rival one of the best, it fails miserably, and in every respect.

A collecting RPG in the tradition of Pokemon - shamefully so. But instead of expanding on this style of gameplay that's already been done to death, The Shaman King sees fit to simplify it so that it offers a challenge akin to turning a water faucet on and off.
